Be careful buying cold food. In the past i’ve exchanged expired drinks to new ones after buying without realizing. Stopped getting the salads, meats, cheese after noticing so many old. Saturday bought a frozen pizza for work lunch and cooked it. Husband & I now have food poisoning. Dg is great, unfortunately we work on the island that has no quick food options.

I walked here from the beach access just up the street, after coming down here for an impromptu beach trip. They had everything I needed to be able to stroll along the beach; I was able to find something with more coverage than a bathing suit, and less than what I wearing when I arrived, plus sunscreen. Decent prices and friendly employees!

The place is a total mess. You can barely get down some of the aisles with all these restocking carts and items in the way. Some shelves were completely blocked & if you needed something from there, you were just out of luck. Plus there was only one person trying to put anything away (completely blocked an aisle and didn't bother to acknowledge me or offer to move so I could continue down the aisle, it was just easier to turn around and get to the end of that aisle by going down the aisle next to it) & one person on a cash register (she was nice). Today is a heavy travel day with some rentals going Sunday to Sunday. That can account for some of it. However the management/owners need to get more staff in there to cover the high volume Summer business. They should also consider restocking Monday through Thursday versus weekend days too. You can't beat the prices for the beach though, it is definitely cheaper for many items. Just don't expect to get everything that is at most dollar generals. It is great in a pinch and closer than food lion if you are closer to the salter path end past the 2nd water tower.

This is no ordinary dollar General, this 1 has fresh fruit and veggies. It has lots of frozen foods, and a great selection of dry goods. You can get beer here as well. I'll keep going back every time I'm in town.

Staff was very nice. Some items were 90% off so I got a sweatshirt so cheap. There was a lot of grocery items so it's closer than the supermarket for quick stops for a few things. I prefer other dollar stores though bc everything's $1.

Not a bad destination. If you are in Emerald Isle and maybe forgot something at home, this is probably a good place to stop (*if you were wondering, no, they don't have wine glasses*). If it's not absolutely essential, I probably wouldn't stop here. There is a CVS closer to downtown that has all the basic essentials as well, and I feel like it might just be worth the extra drive in order to not have to go back to the Dollar General. It's a personal preference though. Overall, the store wasn't that bad. It just wasn't great.

Handy since its nearby and we've needed items for our beach rental. The staff is friendly but the store feels like it's in shambles. So unorganized products in boxes in the isles.

Love the store. They pretty much always have items I need quick and it saves me the time of having to drive to AB or EI. Staff is always friendly and helpful!

Aisles were cluttered with merchandise that had not been stocked . Very difficult to maneuver a cart through. Only Dollar General in the area where I can find Bright Air air freshener. Excellent product for leaving clean, fresh scent in a room.

Convenient little shop towards the end of Emerald Isle. It's not the cleanest or most organized store, but it does have most of your basic needs. They did have some pretty good deals, but I would have assumed the discounts would have been greater.

Awesome place, great staff. Always quick in and out. Everything is simple to navigate, and plenty of parking available. Definitely reccomend going to this store if you are in the area. Has everything but gasoline.

All Dollar General stores are basically the same. They all seem to be a bit over crowed/rows to close, cheap pushing carts, plus depending on where you live all carry the same thing. But for all those reasons is why I keep going back there. I know what and where to find what I need. Most are messy and the floors are old and need cleaning. But I also think this is part of how they keep their prices down. It's one of my favorite stores to shop at!!

They are always helpful and friendly. Large selection of stylish clothes reasonably priced.You need it ,they have it. Close by and open long hours. Good selection.

This location is not very different from any other Dollar General store. The biggest thing you would notice is that there are more things that would appeal to a vacation-er. For example, there is a huge stick of blenders at this location. Haha. The only issue I've had with this location is that they were out of some essential items (i.e. milk) when I went. This is likely because of the high tourist traffic and most of them also want milk.

This Dollar on Emerald Isle has just about everything you can imagine except for meat and fresh produce. They have vacation needs like snacks, beer, floats, games...even clothes! They have pillows, coolers, curtains, cleaning supplies, electronics, batteries, bread, decorations, magazines, markers...I could go on. Great staff too.

Decent prices. Shop there a lot. You can find one out of nowhere when you need something. I buy all my detergent there. Always stop to pick up what i need when out in the country.

Typical dollar general that you'd see anywhere else, but great place to go when you've forgotten something at another store or need something in a pinch. Good location that's close to a lot of vacation rental homes.

Good spot to get something in a pinch especially when your visiting (vacation rental) on the island. Their grocery selection may surprise you (like I said in a pinch)

For the first time, since we got to Emerald Isle later than normal and didn’t feel like going to Food Lion, we went here to get some staples for the evening and tomorrow. A little shabbier than some locations elsewhere, but it functions.
