I love this Food Lion. I usually order online and pick up at the store because it keeps me from overbuying (and I HATE grocery shopping) and the shoppers at this store are great! They are always polite and do their best to make reasonable substitutions. I've asked them to add an item or make a cheaper substitution in the messages and they've always been friendly and accommodating (and I make sure not to spam them or ask for too much). Overall, I now prefer to shop at this Food Lion over Walmart because of the customer service. They might be slightly higher on some prices, but it really evens out when you consider specials, coupons, and MVP deals. And you're getting better products. Thank you to the managers at this location because you're running the store well. Please treat your employees well, too, so they stick around because they really make this a wonderful location.

The Food Lion on New Hope Road is the best one in a 3 or 4 county area. Great employees and plenty of them to help you in the aisles and check you out in an efficient and courteous manner. Fresh merchandise, with none of the stockout problems I find elsewhere. This one can compete with any other chain, and it shows by the steady volume of customers there all day long. "Thank you!"

This Food Lion is SO much better than the location on Ash St. The parking lot is less crowded even when the store is busy and there are always check out lanes open. I hardly ever have to wait in a long line to get checked out which means I can get in, get what I need, and leave within a reasonable amount of time. The store is bigger and the layout makes things so much easier to find. The meat counter is well stocked and all the diary items are behind closed doors which I feel makes them a little bit fresher as they're not exposed to temperature changes. The employees are friendly as I almost always see them assisting customers whether it be during check out or on the sales floor. The building is always clean as I have yet to experience the store being dirty or unkept. Also this store has free Wifi and the other location does not. This means a lot when you need to look up ingredients for a recipe or use an app that aids in the shopping experience. If I have time I ALWAYS come to this location because they're friendly and I can always get what I need.

Not the best or friendliest Food Lion around. I used to live across the street from it decades ago and it was a great place to go. I now only go when I pass it on the way to visiting my mother.I have seen management yell at customers for being "stupid" for standing in a line after a light gets turned off. I am not referring to they got into the line after the light was turned off. I mean they were already there. The old man only had two items and an "assistant manager" turned off a cashier's light so her drawer could be counted down. She proceeded to berate everyone in that line to get out of line and go to the only register open. This was a year ago, so not sure if she still works there. If she does, management needs to wear a uniform instead of casual clothing with a name tag.Cashiers always act like life is horrible, as over the past five years I have not been there to see a smiling or welcoming face at the register or on the floor. And on the subject of "on the floor", trying to get help finding something is pointless. With remarks like "it's over there" or "every aisle has signs" it's not the best way to ensure return business. There are other Food Lion stores around that are far better than this one. The few in downtown Goldsboro have much better customer service, even though they are run down.The great prices is the only reason keeping it from a one star review. If you want to go to Food Lion while living in Goldsboro area; Mar Mac, Ash St, LaGrange are far better examples of great customer service.

Great store; clean and well stocked but most of the cashiers are so unfriendly and unprofessional it makes shopping there unpleasant. Certain ones never greet you, make eye contact or say anything at all unless you were to ask a question or make small talk. And it's like that most every time I go in there. For that reason alone I would suggest that you take your business elsewhere. I would actually prefer they install self checkouts rather than use their rude and unfriendly staff. I have started shopping at WM more and use this store less often; usually only when they have a good sale on products I use a lot of. Very bad customer service.EDIT TO SAY: Someone must have gotten the message because customer service has much improved. Thank you.

It's always clean, the employees are always more than helpful. Ive been using this grocery store since 2007 and it's really the only grocery store I shop at. Amazing people, prices and clean store.

What's up with the supply of Diet Dr Pepper? 6-pack of bottles specifically. All 3 Food Lions near me never have it on the shelf the many afternoons and evenings I've been to the stores. You're missing out on lots of sales!! I still give y'all 4 stars but I've noticed that if you want everything on your shopping list you better get to the store before 2pm. Popular/sales items will be empty. I know employees are hard to find but I think y'all would see a spike in sales if you had a stock crew that came in at like 2pm. Just a suggestion. Lots of money to be made that's just not on the shelf at 5pm in all the stores I've been to.

Poor customer service..Every time it barely changes. I unfortunately continue to go bc of convenience in the area I live .. But most cashiers won’t even speak. Just checked out with Rena and she wouldn’t even speak after being spoken to. Terrible customer service.

For the most part a great grocery store, well stocked and always clean. The deli is really nice & meats are excellent, especially the Wild Inspirations honey ham, YUM!!! Would like to see more variety of foods.

I visited this Food Lion as an EMERGENCY bathroom stop on the way to the beach - I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the restroom. So pleased & relieved that I proceeded to visit 2 more Food Lion toilets over the course of the next 30 mins or so.

I am probably partial, but we have one of the nicest Food Lions on New Hope Road, Goldsboro, NC. They work hard to keep the store very clean. The produce area is well tended, as is the meat department. In fact, all areas are maintained well. I'v never com across a staff member, young or older, who isn't pleasant and friendly. Well done,!

This is my neighborhood Food Lion and it's convenient to be able to stop there in my way home or when I need a grocery item I can get it quickly. This store is always well stocked with items I buy and the weekly specials are great. Great place to shop.

I absolutely love Food Lion. The produce is always nice. The deli has the best meats, cheese, cakes and cupcakes. The even have fresh mozzarella cheese. The meats are usually good quality and taste good. They have a good variety of pet food and accessories, such as dog and cat food. Kitty litter as well as feeding bowls. They have dog and cat toys. There is even a cooler in the pet isle with dog car food.If you are on a budget, you can't beat the Food Lion brands as well as the cha-ching brand.Over all a wonderful shopping experience.

It's a grocery store, what can you say. Usually have what I'm looking for. Price's are reasonable. Store is clean. Occasionally they may have an aisle partially block stocking shelves, but overall I have no complaints

Very quick and organized. Also, one employee went out of his way to find what I really wanted in the back and didnt fuss once. Instead, he lifted all those heavy boxes and talked to me, all with a huge smile on his face. This is why I choose food lion over walmart any day.

I give it a 5 but theres a white blondie skinny long blinde head female who didn't want to choose me on her register just cause I'm hispanic.. I'm Puerto rican people.. not everyone is immigrant... need more improvement in the employees behaviour.. the store is for shopping and for every color,sex, dont matter.. all is welcome
