Our regular visits to Friendly Pets in Greensboro occur several times a month. The staff at this establishment demonstrates impressive knowledge about the diverse array of pets they offer. From puppies and cats to birds, rabbits, rodents, amphibians, and even tarantulas, the selection is extensive. In fact, Friendly Pets surpasses most chain pet stores in terms of variety.A notable feature is that patrons are allowed to interact with the puppies, albeit for a nominal fee. This hands-on experience adds to the overall appeal of the store.In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Friendly Pets for any pet-related needs. Their comprehensive selection and knowledgeable staff create a positive environment for pet enthusiasts.

We went over the weekend seeking bettas for our tanks! We love going to friendly pets because of the aquatic section in the store. It’s amazing!Anyway, We purchased 6 wicked looking bettas and so far they’ve all done great! Especially this Beautiful Giant betta they had!Thank you Friendly Pets! We will be back!

DO NOT GO HERE. here’s why…1. Staff are disrespectful to customers and animals, they don’t clean “tanks” or environment.2. Animals are OVER populated in the showing displays, they all look so depressed and so do the birds, bunnies, cats and rodents.3. The dogs drink their water from a Hampstead feeding tube!!! Disgusting….4. No attention for puppies5. Bad pricing for dogs.6. Smells awful, looks like a puppy milWe immediately could tell when we walked in to this place it was sketchy and I will not put money towards this so called “friendly pets”. If you care about animals you would never think about going here again. It doesn’t deserve any stars. They can’t even be outside in a regular setting with grass, it’s in a plaza.

This place is really awesome. U go in and the first thing u see is the rabbits and u get to pet or hold them whatever u wanna do. And ALOT of other animals there too u get to get/hold if u like. I haven't been to another one yet that does that. And the fish area is like lit up cool looking. It's awesome. Very friendly place. Totally recommend this place for pet lovers.

I purchase a Yorkie Poo and I'm so glad I did. MS Mary Beth the owner of the store was very helpful. We went through the checklist together to ensure I had everything I needed before taking the puppy home. I had the puppy for a week and I haven't had any issues. I have the vet appointment schedule this week. The puppy is active and well. I almost didn't purchase the puppy because of the bad reviews. I'm here to tell you I had a wonderful experience. If you want to buy a puppy from there, go or it. Don't let bad reviews stop you. Talking from my experience. I name him Leo!

I just went in to look around to see what was available as we are looking to welcome a pet rat into the family. Staff was knowledgeable of local vets that handle aviary and small animals like rats, hampters, and guinea pigs (we have chickens). They were friendly and tried to be helpful. I was given breeder information. However, I was highly disappointed to see a fish being continuously snacked on during our visit. The pet enclosures were clean for all the animals. I don't want to rate the puppies because I personally don't agree with puppy milling. I'm an advocate for adopting from humane societies and local animal shelters. They truly make the best pets, plus you are encouraged to get ample time to make sure that they are a good fit for your family. But the puppies here looked healthy, clean, and cared for. There were a few kittens and thought their placement in the store was thoughtful. They had many supplies for whatever pet you have, albeit just a little higher in cost than other retailers.

UNFRIENDLY PETS!!!! I went 2 days ago and the dogs were in terrible conditions, poop and pee that no one cleaned so the dogs were in the little cage with it, too many dogs in one cage, the dogs were trying to dig out of it and bite their way out it was very sad. The fishes were dead in little containers. Ferret was by itself they need to be in pairs, way more issues. You have to hate animals to walk in this place especially purchase from this disgusting store. Please read up on puppy mills before purchasing from them. I can’t wait until places like these are shut down.

the workers here are usually nice and friendly but me and my bf went here just to look around and us and a few other ladies noticed a poor puppy getting bullied. Now it wasn’t just any other type of playing, we were genuinely worried for this puppy as it was squealing very loudly. We were looking around hoping would help the poor thing but it just kept getting ignored and after a while they finally stopped messing with the puppy. Even the other ladies were trying to inform the worker but she just brushed it off as playing! Didn’t even care for the puppy or stopped to give it attention. Don’t even waste your time coming here this is a terrible place for these doggies! If I couldn’t buy them all and get them outta there I would.

Friendly pets mistreats their animals, and their customers. I had called prior to see if “puppy playtime” was available, and they said 5:00 PM. So we went, wanting to have a good time, and they turned out to be closed after 5… thanks friendly pets.

Would never buy a thing from them. Puppies were crowded in tiny boxes. It was hot and these poor puppies were panting some of the kennels had 4-5 puppies and it was only like a 3x6 area. Not to mention their water was from a hamster bottle. I don’t know who to call yet, but I will. Also what happens to these puppies if they get too old? Please don’t sell or buy animals like this. It should be a crime.

Okay this is a great pet store it’s very clean and nice, but I wish that the hamster care was a bit better as they use wire wheels that can cause bumble foot and they are in very very small tanks. But other then that great store!

