I visited prolly 4 or 5 times before writing my review. Little critters and reptiles are generally pretty clean although I think they have to many reptiles in a single tank. (4 or 5 uromastyx in one tank. Multiple adult bearded dragons. With usually only 1 hid and food bowl, the reptiles cages are generally pretty clean.There's 2 big negatives which would make me not buy anything here personally. The first being customer service I've literally never had anyone at the store even acknowledge me. Never been asked if I needed help or even a hello or anything.The biggest issue I have is the condition of their bird cages. Some of them have so much poop caked on them it doesn't look like they have bee. Cleaned in awhile. They also seem very overcrowded. The bird cages generally don't have clean water not sure if it'd from lack of care or overcrowded but if these were dogs and cats it would a creutly case for sure.

Find another store! The manager, Brad, is very rude and uncooperative. Their aquarium maintenance service caused me to lose expensive fish and coral. When I told them I wanted a refund they refused. The attached photos were taken the same day of their service and within only a few hours. If you value your aquarium like I do, go somewhere else!

Martin, Brad, Richard, and the rest of the staff are wonderful!!! I was having an issue with one of my fish tanks and went in, talked to Martin, and followed his recommendation and my tank is clearing up!!! They are all so helpful and nice!! I will definitely be shopping here for all my future fish needs!!!

Always enjoy visiting the pets at Dubey's. My daughter fell in love with this red headed Amazon parrot. She was the sweetest. We will definitely be visiting her again.

I have to say I've always enjoyed going there, they have a great variety but I bought three potted plants for my aquarium, one Krib cichlid fish, It said $9 on the aquarium they almost charge me $15 instead, one air stone and some liquid fertilizer for my aquarium..It cost me$67??? Two of the potted plants were $14 a piece... wow....very expensive fish store.. I have to say I'll be buying all my plants online from now on... I stopped buying fish at this store awhile back because they're fish ended up being twice as expensive as some other pet stores in the area, .... Just a little bit disappointed on their prices... But they have great variety of plants, if you can afford them.. I just don't see the justification of their prices when you come by the same things at other pet stores for much much less..... Also the guy who waited on me.. he acted like I was doing him a disservice by interrupting him while he was cleaning the aquarium.. wasn't very friendly and really didn't seem to care that I was even in the store. . I wasn't really impressed with his attitude... I have to say I won't be going there again.... I need to care more about their customers..

My daughter and I bought a parrolett from here and we are extremely pleased. Everyone in the store was nice and very helpful and very friendly. I really don't understand why people give them bad reviews because Ive honestly been in way worse pet stores. I felt like their pets are very well taken care of and the staff was very helpful and very nice both times we were in there.

Cool variety of supplies and animals. Lots of spiders and other invertebrates.When I went the hard scape section was a bit bare, but I still found some cool rocks and dried mushrooms 🍄, which I've never seen at any other pet store.

So glad I decided to stop in at this pet store, now it’s my go-to! Their isopod collection is insane and has so much more than your standard powder varieties. Literally no other store in Alamance will be able to give you the same (trust me, I’ve looked). Prices were within a reasonable range, especially when compared to very expensive reputable online breeders that require risky travel for the isopods. Very confused by some of the reviews because I had a pleasant customer service experience. It was pretty busy the first time I went but I was still checked in on by 2 or 3 different employees. One gentleman was so patient with me as he individually showed me five or six different isopod colonies. He was in the middle of doing some stocking when I finally made my decision and let him know to take his time as I wasn’t in a rush, he still stopped everything he was doing right then to make sure I was taken care of.As for the people complaining about prices, of course they’re going to seem a little high compared to the chain stores. Big chains will always cut corners where they can and while it might save you a dollar or two, the quality definitely suffers. There have been several occasions of me going to PetSmart looking at isopods and springtails just to find they were all dead. Dubey’s prices are definitely reasonable but they are not the Walmart of pet supplies, which is a GOOD thing. I’d much rather pay an extra dollar to support a local business.

I have mixed feelings about this pet store. The variety of birds and fish available is great. But I’m specifically concerned about the birds. Most of the birds have a spacious cage. I understand that Dubey’s takes rescues that may have been neglected, so I know why not every bird looks their best. Other than those, the birds themselves look pretty good. But the cleanliness is another story. The macaws cage had a bunch of rotting vegetables with flies sitting at the bottom. Almost every water bowl cage was dirty. There was a huge amount of poop under this one cockatiel who seemed like they perch in that one spot a lot. Just a lot of poop in general. This store seriously needs to improve its hygiene, especially for the birds. A pet store will naturally have its own odor because it has animals inside, but the stench of this place is too much.

