Great grocery store. Clean and organized. Friendly owners/ staff members. They have fresh produce section as well as different kind of meats available. They also carry a lot of North Carolina/local products and even make their own jams/butters/marmalades. Plenty of parking spaces available. Would definitely recommend this store!

First things first, the meat and poultry sold at red and white is vastly superior to what you will find in any of the big commercial grocery stores.This place has the look and feel of a local grocery store from the 1950s because it is a local grocery store from the 1950s.The produce offerings are fresh and wildly varied. While this would not be my optimal place to buy a bag of Doritos, they certainly do have varieties of apples that I'm not going to find at Harris teeter.The last time I was in the store all of the customer facing employees were white and all of the people shopping were black or hispanic. Everybody getting along and enjoying their groceries.Well there is ample handicap parking, the front door was made for persons in the 1950s and probably wouldn't fit a modern chair. It would be close. I've never seen a person in a wheelchair inside the store.

First trip here. Seem to carry all the meats one would commonly be looking for. Only bought a small piece of pork. Was pleased with the quality considering the low price I paid. There are other stores that may be a bit cheaper and the big stores run sales that rival King's price, but this was by far the freshest cut off this meat I've had in a long time. Loved the old pattern of the floor tiles. Brings back memories of times long gone.

They have my business for meat. I’m newer to the area and was looking for a good butcher. I’m from Michigan and normally go to a well know place called, “Dublin”. I was shocked to see they had a bad boy here like they also do there. Most places won’t employee that position anymore so it was refreshing to see. I enjoyed their steaks tonight and I’m looking forward to trying their ground beef for some burgers tomorrow.Give them a try, you won’t regret it and it feels like home.

Great local supermarket. Good selection and they have a butcher shop inside with local meats. The meat is freshly cut and looks rich in color to prove it. The also have fresh produce and a good selection of other goods. Will be back again.

During the worst of COVID, as an immunocompromised person, I was gave King's a low rating because there seemed to be a defiantly anti-mask attitude. But a few years later, not truly knowing the whole story, I don't want to hold that against them. (Keeping this remark because I still think it's worth noting. Someone could've commented on the review to provide an apology or at least some context). It's 2024, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The local products are a neat feature, and they have all the household staples you might want. They own the building that also houses the Omie's coffee shop, so King's parking lot provides parking that Omie's lacks. I'll upgrade to 5-stars if they ever start carrying oat milk and some more plant-based foods. That being said, if you do consume dairy, you can get some wonderful local strawberry milk!

I like to buy chicken wings from here. The last time I went there though they had great big jumbo wings which is what I try to avoid. I hope they go back to the regular sized wings. They also have some country vegetables that you don't see in other stores

Kings is a great local grocery store to have. They have most anything there in groceries you would be looking for. They have a great meat department and will cut it for you while you wait. The Employees have all been there a long time and are very friendly and helpful. Just a little store but has a big bang!

Nice little family ran grocery store with lots of different fresh meats, veggies and fruits. It's almost like a farm stand except bigger with more foods to choose from. Very friendly employees and LOTS and lots of different hot sauces lol.

I called the evening prior as I was looking for a specific meat I hadn't been able to find in a while. The gentleman I spoke with in the meat department couldn't have been nicer. Explained they had a truck coming in the morning and if I would come in around 1:30 pm they would have my order ready. I arrived about 1:20 and there was absolutely no disappointment here !! My order was ready when I arrived, allowing me time to get some "fresh" shelled butter beans and corn, some beautiful big red tomatoes, and several other items. Checkout was a breeze with very kind, friendly service complete with lots of smiles and really good prices... all the way to my car where my groceries were loaded !!! Made my whole day !!! And I would be back soon !! Thank you all !! ❤️

Enjoy shopping at this grocery store, the employees and owner are so nice and make sure you are waited on. If you want or need a particular item they will try to get it for you. Their produce is always fresh. They appreciate your business and always tell you to come back.

My new favorite place to shop. Their meats are amazing. I thought I had been eating fresh, quality meat before but Kings will be where I purchase my meats from now on. I lived most of my life in a small community in the mountains of western NC. This store is reminiscent of the stores there. From the friendly down home people to the quality food offered.

Friendly “small town” grocery store with the best meat around, excellent beer selection, local products as well as the typical brands. Excellent service and good prices. I found a wine there that I really liked and when they stopped carrying it I asked and they called the supplier and have it now every time I go. I drive from Orange County just to shop at Kings Red and White.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! They are doing it right from the on premise butchered meat to the fresh produce. They are well stocked in fresh ham hocks, fat back, whole pig heads, pink salt and so much more. Reasonable prices for top quality food. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! They only thing I am mad about is the fact that it took me this long to start shopping here! Wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Do yourself a favor and visit this place! You will not be disappointed.

bought candied fruit last week for 7.29 at food lion. they charge 2.29. a lot cheaper in a lot of things and wonderful local fruits and vegetables. green peanuts right now that are great when boiled or roasted!

Every time I visit King's (Red&White)now apparently Supermarket I have a wonderful time. King's has.. luckily for all who shop there..managed to maintain the feeling of a retro grocery. It retains all of the best traits...personal service, probably the VERY BEST and most skilled butchers in the area, locally sourced produce, and even in house treasures of jams, preserves, cheese, local country ham and a host of things that are practically unique to this amazing grocery. O.K....I'm through gushing, but you simply HAVE TO visit this jewel..Oh.. The cashiers still hand ring the groceries at the two registers. (They do step outside the magical era long enough to be able to electronically take your 21st century payment method..but we'll forgive them that break in the "magic"...I never said they weren't SMART!! billy shepherd

I have been shopping here for over 10 years. Wonderful service from every staff member. The owners believe and support our community. I purchase all of my meat and produce at this store no exceptions! The produce is local, fresh, and fairly priced. It is the best shopping during the holidays. Everything u need for the holiday dinners including the old fashion candy we all grew up on. It is my favorite spot!

I remember frequently visiting King's Red and White as our neighborhood grocery as early as 1960. I still shop at this store now because it is convenient & brings back wonderful memories. For it's small size, it has a large selection of items, it's prices are quite reasonable, and the staff are very nice & friendly. I hope they stay in business forever!

I would give them 6 stars if I could. They are a dependable Durham institution. You can count on getting the best traditional southern groceries here. They have great meat and produce, as well as hard to find packaged brands. Their frozen butterbeans are the best substitute I have found for the ones my father used to grow in his garden. They care about their customers.
