The lighting of the store makes it look dingy and unkempt. The employees are most friendly with the exception of one miserable cashier. The most competitive feature of this store would be the quality and price of meat. Fire that reason alone I would recommend this store to others in Richmond county.

It's good because it's just up the road. Old building, old town, clean and quiet. Get in and get out, basic necessities, see some neighbors.... Great Store, prices are keeping employees working...Stop on by.

I shop here because it's close to home. I've recently started comparing prices to Wal-Mart and Food Lion, and I've found them to have way lower prices on meat and soft drinks and some lower prices frozen foods. Other prices are comparable to larger stores.

The owner is a great guy and is so happy to help you. I always get treated with warmth by everyone in the store. They have a good selection of meats.

Just a simple, country grocery store and I love it! There are no frills and fanciness and that's why it is so great. They have the best meat prices around. Every time I'm in town visiting family, I have to come by here to pick some up. The employees are always so kind and helpful and you always see someone you know...even me, and I haven't lived in the area in 7 years. I will be back in the area real soon!

Staff was friendly and greet you as you walk in, even though they were busy. Store is very organized and clean. The store carries rare and good selection of meat (pig stomach, skins, ears, feets, bulk bacon and beef patties, etc.) among other items--I went to get some pork fat to make deer sausage.

Food king is a great little grocery store only down fall is watch your dates on ALL MEATS AND CAN FOODS .if you buy meat be ready to cook it the same day I've had several experiences where the day after meat went bad in the refrigerator. The store did redeem my perches but still it was inconvenient. On the good side the workers are nice down home people and very helpful

Food King is a good grocery store with helpful staff. Prices are average, with good weekly sales. The parking lot is terrible and needs to be repaved badly. That is the one major drawback. The meat sales are good and cheaper than the big name stores or big box stores. The quality of the meat is good for the price on cheaper cuts. Don't go there for specialty meat unless contacting the butcher, but he is there most days except Sunday. The produce stays well stocked. Again they aren't going to carry exotic high end items but it is better than most smaller groceries.

EXCELLENT customer service, especially from the manager, Mr. C. He has ALWAYS been so helpful, courteous, and efficient. Our family thinks very highly of him.On my last visit, the registers/electrical/electronics were not working. Mr. C and the employees were diligently trying to serve us by writing down on paper our orders. We felt bad for the employees because they were doing everything they possibly could!

Great store always clean and always find what I need. All the employees and mangers are so polite and this is the only store that the people that bag the groceries take them to your vehicle and loads them up for you. Love Food King great people.

Today in the grocery store as I checked out one cashier in particular seemed like I was bothering her by buying grocery she slung my items didn’t greet me could count and a host of other issues. Maybe me paying in cash was a issue anyways I felt some way as I was leaving with my groceries and the guy behind me was greeted with hello how are you maybe she didn’t like my Native American skin lol haven’t seen this employee in the store before.

It's the only true grocery store in our little town.We have a Family Dollar, and a Dollar General also.But Food King is the true place to shop for your meats and vegetables. The others can't comparer with that being said.If I were to tell you Food Lion is my choice if traveling to Rockingham NC.

The store manager Mr. Covington and his staff are always so friendly and great you with a smile. If you ask one of them where something is at they not only tell you where what your looking for is at. Plus his prices are affordable

Meh. Its charm is that it's a small store from the 50's or 60's. Its curse is that it's a small store from the 50's or 60's. It's great for last minute things you forgot in WalMart down in town. Meat prices are good. Other prices a bit higher. Folks are real friendly and work hard.

This small grocery is the only one in Ellerbe.It was a pleasant surprise. They had what I was looking for.I was just passing through and didn't want to stop at Walmart in a nearby town. They had the basics and the place was clean.Small is sometimes better.

They have a meat cutter that can do special cuts for you not like Food Lion in Walmart that's the store to go to not to mention good sales check it out
