Our family of 10 loved the Big Pelican! There is easy beach access, and the one-floor layout is great. We had plenty of space to cook and hang out together and appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. The people at the rental office are responsive and helpful. We’re already booked for next year!

This was a lovely house and we enjoyed our stay so much. We have been coming to EI to vacation every year for 20 years, but this was our first experience with Shorewood Realty. The experience overall was just very positive and easy. The house was wonderful, for the most part. The decks were outstanding, the deck furniture was great. There were a few things that needed to be fixed - the TV would not work and the 2 bathroom receptacles would not work - but Shorewood maintenance took care of this almost immediately. The only issue that I have are the beds. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable. But in spite of that, we have already booked for our 2 week vacation next year. Many thanks to Pam and MC for their patience with me and for getting stuff taken care of. Shorewood's prompt and pleasant service made our vacation a delight.

Shorewood Real Estate was very easy to work with. They were really good at communicating the closer it got to our arrival date. Sending reminders about what to bring, updated us when the condo was ready, (wish we had known our condo was going to be ready way before check in, I would have planned on leaving our house earlier) but that's no one's fault. :)

Using Shorewood for our beach rental was awesome! After signing our contract we had to switch weeks because of a family conflict. Although there was a small fee involved they worked with us to change weeks easily. During our beach stay we lost one of our key cards to the condo. We contacted them and they hand-delivered another key to us no charge!! They went above and beyond to make sure we got the new key card. Great customer service and so friendly! Would use them again for sure!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mariner's Point. It was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. Peaceful, calming and relaxing. The decor and furnishings were tastefully selected and felt like home. The sunsets and overlooking pier, pool and sound was exactly what we were looking for. Our favorite place was the balcony with the high top table and chairs and how it was covered so when it rained, we could still sit out there and look over the sound. Only concerns was the Master Bathroom. We were unable to use all week. Thankfully it was just us, it would have been tough with guests sharing 1 working bathroom. The MB bathroom sink water only trickled (no pressure), the shower head seemed clogged and the tub wouldn't drain properly. we called maintenance, but never came or was worked on. All and all, we would definitely consider coming back and stay in this unit.

We’ve rented through Shorewood for years and have never had one problem. They allow us to make payments throughout the year, which helps our budget. They have always been very accessible leading up to and during our vacation. They never bother us, are always friendly, and are fair in all transactions. The houses we have rented have all been clean, safe, well-air-conditioned and satisfactory for our needs. This year we loved the keyless entry; we didn’t have to check in or out in person!

This property has fantastic ocean views and even a little sound view from the stairway window. We saw some pretty sunrises and sunsets. The house easily accommodated 7 adults and one small child. The house does not seem crowded or small and the open concept kitchen, dining, living rooms are really nice. We’ll be back in 2024 😊

A great layout with a nicely furnished great room with super beach views, well equpped kitchen, and ample bedrooms and bathrooms. 6 adults, 4 kids and a dog had plenty of space to stretch out and a 90 foot walk to the beach was icing on the cake. It couldn't have been better. If the stars align and we get a chance to vacation in Emerald Isle again, we will gravitate back to Big Pelican if its available.

My family and I stayed at Hidden Treasure for the week and the house was great to stay in. HOWEVER, the #1 reason we booked this specific house to rent was for the pool and hot tub. It wasn't until after the deposit was put down that we were notified the hot tub was out of service. That is highly unprofessional to hype up the amenities of the rental and not tell us about the hot tub until after the deposit was paid.The outdoor shower was also broken and unable to be used. The pool was dirty. There were bugs everywhere inside the house. We had to provide our own toilet paper and hand soap which is ridiculous for the price we paid to stay here. The outdoor grill did not work either. We received no discount for these broken amenities and have not received a response from management.While we were staying a pool tester came out to do a routine check on the pool. We were at the rental at the time and let him in. We were not notified by management that they would be stopping by to examine the chlorine levels. We were hesitant to let him in initially because we did not know him.The only redeeming qualities of our trip was the distance to the beach and the working features in the house.