8/18/19 This is a great place to visit if you like dogs, birds, cats, reptiles, arachnids, fish and more. They appear to sell just about everything you could need and/or want for your pet(s). I personally don't care for spiders at all but was curious to see the tarantulas they had anyway. A male employee was nice enough to get them down for me so I could view them closer and answer the questions I had. And even though the store was packed with people he provided great customer service while he was busy helping customers.

Came by with my fiancé to check things out. Terrible idea… This place is ran by useless attitude ridden teenagers who couldn’t care less about any of the animals or customers. The puppies are all crowded into feces filled cages trying to claw their way out. Despicable and truly heart breaking. Do not shop here! You are better off going to a shelter to adopt your pets. It will be a great day for all when this place and others alike are shut down! Friendly Pets and staff you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I’ve had a great experience getting birds from friendly pets. I’ve had Rocket (dark green one) for over a month now and he’s gotten along great with the family and my other bird Yuuki, who I also got from friendly pets. Friendly pets staff cares greatly for the birds.

DO NOT GO HERE.Unless…You want to be super excited just to be truly disappointed. The staff here is incredibly rude, except for the dude with the beanie and the other dude with glasses. If y’all are ACTUALLY hiring, please hire people who actually have customer service. I am never coming back here and will be letting everyone know, especially on my social media account with 4k followers. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

PIC of MY axolotl for attention!!I have went to friendly pets a few time and have seen they started selling axolotls. I have had my axolotl for 2 years so I have learned a lot about them. The guy there was telling me so much wrong information. That they can be with other fish, they can eat worms out of your backyard etc. what’s even worse is they have a Melanoid adult axolotl for sale that’s under bright light in a small tank.The tank, decor and axolotl is 325$ together. This tank is maybe 5 gallons. For a full grown axolotl they need at at LEAST 20. The tank also comes with gravel that should not be in there. If they eat gravel by accident when eating food it can become impacted and they will die. They should be on a bare tank / unless they are big enough for fine sand. They thrive in dark places because they don’t have eyelids and are sensitive to light. It makes me so sad to see these animals being treated wrong.

Overpriced puppies crammed into tiny boxes with no access to water besides a small animals water bottle held on the side. They also charge $10 to pet the puppies for 10minutes. Horrible info and living conditions for all their animals. There was a woman and her daughter chasing the cockatiels around their enclosure smacking them with sticks. All the birds are clipped and can't fly so are kept in reach of everyone near the ground. They had a chinchilla in a small hamster cage surrounded by screaming children. Horrible living conditions for these animals and they are treated even worse by the employees and customers.

This store is awful. They obviously do not care about their animals. I was looking at the cats and saw that many of them had eye infections and were in cages too small for them. Nonstop I heard dogs whining, parrots screaming, and a lousy clerk talking loudly on the phone. I will NEVER go back.

i’ve bought two mini dachshunds from friendly pet and have had the best experience buying them and they have been so healthy and happy! you can tell the pups come from good breeders. thanks to friendly pet for giving me rosie and chloe! highly recommend this place for purchasing a new puppy and for buying pet supplies too! 😊

I recently got a bird here after my other passed away. We bought it and got a warranty. He passed away two years later and then we went back tried to get our money back and they said we could only get the warranty if we got food. They never told us that and we never got our money back. Some old lady yelled at us and said WE killed their bird when I belive they had killed them. Please don’t go there at all unless you want animals from horrible mills. Please don’t and don’t support them at all. Have a good day

Don't buy yor fish from this place.....I have had an established tank for 3 years and I wanted a congo tetra. I found one here after putting it in my tank all my fish are dying from ick. I will keep you updated if I chose to take legal action against this stoe.......

Great selection, pets are well cared for and have regular Vet check ups. The ability to sit in a separate area with a puppy was a great way to get to know them and help in your selection. We sat with 6 different pups before settling on one and he has been a great addition to our family and is now 7 years old! The Prices are on the high end which is why 4 stars rather than 5.

Talk about a puppy mill. Puppies crowded in tiny cages, filled with pee and poop. Anyone who cares about animals wouldn’t buy from here. Overpriced puppies with horrible genetics. Puppies lacking the basic social skills and needs to be solid adults. Watched an employee take a corgi out to let “meet” someone just for the puppy to be tossed back in the cage like he was just another piece of merchandise. Places like these aren’t open for the “love” of animals. They are open to make themselves another dollar. Save your money, find a reputable breeder, and actually purchase your puppy from someone with quality care.

My dad Jeffrey and I loved our visit at the Greensboro store. We both work for a veterinarian and are amazed at how loving and social the puppies are. Puppies that happy are obviously taken care of. ❤️

Way too many people going on in here the pets are right overpriced I would love to get a pet there but they're way overpriced and they're not even potty trained to be overpriced like that the hamsters that we saw were mean like nobody's handling them everyday but the service was okay

Best pet store in the entire Triad! Don't listen to any of the negative reviews, I worked here as a teenager about 17 years ago, I've shopped there ever since and I can say with a depth of knowledge that any negativity about the place is coming from uninformed folks. Zack, Mark's son, is doing an amazing job with the fish, reptiles and arachnids since his dad passed him the torch. Shop local and support the little guys! Only place I'll stock my tank from!
