Good selection of groceries and lots of friendly staff. Merchandise is regularly out of place though and their logistics process leaves boxes strewn about. Feels a bit junkier than normal for HT.

At 2/8/2024 at 10:57pm i went to this harris teeter to get a sub i placed an order for pick up at 11 when i walked in the store and went to the deli section to pick up the sub no one was there and my sub was not made i waited for 2 min and i very rude girl finally walked up and asked "what i need" very rudely i told her i was waiting on my sub she then rolled he eyes and said the sandwiche" shop dont open to eleven" and walked away before i could even talk. I just left and wont come back. And ive picked up subs way earlier from different harris teeter and others so i knew that was a lie.

This location needs to get it together. There were no available carts for atleast the third time in a row. Always lots of small issues when I come here lately. Poor management. Go to Roxboro rd location! They are on point!Or Food Lion on Horton or N roxboro.

Ken the MVP of Harris Teeter is incredible. His kindness, customer service, charisma, and work ethic embody what Harris Teeter stands for. Ken, and Harris Teeter inspire me EVERYTIME I shop there. I want to become a better person like Ken he’s the greatest of all time.

They must save their good service for afternoons and weekends because I've yet to receive a smile from anyone (manager, cashier, stock person, etc.) during the morning. Most of the time I'm treated like an inconvenience, which is really upsetting seeing that I'm there almost every week, spend good money thanks to their ballooning prices, have my cards and coupons ready to go, and always smile and say thank you to anyone who helps. And good luck having more than one register open. I'm over it. I no longer care that they are the closest store to me, I'll be driving to Trader Joes or Walmart from here on out.

This store is the best run one in our area in my personal opinion. Ruben is the store manager and super helpful and knowledgeable. And other employees are also willing to walk you to an item you have overlooked. The doughnuts are made fresh daily. Along with the sushi and the flowers are always great looking. The bread aisle spans about 4 aisles. The produce is always clean and stacked neatly. Tripping hazards are dealt with quickly. And there is usually an armed guard on duty.

Store refuses to open more than 2 registers at a time. Takes 15-20 mins in checkout line.

My recent visit to the Horton Rd Harris Teeter was good. They had everything that I was looking for. Even my protein bars. They were a little high, but I didn't have to make a separate stop. The porterhouse steaks in the counter looked great, and I picked up a family pack of 3. It was a pleasure also to find my ginger ale on sale. Buy 2 get 2 free. I can always find what I am looking for at Harris Teeter. I would recommend them for your shopping needs.

Great produce & deli, huge variety of groceries to select from. Just wish they weren't so pricey. Prices for the same thing at some other grocery stores are more economical by a $2 or $3 & that adds up quick when you are on a tight budget.

Good selection and price, pleasant staff. The Deli is abysmally incompetent, it takes forever to get your order. It's almost as if they were in a different dimension. It's a shame, because the deli itself has good selection, but the wait is not worth it.

Excellent customer service.I used the self check out and placed my pizza on the back of the register, and was distracted as I was leaving which caused me to forget the pizza.I drove a couple of miles and realized I had forgotten my pizza and returned to the store to find that the employee had sent it back to pizza section to keep it warm until I returned.I appreciate her attention to this purchase, it could have easily been picked up and taken away by another customer since it was paid for.

Very clean inside. Clean bathrooms. You can find some hard to find items here. They have some nice employees that work here.

I love this grocery store. Its always so very clean and well stocked with all my favorite items. Great produce selection, very fresh and clean. Deli is always smelling so good and has a varied and unique selection of quality items and cheeses. Staff are really outgoing and very helpful. The cashiers are very friendly and quick at checking you out and getting you on your way.

Produce dept needs a deep clean and culling. Prices are much higher compared to nearby grocery stores, even when shopping their sales. Some of the items I used to buy weekly are no longer available, forcing me to make purchases elsewhere. Real shame as HT used to be my favorite store.

Today was my last visit to this particular location. They need to put an item limit on self checkout. It makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE waiting in self checkout 15 minutes or longer while ppl scan a cart full of items at the slowest rate imaginable. It’s ridiculous. I’ve never seen anything like it besides at Walmart. Which is why I stopped shopping there. This use to be my local grocery store but I’m better off traveling a few miles somewhere else with the option of going in and out in a timely fashion.

Ordered 3 steak subs last week, got 3 ice cold steak subs. When I took them back in they just told me they will reheat them with all the toppings, by the time I opened the subs it was soggy and disgusting. Today I ordered a grilled chicken sub online. Got there and waited 15 minutes for a sub I ordered on line 30 minutes before. No problem they are busy not a big deal. I specifically asked the person that made my sub if the grilled chicken is a hit sub and they the reply was yes. Got home and sub isn't even toasted and again the chicken is cold. Shopping experience is great deli SUCKS and from my experience they don't seem to understand the concept of hot subs or just refuse to serve hot sub.To the managers could your please change the menu where it states ice cold steak subs and cold chicken. It's very misleading.

