They were slower than quoted. Was chosen for there later appointment times but then had to show up early to get serviced. Could have went elsewhere if I knew I was going to have to leave work early anyways. Price was high. Only one tech. They were nice enough but they wasted 3 hours for an hour and a half job.

My experience was amazing I booked through a third party just for an oil change, the app was giving me issue and the front deck salesman Lu was absolutely amazing and patient. I would most certainly come back and recommend them to someone else.

The absolute worse place to do business. The service work is fine but the customer service is terrible. My son waited 4 hours to have a tail light bulb replaced. He was told it would be one hour at 12 noon and his repairs were not done until 4pm. He asked if he should come back later and was told if he did they would not replace it. He's 17 and had no idea what do so he waited. I was out of town so he felt he had no choice. I tried calling the store but no one would ever answer. I even called their corporate office and they would not answer for them. I have 5 sons, all with cars as well as my wife and mine. We have done business with Pep Boys for years, but the service has gone downhill. We will never go to Pep Boys again, anywhere for any reason. If I could give negative stars I would. This is unacceptable.

Called to ask what was a realistic time frame for repair.They were very honest and told me it could be an hour or maybe 30 additional minutes due to the fact if they had to remove cover part to get to the issue. Reason for this review, I had another appointment same day with another shop when asked the same question their response was could be an hour could be by close. WHAT? Don’t like inconsistently. You guys had me complete in 1 hour exactly as you stated. Super friendly and very knowledgeable.Will be making this my go to shop for my vehicle needs.

I don’t appreciate the attitude these people have with me. Literally just wanted to get home, but the workers were giving me an attitude. I got there at 5, and yes I understand they go home at 5:30 but they act like I WANTED to be there. Like I just want my tire and I can go home, I CANT GO HOME WITHOUT A TIRE. I had NO choice cause no other tire store were open. So I don’t appreciate the attitude the guy up front had with me. This is my first and this is my last time being here.

I had nothing but a bad experience dealing with pepboys. I had tires installed December 10th 2023 after leaving my steering wheel was shaking violently after my truck reached 45-50 mph I returned to have my tires looked at and balanced again everything seemed fine then the same exact thing happened again anytime i would go over 45-50 mph my steering wheel would shake violently. I made another appointment this being my third visit. My appointment was at 5pm on a Friday I show up around 4:50 and talked with Lou at the front counter and he tells me the technician in the back is too stressed to look at my truck that day so I would have to come back at a later time. I finally had enough and took my truck to bishop tire and auto and was in and out in about 30 minutes they found my right rear tire had a broken belt. I got them to put what they found in writing and returned to pepboys to have the tire replaced. I arrIved and talked with lou and he made a warranty claim to replace the tire. He originally told me they had the tire in stock and after 20 minutes of waiting in the lounge he came a notified me they did not have the tire in stock that they would have to order it from a store in Charlotte. So this makes the fifth time I had to come back all over something the technician could’ve caught on the second visit but I guess the technicians are careless, also the manager Michael is very unprofessional talking to customers over the phone. If I could give this place zero stars I would, overall terrible experienceTo any customers reading this i would recommend going to bishop tire and auto in mount holly where the technicians are honest and aren’t slimy

The staff seems to be very nice and courteous. However, after purchasing 4 new tires and having them mounted and balanced I noticed the car driving a bit weird. The TPMS had the following readings: driver front 47 psi, passenger front 32 psi, driver rear 45 psi, passenger rear 43 psi. Something as simple as tire pressure was so far off that it really makes me question the entire process.

Well my 1st experience was pleasant,got a alignment but car was still shaking so I took it back,than check in and drove car to back then a guy took keys and left with car for about 30min,so I tell the Manager, because we Outside heyy call that guy see where he is,and guy didn't answer so he went inside,to have them call him so I walk down to a store next door to pepboys,come out car is finally back,I say what u find out he say u have a nail in tire I'm like u been gone 39min in my car and big is that nail is I would have seen it,so than I call corporate they offer a 10%discount, which I feel differently isn't enough for already brand new tires,and corporate never called me back because for one I feel like he shouldn't had been gone in my car that long,and 50% would've been sufficient because, I never seen a nail in my tires before going there and I'm sure the tires would had been flat before I went down there,long as that nail was,and was soo noticeable,how could I had missed it

All those people who rated this place 2* and above, you are either lying or were service by some great people. My experience here was worse than terrible.I booked an appointment with Pep Boys at 3028 E Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28056 on 10/10/2023 for 10AM. I reached at 9.45am and dropped the car by 10am. I was told I would get a call/sms when the car was ready. I went to a few other stores. After for about 1 hour 45 minutes for an update, I went back in an enquired for an update. The car had not been touched. I was rudely told that the car before mine was still being worked on and that I would have to wait. I was okay with that. But then, the person in another counter told me in an even ruder tone that they were backed up by days and that I'd have to leave my car there for a week.At this point, I was utterly disappointed, so I decided to take my car elsewhere. I thought I would check online to see if I could go to another Pep boys location. I found an appointment online at 5020 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28217 on 10/11 (next day) at 12.30pm. I took the vehicle there and told them about the leaking coolant and the puddle of coolant in my garage floor. They suggested that I do a coolant leak test. They did the test, couldn't find anything. They then suggested a 20 point inspection. I agreed. They did the inspection and then the result was that they could not find the main cause of the leak. So, after 4 hours of waiting in the store, I ended up paying for nothing.The "experts" at Pep Boys then suggested that I take a video and photograph of the leaking (in their words), "in the act". I took the vehicle home and the same night I saw a puddle of the coolant leaking from the car. I took a video of the coolant leaking from the car. Then, I called pep boys at south blvd and told them about the leak and that I had evidence. At this point, the car was leaking even more than it did. When I inspected further, the pep boys at south blvd has taken off the engine cover under the car and had forgotten to put it back. I asked them if they had an appointment and they said they could not look at the car for atleast 2 weeks.I took my car finally to a local auto repair shop and they immediately told me what the problem was. The car was ready the next day. I am extremely disappointed and annoyed with the service these so called experts provide.

