Not sure what happened to this store but it used to be OKAY for a quick stop in to pick up some things; The store has taken a drastic turn. A lot of times when I come here, they are closed at odd hours of the day with a sign that says they aren't coming in until a certain time. This has happened on multiple occasions. Also, there are a ton of homeless people that hang out around the store, be cautious of your surroundings when you go here. The outside of the store is also very FILTHY. Trash everywhere in the parking lot, their trash bins around the side of store looks like a pig sty., NASTY. ALSO, I witnessed a grab and run while pulling up one day, guy literally walked out with a duffle bag while the clerk ran out of the store after him while on the phone with the cops!! Not to mention, the rows of items of carts waiting to be stocked in the alleys of the store, but this is universal it seems at all Dollar Generals. This location in particular is the WORST DG I have ever been too.

I was quite pleased with the quality and quantity of food that was served. Look at the size of the 4 chicken wings that were served as a combo with shrimp fried rice. The front of the restaurant was very clean, as was the counter area and the part's of the kitchen that I was able too see. There was only one unisex bathroom. While the floor itself was clean, it had been quite sometime since the sink and commode had been cleaned. There was also no soap, toilet paper or paper towels available for use. The restaurant itself stayed busy while we were there and everything was handicap accessible, but I was really not pleased with the condition of the bathroom. For a to-go order, I would place it in a minute. If you took the time to read this review, please take a 1/2 second and click like. Thank you. This is Tops China, not Dollar General Google.

I stopped in Thursday morning the parking lot and around store looked like a garage dump so unclean and nasty I've never seen a dollar general like this it was awful going inside store not much better shells empty nothing organized employees not friendly no one at front of store this is my 2nd time I've been in there will never go back looks like a pig pen Need to clean this place up Gastonia is a beautiful town but this store is awful

Be AWARE of what you are supposed to be charged. Not only are the shelf prices not matching the register price, but if there is a new sale starting and the registers aren't reset for the day, you WILL NOT get that sale price.I was Overcharged. It was the End of the day, which means that people had been Cheated and OVERCHARGED ALL DAY. I decided to purchase the items at the higher price and come back for the adjustment. I was told by the manager that she won't be adjusting anything. The nighttime key holder is a young black female and she has the Worst attitude and displays horrible customer service. She always acts as though she doesn't want to be there. I Encourage you to do the survey at the bottom of your receipt if you experience similar situations.

I'm not sure if she was a manager or not but this young lady is very very rude with everyone in the store employees and customers.. maam you applied fir this job and interviewed.. maybe you need to choose another job... not sure of her name but she is a slim African American woman...

Had a worker watch me the whole time I was in the store if it wasn't for me NOT WANTING TO go to Walmart I would of just left the important items I was needing which they only had one which was the main item. If your gonna watch ppl don't make it look so obvious. Or hell just walk with me.

Awesome store! I never had any issues at this particular store except for a minor incident with one of the older male employees, if not for the employee being kinda rude to me rolling his eyes && slightly sighing because I wanted a price check on a few things that I thought was a digital coupon item. But other than that I would have gave 5 stars! But I guess everyone had a bad day sometimes.

Cleanest Dollar General I have ever seen. The store manager is always very kind and helpful, the rest of the staff are great people. Always have what I need. The store also looks so full and organized. If only other store were like this the company would be top notch.

The store was being stocked during my trip on this day and there were racks in a number of various isles so it made kind of hard to get to items so I didn't make a purchase this trip. However, I did see a lot of really nice throws, area rugs for small spaces, and plenty of decor for those who love the farm house look.

I love all Dollar General stores, but this one is one of my favorites. It is so convenient, great customer service, and the music isn't blaring loud like some dollar generals I've been in. I really like to go in this store and do as often as possible! I highly recommend you visit if you have not done so yet!

What really is there say about a Dollar General? I can't really say anything negative about the customer service as it just tends to be a background experience that's easy to forget, This is of course, what I expect from a Dollar General. This particular location has actually done rather well and the sense that you don't often have to wait in ni sort of long lines and the few times that I have, they were quick to call for help to get the line under control. The sole reason for the 3 star review for this location is a result of their floors, while I've never seen debris on the floors leading me to believe they're commonly swept, They do commonly seem to be dirty with a dingy appearance from what I expect is a lack of mopping or lack of proper mopping.

Store was disorganized and dirty. The last few times I've gone to Dollar General stores, it's always the same way.My two biggest disappointments with the store chain are the prices seem to be way to high and when I just want to run in real quick to get something, for example a small pack of toilet paper, the shelves are empty. It's the same shopping experience with other items as well.I can't tell anyone they would save money going to Dollar General.

