Left plasma and decided to walk to the DG for some small groceries: honey, candy, and some soda. I always go into donate with my backpack on as I’m a student and study while wait. Im clearly walking in NOT with the lack of money and the need to steal. As I'm shopping, I’m asked to leave my backpack at the front. I’m just curious why the ladies with the purses weren’t asked to also leave their belongings at the front. 🤷‍♀️My bag is already filled to the brim and I have no plans on leaving a brand new Vera Bradley with my MacBook in it at the front.Honestly, I took that as the accusation of my intent being to steal.I left after making sure I announced I clearly wasn’t there to steal and they can keep their business.

I read some of these reviews and entitlement is strong in so many of the reviews. I’ve never had a problem with this store. Reading about backpacks and bags being asked to be left in the front. Well, in today’s world so many people are out here stealing from stores so guess what, stores are protecting their bottom line. I’m sick of prices going up because of stealing and not just because the economy is bad. Stores are shutting down because of theft. Yet, the same individuals complaining about having to leave their backpacks, etc. in the front will be the same people complaining about not having stores to shop at when they close because of theft. As far as rude employees, there are rude people everywhere! And yes, they shouldn’t be working in customer service, but also how was the employees encounter with the customer. Customers are rude as hell. And take out their entitled behavior on employees when employees don’t make the policy. Then store appearance complaints. Lord, these corporations work the piss out of their employees. The don’t staff and expect employees to have EVERYTHING perfect. No a customer does not work for Dollar General but how hard is it for a person to put something back down from where they got it from? Instead of shopping like a savage or a little kid being told not to touch something they aren’t buying! A customer tearing up a store, but complaining about its appearance. Make it make sense!

I just came to purchase a few items. No one was in line so as I approach to pay, there was an employee who told me to back up and let her pay for her Pinot and other alcohol products which I assume she wanted to do while on break. She came from the opposite side of the line. African American, heavy set, short and with a burgundy short curly hair cut and full of tattoos. Ghetto and unprofessional.

Lady with the short hair needs to be fired ASAP. This is my 3rd time being treated bad and disrespected. ive arrive at the store 15-20 min before closing and she turns me around as she’s standing in the doorway with door open saying there closed. Today i walk in she’s just being verbally disrespectful and treating people as though we knew each other on a bad timing or something. Just overall not shopping at this store for a while hopefully we get some better employees cause this is one of my go to shopping places.

This review is from the 15th of May 2023. When I went to visit Dollar General there was a new face working there. I don't know if she is a new employee or just covering some shifts from another store. That day I was wearing my small Nike backpack as my purse for the day. Not more than two minutes into my shopping trip the cashier came up to me and told me I had to leave my backpack at the front of the store. I told him it was my purse and I was not going to leave my wallet and other stuff up front. He stated that the female employee told him to come tell me. I decided to leave without my purchase I came in to buy . I'm 54 not a child that might steal something. In today's day and age alot of people carry mini backpacks to carry there stuff. I've seen many people go in and outta that store with even bigger full size backpacks and they weren't asked to leave theirs at the front of the store. I do not enjoy being singled out. I literally had to go back home and change to a purse to go back and make my purchases. I don't have a car so this really did make my day and night more frustrating than it needed to be.

I actually love the new layout! At first I wasn’t too happy that they were remodeling because I had to go out my way 15 minutes to the next nearest dollar general. Now I’m thankful for the remodel. It looks nicer, cleaner, things are organized better and the line/register is set up better. Thanks!

My experience was great. Everything was so clean on my way out, I had to just stop & take a look, the windows & entry way was So clean. The cashiers was so helpful, offering their assistance ,if they saw you looking for something.

Ran into this particular store to pick up some greeting cards and was shocked! They were doing a reset and stuff was everywhere! An associate lead me to the greeting cards and for the most part it's coming together. I don't shop there often, so maybe when I come back it will be better.

This location always has the best selection of things in the city. Staff is nice. The only reason for the 4 rating is that the parking lot is always dirty. I have to park far to avoid stepping on all kinds of things. Other than that I enjoy this store a lot.

Very in organized Build an application out the girl Kiersten that works there can you give me no idea of when the hiring manager will get back in contact with me after the last time I called and she answered the phone she got a attitude and no one has answered my call since I thought you were supposed to call and check up on the application if you wanna job obviously that’s why there store runs the way it is now I need better management

Management needs training in handling aggressive customers, and also need to know when they need to contact authorities and not be afraid to ask the customer to leave. Customers using profanity, calling women out of there name, threats to cause massive violence on the store and to others

It's quick, convenient, and an easy stop when you need something quick. The store is usually a mess with boxes, and some times the lines are a little long, but the staff is friendly, the prices are decent, and they keep their items stocked.

This store has gone down. When we first moved in the neighborhood it was very neat and clean. But now is something totally different. It is so hard to walk in this store. The aisles always have something in them so you can't walk or you have to move stuff out the way to get what you need. It's so bad now I don't even want to go there anymore. I am willing to drive 5 to 10 mins out the way to another store than to go in this store. Which is less than 3 mins from my house.

Very disappointed in the customer service. The lines are too long. There's is never but a couple people in the store working.And the product is never on the shelves.And this is every single Dollar General you try to shop. I'm about to give up on one of my favorite stores.And I know a lot of others that feels the same way. Please fix it.

The deals are good because its dollar general bit the staff at this location are so unhelpful they will not do much to help you find an item. The sale items ate always in the back and unable to be got to. I wouldnt be so upset about this vut it has happened several saturdays in a row now. If your going to have sales you should at least stock the items so peiple can get what they come for

Very disorganized and nasty store. Workers are not helpful or friendly when you ask for help to find something. I can’t get a basket through the aisles. Hoping management will clean up the store or hire someone who will. DG says they are proud to be community/neighborhood stores, but from the looks of this place, that’s a lie.

SHUT THIS STORE DOWN! Dollar General needs to close this store on Cliffdale until you all can get it clean and organize. It is extremely disorganized and cluttered. I avoid going here even though its walking distance from my home. Went in today to get something and of course I couldn't find it. Instead I ran into one of the many carts in the aisle and almost tripped. It definitely wouldn't been good if I would have gotten hurt SMH.

Store is just too congested making it appear totally disorganized, carts with supplies sitting in the walkways. I would have rated higher because of the friendly staff but the congestion made it too difficult to move around to shop for the items needed. Couldn't maneuver with a shopping basket of your own. What about safety issues?

ALWAYS have to move carts, and crates, and stuff out of the way to get by ! Employees are always pleasant. They tried to upgrade, but an upgrade would be to tear down and rebuild

Scanner would not work for our totes either hand scanner or on counter. Told politely to go to the other register but the cashier did not make sure we are waited on next; so we had to wait on line again. Just annoying... The store was not tidy; messy, cluttered.

I love this DG, people are very nice. Its convenient when you don't feel like going to a bigger store. They just remodeled the inside and now I like it even more!

I only stop here because it's close to my house and don't have to leave the neighborhood to grab something quick but this store is a coplete wreck and hazard, the aisles are full of items and toys in the floor the poor cashier is doing the job of 4 other people.. need to hire a whole new staff. RIM RD.

Seems a bit cluttered. Inadequate aisle space makes it hard to find what you need at times. They may consider adding seasonal to help stock.
