My family and I love this place! The first time we visited, they were very friendly and treated us ( & our toddler) like old friends! They have a very neat variety of exotic pets and amazing animals on display who live permanently in the shop as well. My daughter has to go around and say hello to all of the new animal friends she's made there as we buy live food for our snake. Friendly, caring staff who can give great honest info about the animals or your animal if you have questions. We go back weekly and look forward to it every time!

For an exotic animal store, I absolutely love the place! The lady helped me out and my husband get our sugar glider babies with a starter kit that came with everything they need. The lady was so sweet and very helpful. I will definitely come back to buy supplies and more sugar babies in the future. Highly recommend. 😊

We were running late and the owner waited for us to get there even after closing time! The place inside is like a zoo! Amazing! She's got so many cool animals and so many cool reptiles! They really take care of their animals and they really enjoy their job! If you need anything even down to crickets they're there for you and their prices are unbeatable I highly recommend never go anywhere else this place is a hidden gem!

These folks are super sweet and friendly. My husband and I have been doing business with them for quite some time now, and we are never disappointed or treated with disrespect.They have all types of exotic animals, and also sell feeders like rodents and insects. Some times we see their children in the shop playing with their own pets.They also sell decor and accessories for your exotic pets.

Great place for to take our big boy for a bath and get his nails trimmed,they're really good and the price can't be beat by anyplace else around here 👍

We LOVE this pet store. Our new permanent pet store. We live in Hickory but would gladly take trips back there for their pets. They have feeder rats and pet rats and we ended up leaving with three (for pets) because she gave us such a good deal and we couldn’t decide because they were all so sweet and such unique varieties (ie, a naked dumbo, a Siamese, and a Harley). She took her time with us and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Not to mention you can tell the rats have all been handled regularly and socialized. They were so sweet and took to us instantly along with our current mischiefs. 🙃

The people that work there are very knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are decent with a fair assortment of goods. My grandson purchased a bearded dragon from them a little over a year ago and it is growing into monster. It's a great place to go if you like animals.

I love this place! They do not shame you for trying to feed your snake live food when it is ALL it will eat.To the reviews of them not rushing to sell you a reptile as a “replacement pet”.....GOOD!! That shows they care about the animals wellbeing and your clear lack of research and parenting if you will take “anything” (IE: iguana, snake.....) for a child.

My friend went in to get a rat for her ball python. He rejected the rat like he rejected a mouse a month before. I was not intended but kinda felt for them. The critters are now in my room in their own tank. I'm not keeping them. Just keeping them them alive til "Moonshine"/snake is ready to eat them. Til then, (call me crazy) spoiling them. In their tanks.. they each have a wheel, water, daily feed, veg/fruit bowls and bedding paper. They each each have different toy other than just the spinning wheel. Temporary names are Something/Mouse and Reject/Rat. The rat wants out every day and only sits with me.

The workers here are simply the best. Always ready to share their broad expertise. While the phrase "treats you like family" gets overused, I cannot truly think of a better description. Even when they are busy, I'm always given the care and attention you'd expect from a close friend or family member.The staff here truly care about their customers and their pets. They provide service well beyond the exchange of goods and funds. They are there for the animals and education long before the dollars and cents.

I love this pet store. We recently bought a snake from pets mart and of course they didn't tell much about it so when I went to pic a pal I had lots of questions, misty showed us everything and explained how we needed to clean his cage and all the stuff that we needed to know. I also have fish, dogs, a rabbit, and two hermit crabs and am currently thinking of getting another snake and a bearded dragon. Thanks to you and your staff I now know where to get my pets and anything I need for them. . Thank you guys and I will Def recommend to all my friends and family.

We got the sweetest Holland lop baby bunny there. She has excellent temperment and loves being held. The staff was very helpful and took care of everything. Would recommend to anyone.

This place is amazing, the family who owns the business are super friendly and love sharing stories, their prices are sooo low compared to main brand stores like Petco and Pet Smart and even normal breeders, super clean store especially for the animals, love absolutely every aspect of this store

The place is a great family business, However they keep forgetting to poke holes into the boxes of our feeder rats. Its gotten to the point i bring something to poke holes in the boxes so they don't suffocate! Other than that swevice is great just be sure to check your feeder rat/mice boxes!!!

Great prices, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Have purchased 2 ball pythons thus far. The first one was taken to the shop every week and they fed him for us because I was scared for my daughter to feed him by herself for almost a year. They answered ALL of my questions without treating me like I was a bother. They also talked me thru our first emergency as the snake had escaped his tank then removed him from the remote controlled car he had found his way into!

Purchased a hedgehog for my mom at Christmas from Pic a Pal! I really enjoyed the whole experience. The store was clean, all the animals seemed happy and well cared for and I loved that it didn't really have that "pet store" smell like others I have been in. I also have three dogs and purchase a lot of their products from Pic a Pal. It is nice to have a local shop (we won't go there with my experinces at both major chain stores) that has very smart employees that really know their animals, especially snakes. Which after my experience there will probably be the next animal added to my house. You may have to wait a week or so to get the animal you want if they don't have it but you will be sure to get healthy well cared for animals, which makes it worth every thing! Can't wait to bring my kids back in to see you guys!!!

I purchased a Pacman frog and he is very healthy and happy. When I visited this place it was my first time and I loved it. The ladies working we're very sweet and happy to answer any questions I had ❤️ The animals were clean and taken care of. The place was very clean itself. I will be back for future purchases.
