We visit here once a year and stay on the lake for 8 days. It's a trip we look forward to. Some of the nicest people. The Lake is Absolutely stunning. So many creeks to explore and trails to hike. Waterfalls, camping sites and loads of history to be learned. Highly recommend visiting. The boat ramp is steep but very easy to put in and take out. Great for just any size water craft.

Great marina, the helpful staff make it easy to rent a boat. Good selection of boats to enjoy Lake Fontana, but do book ahead as they are reserved in advance. The marina has a small souvenir shop and some basic shelf food and some ice cream. Yes there are (marine) bathrooms. Overall a pretty tranquil place to launch your lake adventure.

I haven't been on many giant man-made docks with general stores on them but I'm giving this one five stars.I may be a little biased because I live on Lake Michigan and this was the first significant body of waters I had seen in 3 months so it brought a smile to my face.But on a realistic note, the whole thing seems very nice. Clean and well kept. The store in the middle of the pier has a decent selection of stuff for hikers and folks in general.And on top of everything they had the stuff I needed to fix my shoes :)

Super clean boats for a reasonable price. The pontoons are pretty much brand new. I recommend reserving your boat online, in advance. They go fast! ;)

We visited the area for the 2017 eclipse. One of the most peaceful and beautiful places we've ever visited. We took the sunset cruise from the marina. We saw bald eagles, Fontana Dam and an incredible sunset. One of the places we'd love to revisit.

Rented an 18’ skiff/fishing boat. Very well equipped with GPS/sounder. Nearly new, very clean. Even though we don’t fish it had a trolling motor and second sounder. Staff was affixing and super friendly. Reasonable rates. Will definitely do it again!

Fontana Marina has become our 2nd family! Heath and his wife and pups put on a Kentucky Derby pot luck! It was Great! The mint juleps were super strong, lol. We had a great time! Everyone should put their boat in there!!!

Had a great time. Water was warm and inviting. Pontoon boat we rented was a little worn out but functional. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

My family loves it here. The kids beg us to take them back all summer long. We have always had a great experience. My dog suffers from separation anxiety which makes him hard to board. They are pet friendly so he gets to go too. 😁We rented a pontoon boat, tube and kayaks to enjoy the beautiful lake. Ate ice cream at the ice cream shop and laid back at the lazy river. We have eaten at the restaurant there and my daughter loves their fried green tomatoes. Brandon Jones is the marina manager and his wife Samantha will help you enjoy your stay here. 💕

Lots of options at the marina. All sort of rentals and a small shop with bait and tackle. Love that they have a shuttle service to some of the nearby back country sites. Would definitely get 5 stars if prices were a touch more reasonable.

We visited over Labor Day weekend and it as great. The service was quick and the Marina staff was helpful. We ended up kayaking and the water felt amazing. The drive in from our Airbnb was spectacular and I loved all the greenery.

Wonderful family day!! We were on vacation and had a great time!! Peddle boating and canoeing!! Our ages ranged from 14-72! Fun for the whole family! We even got to bring our family Yorkie along! The staff was the best! Highly recommended!! We wanted to book a pontoon but we didn't think ahead! Book that in advance!!

wonderful marina -- they have everything you need from beer to marine gas. great service and amazing pontoon boats for rental. the location is very convenient for many destinations on the lake. the setting is beautiful. this is a must-visit spot on Fontana Lake.

11-10-1998. My backpacking buddy and I hit NC 28 at about 1140 hours that day after several days on the AT. There was a bulletin board at the village boat ramp and an ad, at the time, saying how much the Village loved backpackers---so much so that they offer a shuttle service each way for $1 per person---unfortunately it was too late in the season (I wonder if that is still available and how much per person today?). We were also saddened to see that it was too late in the season for the buffet at the Village restaurant. Instead we ate at the Peppercorn, the only establishment open, arriving at high noon (it no longer appears to be open or has changed names).

First time renting a pontoon boat for the day at Fontana. When we arrived the guy (Im sorry, I didnt get his name) was super helpful, professional, friendly. Showed us everything we needed to have a great and safe experience. The boat itself was in great condition, as well as the tube and line. Fontana Lake is pristine. So clean and gorgeous, unspoiled beauty, we had a wonderful day tubing, swiming and exploring. As soon as we arrived back, 3 guys greated us and helped unload and chatted and very friendly. We had a wonderful day and would definitely go back. I wish all places were as professional, knowledgeable and friendly as the staff at Fontana! Thank you

Lake Fontana Marina is the nicest people. We scheduled a Pontoon boat rental via online, got to the Marina as scheduled. The Pontoon boat was ready, clean and the staff was so accommodating. We enjoyed our boat ride, water was absolutely refreshing for those who swam. We are looking forward to doing it again and one day hope to get a slip so we can have our own Pontoon boat.Five star PLUS better rates this Marina. What an awesome group of people at the Marina! We are from Oregon out here visiting family and friends. Very friendly, helpful people. We rented a pontoon boat for the day, it was clean and ready to go, they went over the operation of it and said go have fun, we did, what a beautiful lake it is. Hopefully when we come back next time they'll have their good hats so I can get one, lol.

In a totally different league compared to any other marina on this lake. World class marina, incredibly friendly and dedicated staff. And I am super impressed by the lake cleanup they organize and host every year to pick up all the trash that comes into the lake. 170,000lbs in 4 years they’ve removed! & they don’t make any money off of it, they just do it to give back! Excellent business.

Truly amazing staff and experience! Rented kayaks for my honeymoon 4 years ago and had to share the experience! We had to come back to FVR Marina! This year we invited two of our best friends on their honeymoon to join us on our anniversary.. this time on the deluxe pontoon! The boat was in perfect condition and the views were breathtaking! The memories we made will last a lifetime! We will be back to our little sliver of heaven on earth soon!

What a great day on the lake. I was advised by the Marina staff that renting a pontoon boat for an hour would be a great experience and it was. We saw plenty of the lake, got to relax and enjoy the pontoon boat and gorgeous scenery and be treated with great care. Since we only had a hour I was concerned but it was a great experience! We will defiantly be back again the next time we do another Harley trip in the area....and rent the boat longer for a more adventurous experience!

The highlight of our Smokeys getaway! We rented a pontoon boat for 1/2 a day with a tube. What a blast! The boat had plenty of seating both in the sun & in the shade. Lots of room for our coolers & beach bags. The staff was super friendly & had a great sense of humor. It was such a perfect day ... thanks! We'll be back.
