Rosie was our little friend who showed up one day and never left, often found in this sunny spot. I’m so thankful she found a soft landing in her senior years and at the end of her life. The staff here took wonderful care of her and were so compassionate and thoughtful. We appreciated their efforts and patience so much, especially on a Sunday evening. Would strongly recommend their urgent care services.

While my dog Screwdriver was at a sitter he started having severe problems with his vision. He was 16 and having multiple problems with things that come with age. I picked him up and was struggling to figure out what to do. I have never used urgent care or emergency vet services before and I really wanted to go to my normal vet but they were unable to take him in so quick. At 10:00 at night I submitted an online appoint request form where they ask for detail and pictures of the symptoms and at 7:55 the next morning they called and said they could see him at 2:00 that day. They were able to call my normal vet and get his documents sent over and everything. They gave him and through assement and walked me through the medicated and treatment I would need to help his eyes. Unfortunately I had to put my boy down a week later but the care they provided allowed him to live his last few days in comfort. Thank you so much! I am so grateful my friends recommend you guys to me!!

Dr. Worthy is our pups health care provider. We appreciate the level of care she provides and she first and foremost has our pups best interest in mind. With that said, she always takes the time to listen and discuss health care issues and provides options. She does not rush and after consults you feel you can make the best informed decision. For my wife and I trust is the most important issue for us when it comes to the level of care our pups receive. Dr. Worthy exceeds our expectations. We are very comfortable with the level of care given by Dr. Worthy.

Can’t rave enough about this place! My vet was out of town and my pet had declined very rapidly. Dr Harvey fit me into his already packed schedule and was extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. From the outside of the building, to the inside of the lobby, to the care you receive here, this place is all around exceptional!

We had a great visit. Luke was nervous going in but the vet tech got him to relax and the vet was professional and caring.

Excellent veterinarian clinic! I had a pet emergency and all local ER clinics were at capacity. This clinic currently has urgent care hours and when I called they were kind and compassionate and helped me understand the best course of care for my cat. Excellent customer service and level of care from all of the staff here. Prices I felt for urgent care were reasonable. I’ve already recommended this clinic to others and will likely be back. Thank you all for caring for our girl Kino!

I made the decision to come to Eastern Store to establish my pets at a new vet due to a recent move. While the phone call I had was very good, it made me comfortable in bringing them to this office and I was confident I just found our new vet. I had made an appointment at this time. However, I had received no confirmation email, text, or call from the office after the appointment was created, all I got was “Wednesday at 8”. Assuming this meant the next Wednesday, I showed up at the appropriate time, where I was told it was actually the next Wednesday at 8. I took this as my fault because I didn’t write it down, and should have taken better note. There was still no confirmation of this until the night before at 8 p.m. Again, I took ownership of the mishap. When I did arrive for the appointment, I was brought into the room with my pet. He is somewhat skiddish, but has always loved the vet and is usually really excited. When we were in the room, the nurse didn’t give a single recognition to him. He sat there excited and wanted to say hi and she completely ignored that he was even in the room.Next, he was taken to the back for his shot. I’m not use to this, and neither was he. At my previous office, I was allowed to be in the room with him and doing so, he was always cooperative and I could distract him so he didn’t notice it as much. While he was back there I could hear him crying. Which made me uncomfortable. After that,He came back in, and the vet came in and sat with him and was really caring. This made me feel a little bit better. Until I looked down and saw a chunk of his hair on the ground.I didn’t say anything to her because she was being so kind to my pet and I appreciated it a lot. But I did think it was weird. It was part of his tail, which he is an Aussie, so it was the longer hair that’s a part of his Bob, usually referred to as “the Aussie lantern”.When she left and the nurse came back in, again, there was no recognition that my pet was even in the same room as her. I had picked up the chunk of hair, and held it up and asked her “do you know why he lost a chuck of his fur, it looks like it’s from his tail”. She gave me a look like the question was absurd and annoying, maybe a 30 second pause. I ignored it and waited for her response which was “I don’t know” another 30 second pause. I kept looking at her, “we had to bear hug him to administer his shot, but I don’t know”. I was shocked and could clearly tell there was no care from her at all, I mean this entire time she acted like he wasn’t there so it wasn’t surprising that she also didn’t care that my baby lost some of his fur.I have been with him every single appointment since he was eight weeks old, he’s over 3 now. I have never once seen a vet bear hug him to give him a shot, nor has it ever been a huge struggle for my vets to administer them to him.The last thing I want to add, is there was no prior notice of what they would be charging me for. The bill came to $217. I always pay their bills and I do not mind paying for the vet, but for a single shot, and for my pet to be treated the way he was, that seems unreasonable to me.Needless to say, I will not be bringing either of my pets her, ever. There were just too many thing that could have been better. I feel like I gave many chances but I left extremely uncomfortable with my visit. These pets may already be nervous being there and I could only image the amount of trauma he endured while he wasn’t with me.Please be better, not only for other pet parents but for their babies too.

ESAH has always been extremely caring with my dogs. When I couldn't find a vet for an emergency visit, they were the only local office that were willing to quickly work him in. He unfortunately passed away due to old age and a heart condition and they were very considerate and helpful through the process that followed. When I got my new dog, they once again, worked him in faster than any other office was able to, including our usual vet. If I ever were to switch veterinarians (which is likely, considering that my primary is about to retire), I would absolutely switch to Eastern Shore and would happily recommend their facilities and doctors to anyone looking for a veterinarian.