Years later. Company is still doing same thing. Failed my car inspection, then tried to upsell me 4 tires. Failed for 2 low tread tires. Then only offered 60k mile rated tires. When I said I didn't plan on having the car much longer , did they have any cheaper options, they said best they could do was remove the warranty on the tires, that I didn't ask for to begin with. Very dissapointed.

Great service this most recent visit, went in for an alignment, rotation and balance. Tech completed the job in a reasonable amount of time and made sure the alignment was as close to perfect as possible.If you want service to your vehicle definitely make an appointment, they are usually busy.

First off I know how challenging working customer service can be. To add on to that, I am one that never leaves a bad review unless it is absolutely warranted. In this case it is. In my 36 years of living, I have never had the worse type of customer service as I did with Gastonia Pep Boys. So much so that I will never spend another dime at the store for the remainder of my life. I ordered 4 new Goodyear tires for my charger R/T. Even had to make a appointment where I used time away from work, which I'll never get back, for them to text me a hour before hand saying they had no closer and my tires weren't in stock yet (which the website said they were in stock at Gastonia). So the appointment I made was moved to Sunday, (used time for nothing). Sunday comes, they act like they didn't know I had a appointment, guess what? Tires were still not in stock. Then they said they would put on michelin, which I looked up and shown were better quality than what I ordered. I was like ok, at least their trying to fix it. Did I gets michelin? No. I got kumho. Which in my eyes because of the price, seems to be the cheapest they had, and they played it off like they were giving me a deal. I will never shop at pep boys again.

After spending close to $3000.00 and several trips back to them the check engine light keeps coming on. They do not seem to know what they are doing I watched the technician take a pry bar and try to force the wiper arm off thus causing damage to the wiper motor actuator snd I had to purchase a new one (this is a separate issue from the check engine light) also there are some brand new parts still in the original box with the store name on them that I paid to have installed and they we’re laying in the floor board. I demand a refund on services so that I can take this vehicle to a Chevy dealer to have it fixed properly I had the check engine light problem diagnosed and it is the same diagnosis that you guys have had in the shop the last two times. This place is a joke and if it isn’t resolved soon I will place it in my attorney’s hands and will sue for not only a refund but also for attorney fees and car rental. I have never asked for anything for nothing and I did not mind paying however the vehicle has not been repaired

I had the most amazing experience at Pep Boys Gastonia. If you need something ask for Andrew. He was such a blessing. My car was towed to Pep Boys. Parts for my car have been discontinued and are hard to find. Andrew worked his magic and had my car up and running in no time. I can't thank him enough everything.

I appreciate they changed the tires on the car for a decent price but telling us there was so much wrong with the car that it sounded like it wasn’t safe to drive then turned around and said it was perfectly fine to drive is not ok so we got a second opinion and nothing was wrong with what was mention. If something was wrong with it to the point of their description we were provided and got told it was safe to drive and we had listen and something bad had happened because we didn’t go get a second opinion someone could’ve gotten hurt. But luckily turns out nothing was wrong with it because we got the second opinion for safe measures because answers didn’t add up from the employees. If we had replaced the things that were mentioned without getting the second opinion it would’ve either put us in debt or we would be down a car.

The worst service possible I have ever experienced. The tech recommended I replace the 2 rear tires which where new 4 months ago and leave the bald tires on the front. And this joke goes on . No time for more comments. I had them replace the front tires. See photo. Please have someone call me

I own a 2016 Ford Explorer (80k miles) that I RARELY drive. My check engine light came on the 1st time for over heating & they changed 1 spark plug, they "fixed it". Not even 24 hours later my check engine light came on AGAIN & they stated I needed a head gasket, timing belt & water pump. We stated that doesn't sound right for the age & milege for that car. We declined & you can tell the TECHS was upset / surprised we didn't have them to work on it. We changed all spark plugs & engine coil & it only costs us $350. They would have gotten over on me for over $3,100+. BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION!!

Quoted over $1000 for additional repairs. Sitting at a third auto repair shop doing my due diligence and find out that none of those repairs are needed. Also purchased brand new tires for my vehicle and had a technician come show me multiple bulges and weak spots on tires less than 90 days old. Called store to give them a chance to handle the situation appropriately and they failed. Consumers beware.

This is the second time that I've changed this review.I don't know what happened at this Pep Boys location but it's gotten a lot better. The staff are friendlier & they seem to understand that my time is important.Katelyn is great with the Hertz rental car drivers. But really, everyone is very nice and accommodating.

Had a great experience at Pep boys in Gastonia. Katlin and Ryan where wonderful to work with, friendly and very helpful. Had tires shipped directly to the store and installed. Alignment was fast and accurate. They had me in and out in less then 2 hours. Would recommend. Great staff