The Shorewood Real Estate staff that checked my family in the week of Aug 6 to 13 2023 were fantastic, especially the older southern gentleman. He's a very kind man.He explained the check-in process, and answered every question i anticipated asking without having to ask. He even called 3 hours before check-in (1pm) to let me know the unit was ready and available!Thank you for that, who doesn't want to start a vacation early!Will certainly use Shorewood in the future.Thanks for starting us off early and for being so kind.Russell from Pittsburgh Pa.

We have booked a vacation rental thru Shorewood Real Estate three years in a row now. Their service is great. Upon arrival and check-in we are always greeted with friendly and courteous staff. They send out timely and detailed rental info and also reminders about check-out etc. I recommend them!

Ann was very helpful with our minor repair and getting AC folks there ASAP in this Aug. heat!! A great property! Will come again...very well appointed house with kitchen equipped well for cooking there. Enjoyed the nice rocking chairs on the wide oceanfront porch..an evening delight to be there!

Shorewood Realty was very responsive to all of our needs. Someone was always there to answer the phone. Our dryer was not working and they came twice to clean (and fold!) our laundry. We loved working with them and would absolutely rent again!

The real estate company managing Mint Julip was amazing. The property however was less than acceptable. The house was filthy. Moldy shower linters. Furniture stained and dirty. One cushion was turned over to hide a stain. Outside of Pool lounger damaged and left with rusty parts.Sooooo much dust everywhere. The floor was filthy I know this because my granddaughter crawls and her legs were BLACK.There were nasty bigs to greet us when we walked in. At least sweep them up!!’ We did before we left for the next guest!

Rented Carolina Clipper - East for a week at the beginning of September. It meets expectations with one major drawback: The patio doors on the bedrooms do not open. At least not without two people pushing them because the rails are super old and rusty. That's a major drawback because you cannot go to the beach from the bedrooms, you must exit from the entrance door. Also, no power outlet(s) on the patio and no awing on the patio. The latter makes it unusable during the day.

This is the second time we have used Shorewood, and they are, by far, our favorite rental company in EI. Their personalized service beats out the bigger companies and both units (rented a couple years apart in the same complex) were the cleanest we've had. Love that we never have a wait for pick up or drop off. And from the phone call to make our second payment to all of our office interactions, we were just so incredibly please with the service. I even recommended them to a friend who owns a unit in the area and is thinking of switching her rental company.

We booked with Shorewood 3 days before we arrived in EI, after another rental company cancelled our 2 week reservation 5 days before our planned arrival. Shorewood was great to work with. We have a very old dog who was coming with us and it was important to us to understand access to the house and the beach because he cannot manage stairs well. Shorewood staff was very patient answering all our questions and the house worked great for us! We had a small issue with the TV in the bedroom and they were very responsive and fixed it right away. We wanted to stay an extra day and they were able to accommodate us. As soon as we locked the door and drove away, we remembered we had left a jacket inside and Shorewood found it for us and sent it to us. I recommend them without reservation; they saved our vacation and were much better to work with than the rental company we originally planned our vacation with.

We wish could say much positive about the management of the property we spent our annual beach weekend at. Well, the linens and interior were clean, there, something positive. Sadly, we never got to totally relax. When we arrived the door lock did not function, and even after calling the rental office it took a good half hour to get the door open. Our thoughts that someone would get out the next day to fix the front door lock were just wishful thinking. After testing the lock again it was at best erratic in opening, so to keep from being locked out again, while off to buy groceries and such, we had to leave the door open. A great feeling with laptops and others expensive items inside. One shouldn't be in the business of renting properties if security isn't a top priority. And, no, discount or compensation was offered.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dolphin Watch. The ocean front view every day was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the rocking chairs and the table and chairs everyday at lunch on the deck. R& R Is a wonderful vacation home and the Shorewood staff are a pleasure to work with. We truly enjoyed our stay this year. The improvements made during the off-season to R&R were appreciated. The new living room furniture was very comfortable and gave much needed additional seating. The new outdoor dining table and chairs on the back deck were a huge improvement. Lovely new painting throughout. We do wish the 3rd floor master bedroom had direct oceanfront deck access. We had such a wonderful week and are looking forward to returning to R&R next year.