We bought "fresh" East Coast Shrimp this morning at Harris Teeter at Willowdaile. I opened the package at home and the bad odor was overpowering. I took the package outside, but the kitchen already smelled terrible. These "fresh yesterday" shrimp were badly spoiled with a bacterial slime growing over them. Many of the people working at the store are wonderful, but the overall product quality has definitely declined.

It's a Harris Teeter; moderate selection and somewhat costlier than FL or the Krogers HT shut down, but that aside, when a food-service establishment allows food to get out to the public looking like this, I really wonder what their walk-ins and reach-ins look like where the public can't see? Give that some thought. I may consider only buying sealed packaged goods here and skip their deli and prepared food. Cleaning a slicer is pretty simple, or you use one for cheese only to avoid contaminating a dairy product with meat—wonder how they store their food, keep prep areas or train for sanitation? And what about the rest of the store?

What an awful experience. Store itself is fine but the staff I personally dealt with are miserable excuses of workers. Esther, the cashier, yanked my ID out of my hand, didn't speak to me as she rang all my stuff up and threw my items back into my cart, gave me attitude for telling the customer service lady that Esther did not ask for my vic card or give me prompt to enter it (how am I supposed to know "ENTER ALT ID is for the vic card number?) And talked openly and loudly about me Infront of other customers and employees and the other cashier's laughed. What a lousy excuse of a store, staff and management. Will not come back.P.SIf you do come, don't give Esther your time.

I've shopped here for nearly a decade and it is nicer than any other option in the area. I'd call this place the medium-end grocery store in terms of quality vs price. Food Lion is low-end and Whole Foods is high-end. If you don't like their quality of food then go to a high-end store, and if you don't like their prices then go to a low-end store. This store is a balance between the two. The customer service is slow, mainly because there never seems to be someone available, but still will take care of your problem. You should ignore the Karen-reviews on this place, those customers aren't reasonable, normal people. The workers here are decent, especially considering they are working at a grocery store (which I'm sure is far from their dream job).

I really like this Harris Teeter in particular because it's not that far from home. I've been going there for a while so I know where everything is located they don't move the store around continuously like some supermarkets I've been to where I have to do a lot of walking just to find these items I need. Everybody is always very helpful I'm sort of handicapped and they always offer to put items into my car for me which I appreciate even though I don't always take them up on it. But the service is there and I appreciate it. Store is always clean and items are easy to locate. The restrooms are very nice and clean too.

After a year of shopping here, I’m mostly pleased. The store is pretty clean, well stocked, and they have a great variety of products. My main complaint is that the produce isn’t the greatest quality and is inconsistent. Additionally, I’ve had a few times that I picked up meat that had juices on the packaging, which is worrisome.

The Harris Teeter Pharmacy on Martin Luther King Parkway in Durham did not have my medication. The technician at that location found the medication I needed at the Harris Teeter Pharmacy on Horton Rd. in north Durham and transferred my prescription to that location. The technician from the Harris Teeter Pharmacy on Martin Luther King called me and told me that my prescription would be ready later in the afternoon yesterday. I left work at 4:30 yesterday afternoon and drove 20 minutes out of my way to the Harris Teeter Pharmacy on Horton Rd. I went to the pharmacy and waited 5 minutes while the pharmacy technician had a personal conversation with a coworker. After 3 or 4 minutes the pharmacy tech came to the register, asked my date of birth, which I provided to her, asked my name which I provided to her. She put the information into the computer system and said that my prescription was not ready and that the Harris Teeter on Martin Luther King had not finished one step in the process to complete the transfer of my prescription to the Horton Rd. location. It was at this moment she dismissed me and made it very clear that she was not going to pick up the telephone to call the Martin Luther King Parkway store and ask for the process to be completed. I then told her to cancel the prescription. I suppose I could have complained to her manager or to the pharmacist but my thought on the matter is why bother? The technician’s behavior is symptomatic of a cultural problem at the Harris Teeter location on Horton Rd. Mind you, my experience with the Harris Teeter pharmacy on Martin Luther King is not much better. Reduced gas prices or not, I will find another pharmacy to do business with.

Tried fumbling with my crumpled dollar bills about 10 times and it didn’t work. An employee named Imani helped and must have the magic touch cause it worked. Promote her to bill checker or sumn I guess. Now I know where to go to get my bills right. Also the store was very neatly organized and well kept.

Pretty much the best Harris Teeter in Durham. The store is always immaculately clean, staff are friendly and helpful (especially the butchers dept!). Clearly well run.As for selection they've got it all. Pizza bar, salad bar, sub station, suprisingly well made sushi, hot food bar with great daily deals, large selections of cheeses, olives, wine and beer, bakery that will fresh slice any of their breads while you wait. Produce variety and freshness is excellent, with even hard to find items like fresh bulk parsnips and celery root.Stock is rotated frequently and there are often AMAZING "Manager's Specials" on fine imported cheeses (probably to keep stock moving).

This location is always busy because it is the right side for convenient shopping. It has all of the nice features with fresh pizza, a great deli, seafood and meat sections in a right size store that is easy to get around in. They have ongoing sampling and tastings too that enhance the shopping experience.
