The manager Myra is an absolute Karen. They have signs of buy one get 2 free items for Christmas promotion and they are not honoring them and not telling you. The perfect scam. After having Myra yell at me like a child she ran and took the signs down and wouldn’t honor them. The customer service was atrocious and disgusting. I hope Myra has the day she deserves !

Update; March 2, 2024The place had different staff members for me. When I bought one item and paid for cash they tested the cash to make sure it was real. Wow I guess I'm in the ghetto... 🤣Besides that the older manager wasn't there. There was some nice cashiers. Staff didn't engage much with people. The kind of bypassed customers. It must be the area. I'm not used to going into a place where no one talks to you.The place was just basic to me. It had a lot of Gastonia items for homes. I didn't look at the clothing. The shoes are pretty much plain and just above the cut above a Walmart store.2022 Review:I actually was enjoying my shopping experience when the main manager interrupted me. I was shopping and taking photos to show how clean and organized the store was when she appeared with another employee.She asked me why I was taking pictures. I explained that I am doing a Google map review. She seems puzzled and then told me that I was not allowed to take pictures and it was against corporate policy. I told her that it was under public domain. Then I told her that I wasn't going to add this incident to my review. Well, I am adding it after seeing some Yelp reviews. One of them mentioned her attitude. Then I thought of others that she intimidating. So here is my honest evaluation.The store is very organized, the employees are friendly. They have a lot of deals. Now as I walked through the store I was wondering if the main manager was stewing in her office watching me through the camera.Before I left I caught the second manager working hard with three employees. She understood the technology behind the review and was pleasant to talk with before I left out the door.My guess, she is the glue that keeps the customers coming back. Please have the main manager attend training on customer relations and technology. Also tell her positive reviews would help her store. I was nice to take pictures of the items that would not taint your store. 💙🧡I am definitely going to do a follow up in a month. Maybe on Yelp. I would have given you you 4 or 5 but I did not feel safe with a manager that think customers are employees???

Tonight when I went in to shop (as a person of color) I always purchase a number of things and I have never been harassed, watched or followed around a store. Tonight after working out (in gym clothes) as soon as I go into the store, the lady makes an announcement to scan all departments! Really, no one is even in the store. I should have left then. All of the management staff look trashy, unprofessional and have poor appearances. The white guy kept showing up in every department I was in. This turns loyal customers off! Why do all that following if you're watching cameras! Very sad because I usually spend good money when I shop there! I will be returning ALL purchased items tomorrow and will not ever set foot back into this store. Amazon needs to hurry and put these stores out of business!

i like this store. I'm here every week 🙃. there are always deals. you have to be the type of shopper that enjoys digging through racks because items are all over the store in various places and the discount clothing rack is a mish mesh. there's always nice seasonal decor, "as seen on tv" items, kitchen gadgets i didn't know I needed, snacks galore and yard decor. it's worth a visit.

It's like Home Goods & Marshall's had a baby & let it run wild, lol. There is stuff *everywhere* but the sale prices are hard to beat. Go when you have plenty of time to look & shop because they have a lot!

If I could give a no star rating I will. Trudy the MOD is an unpleasant woman. I will be reporting her to the overall company. How is it that if you have the receipt to a purchase you did yesterday and not return it the next day? Yes, the item was unused the only thing was the box was opened. How would I know how the material will feel but there is no signs before you buy the item, of something that says you can not return if opened that is not on the policy.

This store is hit or miss. It is hard to maneuver through the store in some areas. Lots of stuff very close together in some aisles. The staff is always friendly and I can find a few good deals. Be sure to check out the shoe department for some great deals.

Visited the store with my wife, both of us welled dressed, after 10 mins in the store we noticed every where we went the section was called out over the intercom. We tested the theory and went to the other side of store and sure enough they called out to record that section, went to the front by mens clothing and they called out to record that section. We decided it was time to leave before I lost my cool, at checkout the total was $87 and some change, handed the lady a $100 she didn't want to take it said it had a small tear in it, handed her 5 $20 that she marked 3 times each yes 3 times. This was one of the most racist moments in my life and I'm almost 50. I'll never set foot in any Hamricks and the Fayetteville NC location was my favorite but never again thanks to this location. Hamrick's educate your staff, sad to see good customers ran off by uneducated trashy staff. Thank you Joyce for reminding me of my place.