Our family has stayed in several beach areas in the Carolina's but using Shorewood Real Estate and renting Beach Place in Emerald Isle, NC has been the best so far. Having a bathroom for every bedroom is such a plus and the covered deck off the main and upper levels is a delight. Easy access to the beach was a big help for Great Grandma and our Toddler too. The hot tub and swimming pool was such a delight to enjoy after a day on the beach. Beach Place is turnkey ready the moment you arrive. All you need to do is unpack and have fun. We stayed at Packard's Paradise July 14-21, 2019 and loved it! The house was very clean, updated all around and the kids loved the pool! We had two families with 4 adults and 5 kids under 12 with no issues with space. The beach is close enough to walk but we drove most days since we had to bring chairs and all that. We rented a golf cart from right down the road and the kids loved having that...it also made back and forth from the beach that much easier. I would recommend this home to anyone looking. Shorewood was great to work with too, very friendly, easy payment schedule and were responsive to any needs we had. Love Emerald Isle! Can't wait to come back!

Surprisingly, we had stayed at this same house previously, but it had a different color, different name and different theme (possibly different owners). The house has greatly improved. The kitchen is very modern and nicely furnished. The rooms are comfortable and tasteful. The rec room was very nice and the pool area great fun. We had a couple of requests for maintenance and they were taken care of quickly by Shorewood. The staff at Shorewood were extremely pleasant and helpful. The views of both ocean and sound were wonderful. A great vacation! Thank you!

Great experience. We arrived around 1AM and the lock code did not work. We called the after hours number and were in the house within 5 minutes. Little glitch that was resolved quickly!

We loved our family vacation here! The accommodations were comfortable, clean and beautiful. We loved the view of the sound and the marina off the large balcony. And the short walk to the ocean was easy. We had never been to EI before and it is gorgeous but we felt particularly lucky to stay at this location b/c it was quiet, the beach was not crowded at all (eve thought it was a public beach access) and it was close to lots of quick bites. We loved that it came with 2 kayaks and 2 SUPs - it did only come with 2 life jackets through so we had to take turns. If we knew that ahead of time we would have brought our own life jackets. Our stay was just perfect and we hope to come back and stay there again soon!!! Thank you for helping make amazing family vacation memories:)

We enjoyed our vacation week at R & R. The house was really nice and large with plenty of room for everyone. Everyone enjoyed the rec room with the pool table and the private pool. However there were a few things that need some attention by the owner. One of the chairs to the dining room table was broken when we arrived. Also the baby gates did not work. We could not get them to fit . We have a crawling 10 month old that we really had to watch to make sure he did not venture too close to the stairs. There were not enough coffee cups and the ones there were small. Not very good frying pans and baking sheets need replacing. The pool was a little disappointing. The wood flooring around the pool show signs of deteriorating and needs to be replaced with cement. But the kids still enjoyed it. Kitchen was a nice size with plenty of cabinets. Appliances could be upgraded. The beds were not very comfortable. Everyone complained of not sleeping well. The King size beds actually did not have king size mattresses but 2 twin beds put together. That resulted in a ridge in the middle of the bed that was not very comfortable. The elevator was a huge asset loading and unloading suitcases, coolers, groceries, etc. Also, The driveway did not give alot of room for parking. Because there was not a fence or anything to separate this house with the one next door, it seemed we were on top of each other. Because we booked the first week of Sept. and the rates were lower and because of the things mentioned above, I think the price was still a little too high for the time of year. It would have been nice to have a discount of some kind. Anyway we still had a great time!
