Edit from most recent experience: It is still probably one of the most unkempt stores I've visited. Completely disorganized. Empty shelves. Almost entire aisles empty. Looks dirty. Would not ever purchase food products. HOWEVER, today was a whole level beyond unacceptable. Untrained staff from the management down. Inability to perform basic job requirements or have any semblance of customer service. DG should close this location. Over the years it continues to go downhill.

Prices are great but they always have boxes everywhere and you cant shop properly when you cant even get down an aisle. Everyone has been nice but I have questioned some things they have done. Recently I bought some things that were suppose to be 50% off. They had been slightly discounted already. But at the register they said they would have to go back to full price before they could give me the sell price. This has never happened to me before. Normally, it would be 50% off the price it was that day. Oh well. I like DG and hope they work on getting the store neater and cleaner.

Poorly stocked shelves, sale ads not always updated on time in store, not enough employees scheduled. If a customer needs help at the register, cashier will leave everyone standing in line while they assist customer elsewhere in the store.

I love shopping here. But 2nd shift , they are a little loud and unprofessional there was this young girl working around closing and she would start talking to the young guy that works nights and we could literally hear her all the way to the back of the store! And was on her phone using her voice command texting ! Very inappropriate! It would be a fantastic store if some were a little more mature and professional!

Very friendly staff. Which I love and feel is very important when working with people. Newer store so everything is up to date, when some older stores tend to have foods and things that taste a bit old. Big variety of products. If dollar general carrys the product this store will have it. 5☆'s!!! Also right beside the beautiful pisgah national forest!

I would give 0 stars if I could. I have 2 small children who had to use the restroom and asked an employee if they had one and she said yes to ask the manager who told me no not for the public. This is the only dg I have been in that didn't have a public restroom. Besides not allowing my small kids to use the restroom the store was very messy and chaotic. No organization and piles of stuff everywhere. Long line and no one at the register to wait on customers. Never will I go in this store again.

Shop here regularly...used to be able to find everything I needed. The last 3-4 times I have been in, it's been awful. No one at the register the first time and couldn't find a single person in the store! And now they seem to be out of whatever I need - at the moment- no tape! So frustrating.

I go here mostly for convenience. They have some food and drinks, diapers, clothes, balloons, home decor, seasonal items, dollar isle, laundry detergent, toiletries, books, videos and more. Something that most people don't know is that they sell $1.00 pregnancy tests that work just as well as the more expensive ones.

It was horrible, the cashier was outside smoking. People where in line for 10 minutes waiting, when a customer went outside to tell the employee. The employee got mad and had an attitude with the customers. This dollar general store has been going down hill for a couple of years now. It needs a total overall

Great deals on select items, but this particular store always seems so messy, and the inventory is poor - lots of empty product slots. Only run in and out as needed. Not a great place to shop. This has been the same for years, even after a resent layout reset.

The store is just old, run down, even with moving the set-up to match the new stores. It's also smaller. If corporate owns that store they need to purchase some of the other areas right nextdoor to them and expand, and do a complete "face-lift".

The people are nice enough but they just never have what you need or want. One wk they will have stuff on their shelf's & then the next cpl months nothing. It's absolutely ridiculous.

This has to be the ABSOLUTE WORST DG ever. So messy, dirty & unorganized. Unfriendly, under trained, sometimes rude employees. Avoid at all cost! Go right up Hwy 64 to the much better DG in Penrose, you'll be glad you did.

It’s alright, I always am confused when the shelves are empty for weeks on end. Everyone is nice, and you can’t expect the workers to be gung ho about their jobs when they’re only being paid 8 dollars

I really like this Dollar General, they always are friendly, and keep their shelves and walk spaces clean. Also have the lowest prices of any Dollar General in 2 counties. 😊

Just finished up some shopping this afternoon .. an had a very nice talk with the manager !.. she even took time out of her busy work hour to show me through the store .&&. The discount Christmas items .. when I shop that one of the most important things I look for is "Very" good service!!.. &&.. an the manager &.. employee's go above an beyond for there customers !! Out of all the dollar generals in the area .I will go out of my way to shop there. So I encourage everyone to check "Etowah".. Dollar general out!!!..an after reading a few of these "Bad" review.. these people couldn't be more wrong with what they was saying !! Hoestly people have nothing better to do them put someone on down!! ..Have aittle more respect because they put up with people like you all day!!.So with all that being said they have my "Business"..and I'm very satisfied with the employees an items I buy for my holds hold needs.Thank you guys for all you are work .
