We loved our rental. Check-in was a little tricky but overall a good experience and we would definitely use them again to book another vacation. Quick and kind response from maintenance guy who helped with key code at check-in.

Be wary of Bluewater. You have to pay for your stay months ahead of the visit. If there is a problem at the property they will NOT disclose the issue prior to your stay.Air conditioning out on the second floor they rigged up a Rube Goldberg system that caused power to go out and had open windows allows heat and insects in to house.They offer you solutions but fail to come through with them.A horrible stay in Ocean Pearl property. First four days spent dealing with the numerous maintenance issues that had to be resolved plus others where folks just popped in out of nowhere to complete tasks.

Wayne from blue water real estate was a huge help with selling our home. He is very educated, and helped us through the whole process. He even helped us all the way down to the little details of trimming our yard for us before closing, because we had already moved out of state and had been gone for a couple weeks. We are very thankful that we had him as our realtor.

This was our first time using Bluewater Realty and it was truly a horrifying experience. Our first rental home was deemed unsafe due to the deck not being up to code, so we opted to find another home to rent. That home was not as the pictures are advertised whatsoever. The photos in the listing are many years old, as the outside of the home has overgrown weeds and grass and peeling paint everywhere. The outdoor rocking chairs that are on the deck were either broken or had peeling paint. The inside of the home was not maintained either. The carpet & furniture are deeply stained, the fridge was rusted over, and so were many of the bathroom fixtures, including the toilet paper holder. This house is old and is in dire need of TLC. Again, not at all what the photos on their website claim. We decided to make the best of it because nothing else was available. However, a few days into our stay, we found a live cockroach in the living room. We contacted maintenance via text with no response, so I called and spoke with someone. They were extremely rude and dismissive of my concerns, and told me the only option was pest control had to spray inside and out and they would send a tech out to take a look. I did not feel comfortable having chemicals sprayed inside since some of us have asthma and we also had our dog with us. When the tech arrived many hours later, many more roaches were discovered, in the kitchen, under the sink and under the couches. It was absolutely disgusting. I felt so overwhelmed with frustration at how little regard was shown considering the situation. We opted to leave the home, and we reported the home to the town of Emerald Isle for further inspection as the tech discovered drywall that was cut away under the sink, which left a large hole for the pests to get in. There was also an unsealed dryer vent issue. There was a wire dangling in the pantry kitchen area that was not connected to anything. We've been renting homes in the area for many years and have never had such a horrible experience until we rented from Blue Water. Their guest relations team was unbearable to with work with and we will never use them again.

Bluewater realty was a delight to work with and we've used them multiple times!!!! However, the property "Dog Daze of Summer East" needs some work! Very nice 2nd row home located directly across from private access to beach! The refrigerator NEEDS to be replaced, it barely gets cold. The money people spend on groceries doesn't need to be wasted because the fridge can't keep the food fresh, cold. The outside furniture is extremely old, uncomfortable and needs to be updated to something newer. The inside also needs new sofas!!!! There are stains all over the couches and we had to cover them with sheets to avoid sitting on them! Now I'm not too picky of a person by any means BUT for the money that you're charged to stay in these places for only ONE(1) week is ridiculous if the home isn't up to par with that hefty price!!!!!!!! Also, it wouldn't hurt to accommodate the guests with more of a selection with cooking pots, pans etc. We personally don't go out to eat but once or twice while there and depend on using the kitchen gear to prepare meals 😉 One last thing, Bluewater or the owner to the property needs to get better housekeeping!!!! They lack heavily in the "clean" department! Again, we had to come in and clean before we could unpack and relax. You could clearly tell what had not been clean, I own a cleaning business myself so I would know! 😁

Renters and homeowners of the vacation homes they represent should be more aware of the business standards for this company. I take responsibility for not researching Bluewater on Google prior to renting the Sea Watcher in Emerald Isle; instead, I looked at the reviews on their website. Very naive mistake on my part. Please look through other reviews and will see a pattern in the lack of cleanliness of their homes. As you will see, we had filth, layers of mold, dirt and dead flies in the Sea Watcher in September. This was not one cleaning mistake, and it's obviously the way they conduct and manage business. The lack of cleanliness and sanitization in this home is below health standards and do your due diligence when considering renting from this company. I advised the company and received the same generic insincere response as the others have in their Google reviews. We would have loved to have rented the Sea Watcher again but not with this company managing based on the poor level of standards that they provide.

I rented from these folks for over a year on a annual rental. They admitted up front that the house had "had a lot of abuse" in the past. It was pretty bad and way overpriced, but I needed a place to rent and they seemed genuine. I tried to name everything wrong with the place when I did my move-in inspection, but it was too numerous to list. Also, some things I didn't know in the first week were wrong with the place. When I moved out, they kept most of my deposit despite my following all the ridiculous rules of professional carpet cleaning and flea spraying. I had paid a huge pet deposit upfront and my pet did not have fleas. Some of the deposit was used to replace a door that was damaged when I moved in. Basically, they keep your deposit for upgrades on the home that were needed years ago. This house was built in 1998 and still has never been painted on the inside-only primer on the walls. It's a total wreck. I am sorry if you rent from these dishonest people.