Don't like going in the store due to how the store is so clutter and when you do want to purchase something if you are of color they are watching you like you are stealing or the area your in they make an announcement over the intercom about security in the location you are in. I assumed it was a protocol however after going in again and again to give this store a chance you always hear the same announcement. Very uncomfortable, therefore, I kindly place the items back and leave ASAP.

I went to Hamrick's and was surprised at all the sales going on. They have about anything you are looking for. I had heard about sandals and the sales on them. I was amazed by all of the different styles and the prices! I got several pair of sandals from $10, $15, & $20.With all of the items inside this store you'd think it would be strewn everywhere but the store was very clean.. You should go check it out for yourself! Nice

The deals are outstanding. However as black male I felt the atmosphere was very unwelcoming. Any time I turned an isle i would hear groups stop there gleeful chats, this in particular didn’t bother me a ton. However once at the checkout the register operator was very cold and callous to me she seemed as if I was commits cardinal sin and hear stare was very intimidating. Frankly I felt as if a klan member holding burlap sack was gonna pop up and grab me while I was shopping. 10/10 for sales but the environment was giving me sundown town vibes. Won’t be back unless I have a buddy with me.

Excellent store to find great bargains! Make sure when you find something on sale... to scan it! You may be surprised and get it even cheaper. ( I just went in to buy a purse that was advertised for $22.00.... retailed for $98.00.. and I scanned the purse to make sure that it was for sure one of the $22.00 advertised purses and that someone hadn't just layed it on that shelf... and to my surprise it scanned for $12.00 !! ) Boy, was I a very happy lady. I now had $10.00 left to buy me a wallet to go with my purse. They have really great merchandise for men and women... not so much for children... but you can find some.

This is my favorite store now! There are just so many odds and ends with extremely good deals. This store is a hidden gem. They have lots of items of the country modern variety, which is my style. I am in heaven! The staff are also very helpful and friendly. I could spend hours and hundreds of dollars here.

It was a really great place to shop. I haven't shopped there in a long time, because a couple of the workers I felt only watched Black people. They were only helping and staying on top of people of color. Then all I heard was gossiping in the corner. So I chose not to spend my money in that store. I happened to stop in there today because I saw the sidewalk sale on there t shirts and I needed one. Well the atmosphere was wonderful. Everyone working getting product out. No gossiping. All associates were helping people of all color. Cashiers were very friendly. I was really a enjoyable place to be in.

Love shopping 🛍️ at Hamrick's of Gastonia. Such a variety of items, especially this time of year!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I couldn't find anyone working on the floor to ask directions to where something was located. They had the floor arranged well for checking out. One place only, to get in the one line so people couldn't jump in front of someone else. Then there is a long table with 4 or 5 registers and the line moves very well as when one clerk finishes with her customers check-out, she says "Next". Even when the line is very long, it moves along very quickly.

This store is OK. But it is NOT handicap friendly. Hard to get in and out of. From the main doors and thru out the store, forget having to use a wheelchair. Parking lot is horrible.!! If U don't sink in a hole with ur car, try pushing a wheelchair.!! The isles in the store are not wide enough to get thru. The store needs REARRANGING bad.!!! And I wish U could actually find someone to assist U when U need something. The older generation really likes to shop here but for those that have to bring them and get them across a broken up parking lot and then thru a door that is not handicapp(not to mention forget anyone holding) and try to squeeze a wheelchair thru a 2ft isle opening, ALL of this, is definately NOT WORTH IT.

Also lady argued with me about a price change when the sign stated it was that price O should receive it at that price I eventually got it for the price posted but she was very rude about it and had to wait an additional 20 minutes. Other then that great selection of items its like a mini walmart lol

Good store great deals large selection. I personally purchased underwear, pair of pants, top, and a pair of Clark's sandals for $50.00. My Clark's sandals cost that but they were only $20.00 great prices.

They always have unusual items and their prices aren't so bad. There have been some shirts I've seen that really should have been a lot less but all in all it's a good place to shop. there isn't much help when it comes to the floor everybody's on the cash register.

Neat little store, and Mom really likes it she bought a few items. It's was my first visit it had an assortment of clothing for men's children women I didn't get to look through the entire store but it looked like it had everything you would need or want. Nice helpful employees.