This is the closest dollar store to us. The staff is always so friendly and the items always seem to be stocked as soon as possible. The only thing I would note is that the parking lot and sometimes the store remain a tad on the dirty side...but, nothing to stop me from going there to get the essentials

The restroom here was flooded and the toilet paper had fallen into the water and been put up on the handicapped rail. Meanwhile, it was a two stall restroom with no doors on the stalls. Other than that, it was a dollar general. Poor customer service as represented by this. I do not usually go to dollar general but there was nothing else nearby and I had a request to pick something up. Next time, I will keep looking for something else.

Let me start by saying that I never take the time to post how I feel about things online, for goodness sake I don't even have a face book( no I'm not over 30 lol) because I think putting my business out for the world to see is ridiculous. This experience made me so upset that I just had to find a way to get it out into the public and hopefully see if I'm just being petty or justified in standing firm on my beliefs as a consumer. I got to the counter and the manager looked at me then kept working. When I told her I was ready to check out she looked me right in the eye and said "I'll be there in a few." I thought that when a customer wanted to spend money in your establishment you were suppose to stop having your very "vanilla" conversation and take their money...especially if what your doing(putting chips out) is less important than maintaining a positive relationship with the surrounding community. She then disappears down another aisle and leaves me waiting at the counter to wonder If she was actually serious, I got my answer when she stayed gone. I understand bad days, we all have them, but If i told one of my dying patients to "hold on a minute." I'd be thrown under the jail without the prospect of ever seeing daylight again. Please understand that what I do and what this lady does for a profession is like comparing apples and oranges, but needless to say it's the principal of the matter. Long story short. I promptly placed my money back in my wallet and went to another store where when I walked up to the counter the employee promptly stopped what she was doing and checked me out without hesitation. If I could give this location zero stars I would, but I believe that it would be more than they deserve. Seeing as though this will never be read or see the light of day I guess I'll just use this platform as my own little soapbox to sound off and let out a little steam from this HORRIBLE experience. Should I mention that this lady was training a new employee. How's that for promoting a good work ethic?!A TRULY UNSATISFYING EXPERIENCE!👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

I swear, I thought cashiers had to know basic math before working with money. Apparently not here. My total was 4.07 and I gave the guy a 20. I told him I had 7 cent. He said, "so? Why are you telling me that?" I said, "sir, my total was 4.07. I just didn't want to get $.93 in coins." Then he says, "oh I've already completed the transaction in the register, I can't go back now." Really? Needless to say I don't shop here anymore. Several of the staff are rude. Not that big of a deal though, there's a DG on every corner. 🤷‍♀️

Good selection, good prices, nice staff, horrible cleaning. This store is not clean. The floors, shelves, storage room, and bathrooms are all nasty. I know they have a tough job but cleaning is also part of that job.

Racist. I asked if the clerk was checking anyone out and she told me no.A white woman walked up to the register and was able to check out.I went back to the register and said "I thought this register wasnt open." The clerk's manager said she isn't open. My response was I'm standing right here watching you take her money while you tell me to stand back in line and wait.After the white woman left the manager said "Shes open now and can take you. We were doing a shift change before."How can it be a shift change when I'm watching you check someone out?How could you not be open while breaking a bill and completing a transaction in front of my face?

There is an older man that works in the evenings. Though he's been fine with me, he puts down and is rude to customers both to their face and making comments about them to other customers. I can't believe he still has a job. That's you Charlie in case anyone couldn't figure that out.

This store is dirty and very un-organized. The staff is definitely different. I am not a DG shopper because every store that I have ever been in is dirty and "stuff" is thrown on top of other stuff. Parking lot is always dirty.

2.1 Stars, Not a fan of Dollar General stores. They might at well be a CVS or equivalent store. Prices are far from being inexpensive and when they are good, its only because it's fisher price made. I was shopping in the store the other day and ask to use the restroom, they said it was out of order, which is not true because I saw someone just coming out. Kinda, being treated like homeless, or someone who was going to destroy the restroom. Anyways, Dollar General gets a 3.3 Star but this particular DG gets a 2.1 Stars.

The parking lot was full of trash on all the parking spaces. Somebody need to go out and police up all the trash. So sad to see in such a nice neighborhood. An eye sore for Gastonia, North Carolina.

This is great place if your looking for a quick snack or maybe some grocery. Be careful though some of the products are priced the same as grocery stores put have less product in them. Staff is nice👌

Too much talking and not enough working. The cashier have a whole live conversation with the lady checking out, while myself and 3 others waited impatiently in line. Geesh LADY MOVE A LITTLE FASTER

Store seemed dim and dingy. Theivery is an apperent problem in this location, however, they are not provided with adiquit anti-theft devices. Staff is very friendly, and helpful.

Great little store for picking up holiday essentials such as gift bags, wrapping paper, stocking stuffers, at a fraction of the price of other stores. Courteous staff and fully stocked shelves.

I have never had a bad experience at this Dollar General on Cox Rd. Employees are very helpful and always kind. I appreciate that very much.