Love Dubeys. I bought my Leopard, Bilbo there a few months back as a youngin. He's doing great. Everytime I go in to get worms and dubias they are always super cool. Guy gave us a tour once and told us about all the incredible birds they have. I'd give 6 Stars if I could.

I went here with my partner and brother while my partner and I where visiting family. This is the worst pet store conditions I have seen. Geckos in rubbermaid containers. Two large rabbits sharing half a enclosure. Birds with the feathers falling out. Geuni pigs with the fur falling out it's just awful. The over crowding is awful. I also have pictures to show what I saw.

I was pleasantly surprised with the vast variety of fish and aquarium plants they have! The gentleman that helped me was friendly and knowledgable. We loved walking around the store and seeing the other animals too! They don't look mistreated or neglected at all. We will most definitely continue our business with Dubey's!

Worse customer service... Have absolutely no idea what their talking about.. bought fruit flies a week ago had no choice to give this place business as I needed them produced 20 flies for $20... Then went in to get a newer cup and they tried to sell my another cup with date 12/20 the culture that had no media left for flies to reproduce .. they take 10 days to start producing and then last about 3-4 weeks it's Feb 5th... Not the first horrible experience with some of the staff and products... And dead fish floating in their front water feature pond... I have seen improvement in most animal care but being talked to and trying to convince me a product good when is no good and lying to my face is not good practice..

I love this place they have a bunch of animals and a lot of things you might need for your pet. The staff are very friendly! They have pellets to purchase for a quarter to feed the huge fish in front. Me and the kids love to come here and just look at all the animals.

Been coming here for my fish endeavors and they are great! Their fish are great quality, and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. My tank was getting foggy and they gave me just the solution to help clear it up as well as some plants and a pleco! I look forward to going back and getting more fish to add to my tank! 🤗🤗 before and after of a little less than a week!

Love the cats that live here they're so friendly!! When we went yesterday several employee's were cleaning reptile 🦎 cages which was great to see, you can tell they keep the animals & their critters in good care. Super friendly staff! Oh yes, some of those pics are of BABY GUINEA PIGS!! Too cute!!

Went here today looking for a snake and was immediately welcomed into the store. They let us hold the snakes we were interested in and were very knowledgeable when it came to snakes. It’s a very professional workplace and everyone there was extremely friendly. Perfect place to find an exotic pet. We left the store with our first ever exotic pet and couldn’t be more pleased. I will definitely be making more visits to this store.

I got my sweet boy Lycan (use to be named Kenny) the werewolf Guinea pig from here just 2 days ago! We have been looking for the perfect piggie for a while and he was the perfect fit! We went to the vet for his first visit today and got a 100% clean bill of health. He is scheduled for his neuter surgery next week:) We loved him so much that I went back and got him 2 new friends today. I love this pet store all the animals are cared for, clean and handled often. All of the employees are always super friendly and always willing to help with any advice or suggestions. I have been coming here once a week for years sometimes daily lol for all my exotic pets needs. For the amount of animals they have it’s does not smell and all the pets always have fresh food and water. I will continue to come here for all my pet needs and my new exotic babies!!! (The shavings on him are from his travels lol!) I could not be happier he was so over looked for so long! He ended up right where he needed to be!

Truly a unique and fun store. The staff is highly knowledgeable and kind to everyone. All the animals, reptiles, fish, etc. are compassionately cared for.My story is that I recently bought a gorgeous baby green cheeked conure. I visited Dubey’s almost everyday to bond with her until she was old enough to come home. The point is that I spent A LOT of time at Dubey’s and can’t recommend them enough. Just the best.

Haven't been to Dubey's since it was in Cum-Park Plaza. Very nice upgrade, they were super polite and helpful. Lots of things to look at. I had to wait to checkout which was a little annoying but overall my experience was great. 4 out of 5 stars 🌟

Totally disappointed. Was in there for 15 minutes and never got waited on or asked if they could help me in anyway. Don't go there looking for puppy toys cause they don't have much to choose from.

I recently found this pet shop and it’s fantastic! I bought a Koi fish and some filters for my fish tank. The stuff are very knowledgeable and helped me when I had questions on a certain item, definitely getting my fishes here and even my guinea pigs.

I went in today for the first time, and was amazed at the number and variety of animals for sale in this unassuming storefront. Exotic birds, rabbits, snakes, baby tarantulas and other spiders, iguanas. If you need anything for your pets and want something high quality, look here.

The box choice for feeder mice is not ideal. Make sure they actually tape the box!

Stopped to check out this shop traveling from Charlotte to Raleigh. I was not disappointed. They have a massive variety of fish, fowl, and critters to check out. I will definitely be stopping there on every trip back home.
