The staff here are so kind and made our experience even better. Huge shout out to Ava, who made my daughters experience spectacular. Shes normally shy but had no issues saying goodbye at the end of her shift. Also want to thank the staff at the front desk took their time to bandage a scrape my son got on his knee while he was there. They even gave him a lollipop while bandaged up his knee. I usually go to the water park in wilmington since they are both about the same distance from my house. I will be going to this one going forward due to the phenomenal workers at the salty pirate. Thank you for making my son's birthday special and fun!

We went here last summer and the owner opened up the waterpark just for my son and his special needs classes at his school. This is the only opportunity for kids like ours to get to go somewhere like this due to the challenges they have daily. The lifeguards were so sweet and very helpful and understanding as well. The food was really great too! 100/10

Yesterday was our first time. The front staff is super friendly. All the lifeguards are attentive. My 6 year old step son wanted to go down the water slides but was nervous. The lifeguard on top talked to him and explained the process. They had the lifeguard in the water waiting for him when he came out. They made it so smooth for him to enjoy himself. It’s not a big water park but it’s enough to relax and have a blast. The kiddie section is so much fun. We will def be coming back next year. Thank you for a great time.

Great location! Best lifeguards we’ve experienced at any water park. The guards are always attentive and providing a safe environment for lots of children to play. The one & only downside to this location is limited seating & parking areas. The overflow parking was $26 for the day, in addition to the cost of the park admission. BUT the park is reasonably priced, especially for all day fun! **Sidenote - if you arrive early, when they open there plenty of seating & parking available**

Salty Pirate is a treasure of the Crystal Coast. We’ve been coming here for three generations and it’s every bit of fun year after year. Clean, well attended by polite lifeguards and a decent deal as vacation activities go.$20 per person for a day of sliding and splashing. Lots of fun for the tiniest to the tallest. Snack prices are affordable too.Get here before 10am to claim a good seat and one of the limited umbrellas!

Staff is super friendly and helpful, there are plenty of lifeguards, and never a long wait for the slides. Snacks are decent, not too expensive. We’re repeat customers and will keep coming back whenever we’re in Emerald Isle!

We decided to go on the spur of the moment and it was a great choice. We went after five and got 50% off which was great because we were so tired after the two hours we really couldn’t have gone much longer. The boys and I had a great time going through the tubes down the waterslides and the waterfalls and Cascades.The staff there are young teens but they’re all very respectful and work great with the customers.I would highly recommend this place for family fun with kids from 3 to 63.

I'm a 63 young lady. With the grandkids on this outing. Your concrete ramp to the mat slides are very slippery when wet underfoot. Another older woman walking aside me too said the traction was poor. Maybe add better gripping for your feet. Carpet padding on the walk ways could use a face lift. But in all the day was fun and the staff was great with lots of uplifting smiles and courtesy. Great place to cool off. Fun in the 🌞 From Maryland.

Very cozy water park. It is definitely worth it if you have little ones... talking about 10 years and younger. There is a very cute, little, pool area especially for 4 years and younger. I would recommend for families that have little children. I would not recommend for families with teenagers as they would definitely get bored. There are 3 open water slides and 3 tube slides for 48" and taller people. Then there are the small slides and the small Kitty pool areat pool area for those under 48", However bigger kids and adults can enjoy it too but it will get a bit boring. I do wish there was a pool however, overall... not a bad place. For the price it was decent.

Was this the best water park with tons of things to do? No. Was it well worth $20 admission? YES!!It’s $20 and you get a wrist band and you can come and go from the park all day! (4-6 pm twilight pricing is $10).There are three main (read big) slides and 2 out of the 3 smaller “carpet” slides in addition to the kids area (one carpet/mat slide was closed). 48” and taller can ride 2 of the larger slides (green and blue) and yellow was 52” limit. There was a weight limit on those slides (over heard conversation so call to verify) of 275lbs.The “carpet” slides were also 48” but a little looser on that requirement and smaller could ride with an adult.The kiddie area (2ft deep) was great with three mini slides. Our two year old had a BLAST in this area and the 5 year old also enjoyed it.You can bring in your cooler and food (no glass and no alcohol). Which saves a TON of money.It was perfect for our crew which ranged from 2-9 (7 kiddos) and they truly had a blast.The staff was really friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure!

The entire family had a great time. We went in the morning and to our delight found out we pay for a pass for the entire day and can come and go as we pleased to eat, go tot he beach, and come back. The slides are fast and fun for both kids and adults. The only downside is there is nothing to do besides a kid area and slides, no lazy river, no pool to relax in, and the non-pool area is rows and rows of pool chairs, most of which are in the sun, very little shade is available. But I didn't care about shade I was there for slides!

It was very busy, but we didn't feel too cramped. The lifeguards do a great job! The kids all had a blast. All around, a great experience!They make their own pizza, too! It's really good, I definitely recommend 👍

This place is so worth every penny and so affordable on that note! The slides are fun for kids and adults, plus you can bring your own coolers for the picky eaters or just to save money! The life guards are all so friendly and watchful. I was comfortable letting the kids have some freedom and the guards made sure everyone was being safe and respectful. Love love loved it and we will be back now that we know about it! Only 35 mins from jacksonville!

I have lived in Carteret County for almost 8 years now and my Son who is 7 years old and I went there to Salty Pirate for the very first time today and we both had an amazingly great fun time!!! Before going there he was afraid and before we left he said that he wanted to come back every day!The water slides were so much fun for him and I and the lines moved very quickly. There was really very little to no wait times at all for any of the slides.Everyone was nice to us. All the staff and life guards were very attentive to the kids and making sure they remained safe and followed the rules at all times... I really appreciated seeing them take their jobs seriously especially considering for the most part they seemed to be very young adults with the exception of a few.I saw one very small boy maybe 3 or 4 years old wondering around by himself and he was afraid to go down one of the small kid slides alone so the life guard for that slide told the much bigger kid who was waiting in line next to wait right there for her to come right back and she went down the slide with that little boy. That warmed my heart.The life guards also held the mat for you while you sat down which I found to be very kind and they were also there to assist you once you got off the water slides if you needed it. I watched them... they were right there to help out everyone of the smaller kids and I thought that was awesome to see.I didn't have any problem finding a parking spot either so that was cool.The lounge chairs looked brand new and there were many of them all over to choose from with umbrellas and tables as well.The restroom facilities were nice and spacious as well as clean. I really liked that they offered lockers too.They also allow you to bring in you're own beverages and food... I even saw people bringing in their own coolers. If you don't bring something and you get hungry or thirsty that's okay they've got you covered as they offer food and beverages which included pizza and wings too in their Snack area. They also had Arcade games if you like to play those too.Something else I really liked is they allow you to come and go during the day which most water parks do not.Having grown up in Wilmington for 25 years the Salty Pirate reminds me of a place I grew up going to called Jungle Rapids.Now that we have discovered Salty Pirate I hope to make many more fun memories there!

Went over Labor Day weekend. It was crowded, but what can you expect. Considering the fact that there were 200 people there, you only waited for about a 45 second maximum per slide. The lifeguards didnt smile but weren’t rude.As for the slides, the tube slides are actually scary, but in a thrilling kind of way! The mat slides are more relaxing although you definitely pick up speed.The arcade is tons of fun and suprisingly, isn’t rigged. Personally, I wouldn’t go before 4:00 o’clock. 20$ isn’t worth it but I’d pay 10-15$ for that park. (After 4 is 10$ admission)Overall a fun little stop if you have kiddos or just want to have a good time. We wer at the park for about 45 mins. It’s old school and reminds me of when I came down here when I was younger.Definitely recommend.
