Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon while driving home from the Outer Banks, and was informed it's self-serve buffet style on Sundays. The BBQ and fried chicken were great. Never had eastern NC style BBQ before, but it was so good. The fried chicken was perfectly coated and season and so juicy. Had to stop myself from going back for more after a third full plate.

This is the perfect "days gone by" restaurant. Walk back in time to great, southern food and hospitality. I will eat here every time I'm in this area. Everyone treats each other like they know you. I've never had fried okra that was whole, baby okra. Delicious. The fried chicken strips and country fried steak were outstanding. There was one waitress for what seemed like 20 tables and she didn't skip a beat. No one had to wait for anything and she smiled the whole time. I was torn between ordering dessert or tying on an apron to help. I love Love LOVE this spot.

Our waitress was nice. Our food took about an hour to get to our table and those that arrived later got their food before us. I understand sometimes what we order might take longer but we had pretty much the same as every other table chicken strips and fries. Sometimes just communication does the trick maybe if we were told our food was delayed for XYZ we would have been a little more understanding. The prices were fair and the food was okay.

Nice little place that has buffet and serves some good southern food. Be careful if you eat too much, you might be asleep within the hour 😅. Food was delicious and the staff keep up with you. If I'm ever over that way again I'll definitely be stopping in.

The class of Mattamuskeet 1973 had their 50th class reunion there on May 27 2023. Getting reconnected with Classmates that you haven’t seen in 50 years was great and the Food was delicious and the staff was great if you are in the area stop by you won’t be disappointed.

Lunch buffet at 8 dollars is a steal. Turnip greens, chicken and pastry and fried pork chops were the stars today but everything was excellent. Beverage, soup, salad and dessert are included. Full menu is also available.

I'm not much on writing reviews but "OH MY GOD". THIS PLACE IS AWESOME.. I wasn't expecting the sheer joy of eating a Prime rib. I ordered a 10oz Prime Rib and apparently the scale was off because it was well over a pound. The mash potatoes and gravy was just like my grandma's. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a great meal.

This restaurant was delightful. I had grilled chicken breast, fried okra and Cole slaw. The chicken was grilled with a pepper lemon favor and a hint of something I couldn’t quite name that made me smile with pleasure. The fried okra was crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. Cole slaw was creamy, with just the right amount of tang. The waitress was friendly, professional and excellent. Definitely I will go there again.

We've been here 3 times since August, twice for the lunch buffet during the week and then a Saturday night for dinner. Great food each time. Love the home cooked veggies, salad bar and the fried chicken is wonderful. Prime rib on Saturday was cooked perfect as was the baked sweet potato served with seasoning on the side so you can have it the way you like it. Great service and great food!

The Sunday buffet was absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly and courteous. I will definitely be back when I am in Hyde County in the future.
