This theater is old and definitely needs updating. The seats are mediocre and the arms do not lift up. The theaters themselves are medium sized. And the snacks are highway robbery. $4 for a small cup of water that’s just a few more oz more than the “courtesy” cup of water. A small popcorn is $6.50! Not impressed.

Giant Splotch / Lines on the ScreenIt pains me to write this, since this appears to be a locally-owned small business - so forgive me for what I am going to say. If they can confirm they have fixed it, I will gladly take the review down. But I wanted to warn everyone.The movie screen had 3 big stains on it, like someone had thrown drinks at the screen and they never cleaned it off.Plus, there were two thin black lines that ran vertically down the screen - and in the middle of those lines, a giant splotch - the biggest of the 3 stains - about 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. And in the left top corner, a frayed black box eating up that part of the screen.I really wanted to walk out and ask for a refund, but the movie had already started and I didn’t want to hunt down another theater and another showtime. I also considered that I should let the staff know, but it was so obvious (6 defects in total) that I didn’t bother because there is no way I was the first to bring it to their attention.We live in Emerald Isle, this is the only theater on the isle, we are big movie fans and we LIVE to support local business - so this is extremely unfortunate as it’s a dealbreaker for a movie theater - a clean screen.Please get this fixed….

It’s ok. Cheaper and closer to me.Some of the seats were damp from leaky roof. Some of the seat arm rests were broken.A little musty smelling.I don’t like that the ticket sales is at the snack counter now. Do you have to wait for people to not only purchase their tickets but to get all their food and drinks.The sound is ok but last few times the volume was low. I thought it was me but other people comments it was hard to hear and make out voices.Overall it is cheaper and closer to me so I will continue to go there.I won’t buy snacks or drinks though. Sorry, but the cost is through there roof.

Virtually no previews. Old small uncomfortable theatre. Candy was melted together. Poor customer service. Handed a drink with soda all over the outside of the cup (sloppy, lazy) and when I asked if someone could clean, the blonde guy with glasses behind the counter said “napkins are over there.” Ie,…you clean it up, not us who screwed it up (because I’m rude and even more lazy). Bad experience. They also let little children into a rated R movie with a bunch of graphic nudity and sex scenes.

I love this movie theatre! During this year, I have probably seen about 10 movies in total. Most of the time, I am one of less than 12 in the whole theatre. The prices are wonderful, no matter which time I see the movie. Under $10 for an adult! The staff is incredible. They are helpful about new movies coming or giving hints about if you need to stay through the credits for that extra scene. Candy selection is varied; soda pop options as well. Popcorn is hot and yummy when I go in. I would recommend this movie theatre hands down!

Have enjoyed visiting my hometown movie theater for over 20 years. Very friendly, courteous staff. The soda always tastes fresh and well-carbonated, and the popcorn is nicely buttered. Great selection of candy to go with it.

The employees were kind and patient. The theater was clean. Inside the viewing room (for lack of better words) was very clean. You could smell disinfectant. Afterwards while waiting for someone we saw them cleaning and sanitizing the viewing room we had used. We will be back again.

Small theater, older but maintained. We have family allergies so we don't eat the concessions but all seems well maintained. Friendly staff and love the free movies in the summer for the kids. Just nice to have a theater in our area and not have to drive 30-45 mins to see a movie, even if it is small.

Theatre is now under new management and renovations have been made. The lobby has a nice new look and the bathrooms have been redone. They also have new projection and seats. The overall appearance of the theatre has been improved along with the management and staff. Great place to bring the family.

This is a small theater, with old style flip down chairs. When I go here it always reminds me of being a kid. Its cheaper than most theaters and you don't really have another option in the area. I still enjoy every movie I watch here.

I've been going to this movie theater since before they renovated. It was older and had that old beachy musty smell due to being older. But we at the beach are use that. It was always clean. It has now been renovated with new seats and looks great! They have added a few things to their menu and have great prices. Love it. Great management and very courteous employees!

Great cinema in the shopping complex. We watched the new spidervese movie and it was great. $10.68 for adults was great as well.

It was really clean and there were not that many people so it was safe to see the movie there. Something that I really enjoyed was to talk with the guy that works there. He is a really interesting and friendly man and it was a plus to be able to speak with someone that nice :).