My family rented a property for Thanksgiving week. On the morning of Thanksgiving, we discovered there was no hot water. The after hours emergency number and pretty much any other number we could find associated with Bluewater would not ring. Finally we got a hold of someone around 8am who told us they would take care of it. No one has come to the rental nor have we heard from anyone about the issue. We've tried calling again and every number we can find gives an automatic busy signal - except the sales reservation number. I spoke with someone there (who probably works at a call center somewhere) and they could not get a hold of anyone local either. I know it is Thanksgiving, but if this were a hotel, I'm pretty sure the issue would have been addressed by now.

Bluewater uses tenants to do their quality control, same is tru with Emerald Isle realty. We have rented now for 4th time with these companies and the house/condo we rent/Ed is not clean and several items broken: screen door to balcony; shower doors; light bulbs out. Also poorly furnished kitchen with many tools lacking:strainer; oventrays; decent knives to cut meat and veggies; and more. The cleaning crew does not check for these issues but they leave it to tenants to do so. We pay $2345.00 for one week two bedroom condo and this is what you get.

This will be our 4th year using Bluewater Real Estate to find our perfect vacation place. We have gone with other companies in the past and they always fallen short compared to Bluewater. From booking, to check in and check out, Bluewater has made this process for us seamless. Even when our vacation was cut short due to hurricane Dorian in 2019, using Bluewaters vacation insurance company made filing a breeze. We are traveling again this year in May to relax and enjoy Emerald Isle. I don't have a worry in the world thanks to using the best of the best! Thank you Bluewater!

Most of the reviews on this site are older (pre-covid), so now that we are in the Covid era, this place has a lot to do to get it together. We rented this place online for a significant cost difference since the place we've stayed in past showed the pool was closed for renovations. There is nothing posted about community amenities not being available until they already received the non-refundable payment, THEN you get an email saying some things might not be available due to covid. They request you email since they have high call volume, but only responded to my email about late check in, not my questions about the pool, tennis courts or linens based on their email. Another person in our condo complex had the same issue with Bluewater...no response about pool, etc. They say the HOA is not getting back to them, but they dont get the owner involved? If I were paying HOA fees, you bet I'd want to know if they weren't doing their job. I called and spoke with guest services and was told I would get a call back regarding a refund before I checked out. Just dropped off my keys...no call...doors are locked and can't talk to anyone.Let's now talk about their sanitization and housekeeping. They certainly aren't doing what they say they are on their website. I was planning to disinfect everything anyway but was surprised by what I found. Our counters weren't cleaned, let alone sanitized, they were stick and had crumbs on them. There was still trash in the back of the trash cupboard that wasn't cleaned out along with crumbs etc. The silverware drawer was full of crumbs and most of the silverware had stuff stuck to them. The pots and pans had crusted food and the cups smelled so badly of spoiled milk I almost vomited. Fortunately the dishwasher had a sanitize mode so we washed everything we planned to used. Bottom line, the house keeping people arent even doing the basics of cleanliness that would be expected, let alone a higher standard of cleaning and sanitizing.My recommendation is to find a different rental company because Bluewater's customer service and service in general aren't up to par with what you are paying for and they appear to be intentionally not responding to emails or being transparent about closed amenities on the website.

We reserved and paid about $7,700 two months in advance for Cloudburner for the 4th July week in 2021. Upon arriving at the property we found that the owner had already rented it out and the rental agency was unaware. Had to drive 2 hours to a hotel (not a house), drive 3 hours home and back to drop off a dog, .. you get the general idea. (Although the agency staff were apologetic and sympathetic, and provided some compensation to offset the extra cost of the last minute hotel reservation, the vacation vacation was ruined. Agency claims there was a mixup between them and the owner.) I would not use this agency again and specifically would not rent this property.

I was a guest at the house named Beached. We arrived on Saturday. We noticed mold growing in and around every vent on the third floor and around most of the recessed lights. Upon further inspection we noticed mold in many vents on the 2nd floor. We followed the instructions given to us and texted Bluewater on Sunday evening. Since we got no response we texted several more times on Monday. About 5pm a maintenance person arrived and told us this was not a normal situation and the mold was indeed bad.There was no action from Bluewater until my hosts went to the Bluewater office to complain. The children in the house began running a fever and several adults felt congested. Was it caused by the mold? Who knows but how long do you wait to find out. On Tuesday Bluewater began looking for a place to move. It was a beautiful day to be on the beach but we spent the day waiting for Bluewater to let us know what they could do and then spent the rest of the day packing, moving and unpacking. They offered us no help.We were moved from a 7 bedroom plus 2 bonus rooms with a private pool to a second story 3 bedroom condo and were givin a small refund.The agents expressed no concern for our lost day, the trouble of moving or the fact that we felt sick.My hosts have been coming to Emerald Ile for 40 plus years and have never had this lack of service before.They will never do business with Bluewater again

Beforewarned if you plan to tent from Bluewater that they will be acting only on the behalf of the owner and not the client. In the midst of a global pandemic they have refused to honor our very regrettable cancellation of our wedding in April. My fiance and I were given different information from different representatives of the company. And after I was assured our cancellation was in effect, she was misled into signing an agreement which will basically forfeit all funds paid for a rental we will never be able to use. Sadly now this will be a matter for the courts.

A nightmare...spent a lot of time on phone taking care of getting repairs taken care of, we felt like landlords. We have been using Bluewater for over 20 years...very disappointed with the house...lazy days..Bluewater knew of all the problems we had with this house but offered no compensation for all we went through. Home owners did give us 300.00 refund but that was just a slap in the face for what we went through!

Buying a condo 4 hours away and having someone who takes initiative was so comforting. She helped us with negotiations, home inspection and even suggestions on repairs.