Ended up getting bad news about our dog Falcor. But the vet broke the news, that he has cancer, to us gently and gave us hope that he can live happily for more time than we thought.

I have taken my cats to this office for 8 years and have always been pleased with each doctor and satisfied with their treatment outcome. Very recently, on the evening of December 23rd my cat suffered an injury and we rushed her over to the office, arriving just a few minutes before closing. They graciously accepted us and evaluated and treated our beloved cat with a kind and cheerful demeanor. I appreciate them and their staff so very much- it’s a blessing to have such a good veterinarian practice here in Grandy where there are not a lot of resources.

Worst Veterinarian if ever dealt with!!!Not gonna bash the whole place but just one person in particular. Dr Emily worthy is a worthless veterinarian. All of the vet techs and desk lady's are amazing . So My dog was diagnosed with a spleen mass the size of a softball about 3 weeks ago and was prescribed 2 medication to help her since I chose not to go with surgery because it was quoted at around $3000. So I was getting low on medicine so I wanted to talk with Dr worthy to see how long I should be giving her the medicine, but for 8 days I never got an answer back. I called multiple times and was always told she was busy or not there that she would call me back. Well she never called back and my dog was stuck without medication until today when she finally decided to reach out because I decided to cancel them and go to a different vet. Dr Emily Worthy is a horrible veterinarian. The way she went about this situation is unethical and very unprofessional. I will be taking my dogs to a veterinarian that actually cares for my dogs health and is there when I need to talk to them. Thanks for nothing Eastern Shore Animal Hospital

Called to get my dog in for breathing issues and was told it was 700 pm and they close at 800. After the vet and tech were consulted I was told to take him to Bay Beach in VA Beach an hour away. They clearly are not in this business for the animals or community. It's all about their time and money. I will never recommend this place and will make sure anyone I know is aware of how uncaring they are. I was terrified my dog wouldn't even make it an hour away and they are only 10 mins. A zero rating would be more appropriate.

Sadly our first visit was to say good bye to our forever friend Lincoln, our Great Dane at 10 yrs old. The staff was compassionate in one of the most difficult times of a pet owners life. Our family would highly recommend Eastern Shore Animal Hospital.

We were traveling to Duck NC from MD and stayed overnight at a hotel in Richmond while visiting family. While eating breakfast on the outside patio our 6 month old pup sniffed out and ate what looked like a blueberry on the floor. By the time we reached Grandy, we thought she was dying- dilated pupils, tongue extruded, could not stand up. I quickly googled emergency vets near me and Eastern Shore Animal Hospital came right up, just a few miles away and open on a Sunday!! They told us to come right away and ran out with a stretcher. Long story short, this excellent team treated our baby for THC toxicity (we think the blueberry was a THC gummy) over the next 5 hours with exceptional care, skill, thoroughness. We cannot say enough good things about ESAH, their staff and the facility and are so grateful they established weekend emergency care (only in place for four weeks when we saw them!) Our beautiful pup is doing well and we were able to continue our trip! Thanks again to Tammy, Dr. Vogelwede and the rest of the caring and efficient staff at ESAH!! You are the best!

my family has used this place for decades for care for our 4 legged family members. the past few years i have seriously dreaded going because of the staff upfront. doctors are wonderful, but if youre looking for the slightest bit of customer service and for your pet to feel cared about when you walk in the door i strongly suggest you go literally anywhere else

I will always choose this as the place where I take my fur babies. I recently lost a dog tragically, and everyone at Eastern Shore was more than empathetic and accommodating and so very kind to help us with that horrible situation. Since then, we have a new teeny tiny puppy, a chiweenie named Pico, and unfortunately, he was stepped on accidently during his first few weeks with us. I immediately drove him to Eastern Shore, and they saw and xrayed him immediately. He was fine, thankfully, but I was so happy to have taken him here. Dr. WORTHY IS AWESOME! She was VERY thorough and very intelligent, and I left knowing he would more than likely be fine. Which was more than a relief, considering we had just lost our Yoshi babe. I am thankful for them being so close to where we live, being a place that has the best employees (from the front desk to the assistants to the dr,'s) they are all ON POINT and very kind and accommodating, and being a place that is fair on pricing. I will remain a loyal client of theirs and would suggest others to do the same.

I never leave reviews and i have never had an issue until this last week. My dog has been having a horrible reaction to the prescription he has given, so I called first thing Tuesday so see if there was an alternative. The receptionist took my note for the doctor. I never heard back, and my dog started to get worse so I called again Tuesday before closing to see if I could get any advice on relief for my dog before the days end. The lady who answered the phone was immediately rude and said the doctor didn't have time to read the notes left, so she will call me when she can the next day...... its Thursday evening, 2 days later, and I have yet to hear back. Meanwhile, my dog is still having horrible issues. Luckily another vet understood our issue and is getting our dog in tomorrow. We will never refer anyone to ESAH, as we felt completely dismissed and as if our pets health didn't matter. Note: I specifically told the receptionist that he wasn't eating, panting all day from stress and scratching non stop.

After my dog had an emergency encounter with a fish hook, we drove to this vets office. They were very fast in their check in process and understanding in the situation. These lady’s showed true care for dogs (and I’m sure any other animals that come in) and helping them get back to tip top shape. They efficiently went over protocols, health history, price estimates with us. There was a low wait time and they even encouraged us to go out to get something to eat while we waited, really helped us destress from a very stressful morning. I’m very thankful for this animal hospital!