Not very often do I take the time to rate something. But this is something to write about. First of all. The theatre looks run down. If they renovated. I'd like to see what got renovated. As my son and I sit in theatre room 2, I noticed that it hasn't been cleaned from the last showing. Now some can say that maybe they are too busy. But this room only shows one movie. The last showing was well over 2 hours ago. More than enough time to clean it and reset it for next viewing. The room smells musty. The lobby is not the cleanest. I was baffled by seeing one of the employees coming from the back of the building with a big hefty bag full of popcorn already popped. And they served this to customers. The concession stand is by far not sanitary. I can truly say this will be my first and last visit to this establishment.

We loved how small and family friendly this place was! The staff was also very kind and professional. The drive is worth it to get away from the crowds at the other theaters. Great place!

Emerald Plantation Cinema has under gone a renovation They have installed digital projection and added Dolby 5.1 sound. The lobby and the restrooms have been renovated and a new management team is in place. The theater looks great and is clean. There are more renovations planned to happen soon. All the seats have been replaced with new high back seats with cup holders.

The theater and lobby have been remodeled and is considerably cleaner that the reviews indicate. This is due to a new cleaning service. No more sticky floors! There are no matinees during the off season except Sat and Sun. Digital now so good quality.

My husband and I went to watch Anchorman 2 this afternoon. We waited in the theater for 20 minutes beyond the scheduled start time. At 2:10pm, one of the employees came in and asked us to come back for the 4pm show because they were having technical difficulties. We walked to the front for a refund and the cashier handed us "rain check" passes. I stated that we'd prefer a refund and that we didn't have time to come back for the 4pm showing. She said she wasn't sure she could give us our money back. I responded that this was their problem, not ours, and that we do not plan to return. She went to ask her manager. When she came back, she said, "I can give you your money back, but you need to give me back the rain check passes." I stated that this was very poor customer service as they let us sit in the theater for 20 minutes without any indication of what was happening. They didn't offer any type of incentive (i.e. free passes, candy, popcorn, etc.) to return or for the time we wasted driving to the theater and then waiting for the show to start. I spoke to the manager on the phone. I expressed how poorly this was handled and she responded by stating we can see the movie at 4pm. If we had wanted to see the movie at 4pm, we would have gone to the 4pm show. The theater is also run-down and has a very peculiar smell. I

Do not go to the movies here!! The last time we visited this theater my wife was eaten up with fleas. The bites were so bad that we thought she had anaphylaxis and treated it as such. The manager informed us that this was an ongoing problem with the theater that we were in, and that they've been treating the infestation for quite some time. There was no offer of a refund, we were just told that they were sorry and would spray again between shows. Seems to me that if they had a known infestation they wouldn't be playing any shows in that particular theater and would keep it closed until the problem had been solved. I have been visiting this theater for over 20 years and have never had any problems, but we will not be returning. I would STRONGLY advise against going here especially with children.

They have updated their seating and the cinema does not smell of mildew. Great theatre for an afternoon movie. Sound quality is good. Give them another try if you have not visited recently.

Absolutely Disgusting! Smells VERY strongly of pee. Seats are so gross you dont even want to sit on them. You stick to the floor. I FELT LIKE I NEEDED A SHOWER AFTERWARDS! The person in front of me wanted a refund upon just entering the theater and i would have done the same if it wasn't my daughters bday. Bathrooms FILTHY at first viewing time of the day. Its bad when its so dirty you wont eat food there. I bet a million dollars that they have roach problems. They also dont take credit or debit cards. i am shocked to see that they are still open in this condition! Sad to see how its gone down hill. Owners simply must dont be interested in the business.Save yourself a bad time (and get a lot more selection and be comfortable eating the food) and drive the extra 30 minutes to jacksonville.

I been going to this theather for years and I'm telling u it's a nice place to go to the movies. It's been reevaluate all-over, bathrooms are nice with granite countertops, concession stand is nice, new seats with drink holders. Don't believe any negative views on this place until u go to enjoy ur movieI just wished I could stay there year around.

Theater seats are too small and not super comfortable with no leg room if you're on the tall side. Service was friendly and not very busy so you might get a theater mostly to yourself
