This is my wife and I's favorite food Lion. The selection is pretty average but it's in a very safe location with a police department nearby and the best Chinese restaurant in all of Durham.Overall it's nothing different than your standard food Lion but in the area that you feel safe going to at night, which is incredibly important especially to small women like my wife.

Best local neighborhood grocery store.Cashiers remarkably friendly, efficient and helpful. I always look forward to shopping at this store.The new store manger should be proud of this staff.

Decent prices but selection is poor and half the stuff on the shelf is expired by weeks. Go to Harris Teeter. You'll pay more but won't die.

Dude I swear check your items cause they don't get rid of the expired shi$!. Bought some Oreo thins and found out it has a date of April 28th 2023????. They really got Messed up!!!!!!!. And this is not the first time this Has happened. They don't care The one on guess road is better anyway!. I'm gonna return these and give them a piece of my mind and they better be ready!!.

I live less than 2 miles from this location, so it's convenient for me to shop there. Unfortunately, I always dread going in because the cashiers NEVER speak to me. There's no greeting, nor thank you for shopping with us today, no nothing. They don't even want to communicate the total. I always receive an unwelcoming vibe from cashiers. Oh, EXCEPT for Sheila. She's the ONLY one who has shown true customer service. If she's working, I would stand in her line for HOURS just to feel appreciated that I chose to shop there.

I've been coming to this food lion for as long as I've lived here...20+ years. It's had its ups and downs, overall positive. The employees running the registers are all pretty nice....some more than others. The stock staff are amazing. They are all super friendly. The deli is a HUGE problem right now. They are (suppose to be) open til 8pm. I can go in and they're closed. I asked aren't you open til 8? Yes, but I had to clean up. I said oh you're short handed? No she said. I tell her it's 7. She's standing there for an hour doing nothing. I go again guys this time he closed earlier and did his shopping. Today I go in at 6pm and there's a sign at break be right back. So I see the lady behind the counter she busy with trash and stuff. So I wait. She never speaks...walks past me into the back she must walk all the way around the store because she comes from the back of the deli and didn't pass me. I looking at my phone writing this review and she slaps the counter with her hand several times. I look up and she just looks at me. I ask for the meat and she seems ok after cutting the meat and handing it to me. The biggest problem is the time I've wasted coming back because they're closed or waiting 15-20 mins to even order. I just don't understand why companies continue to pay employees that don't work or are rude etc. I know they need people to work to keep the doors open... but if all businesses stopped allowing it they would have to work like they're supposed to or be unemployed.Basically the 2 stars are for the deli. The rest of the store is 5 stars.

I've gone here for years, however lately the cashiers they have been hiring are rude, choose who to be nice to and who they just don't like. They rarely smile and seem to wish they were anywhere but there. Rarely are there enough cashiers to handle the crowd. Complain if you want to, it just gets swept under the rug.

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! I spent 14 dollar on pork chop yesterday. After check out I guess the cashier forget to give it to me. Today I went back and told them and I should them my receipt and all they told me was to buy another pork chop. Worst food lion ever! Screw them and the manager.

Horrible customer service! I’ve shopped at this location for years and have noticed how lazy the associates have become recently, especially the younger ones. Sales associate, Leah got an attitude when I asked her if she was going to put my bags in the shopping cart after she’d rang them up. She told me since I was “standing there” I could’ve done it because the customers “sometimes” help. Now listen, I’m not above putting my bags in the cart because I have before but the operative word she said was “sometimes” meaning I’m not obligated to do a job she’s paid to do, especially with such a nasty attitude. And, I told her as much. She then turns to another associate who is checking out her own customer and asks her if she wants to put my bags in the cart in an attempt to try and humiliate me while customers waited behind me. Then, another associate who claimed to be her sister comes over to argue a point she didn’t have or was asked. I couldn’t believe the utter disrespect of employees. Like, y’all work here. The manager assured me that he would address the situation and get back with me but I’m still waiting two weeks later. I’m in no way in the mindset that the “customer is always right” but when I patronize any business I expect to be treated with respect. It seems good customer service is becoming a thing of the past.

Only thing this Food Lion has going for it is its location. Other than that, this store has problems with re-stocking shelves & ordering/supply chain issues. Trying to order anything from the deli is also problematic. The staff either doesn't want to help you, or when you get some one to help, they aren't trained well on how to slice. You'll ask for "sliced thin" & you'll get shavings. If you select from their slicing scale on thickness, you'll get ham steak slices. Find another food lion to go to. Avoid this one.

We always go here for groceries and we have never had a problem. Very clean and nice people to. They have everything you need. Food Lion is a great store to shop at. I highly recommend making this your go to store.

Latta and Roxboro FL needs more cashiers.. or at least ones that care to help that one cashier that has 20 ppl on their line.Long lines at this one and no self check out lane..

Pretty busy and many items out if stock due to the supply chain issues that all stores are having. However, we were able to get in and out quickly and even managed to buy some Girl Scout cookies from a booth outside.

I really like this Food Lion a lot. I always get friendly customer service and it is always well stocked. The only problem I ever had is the incline in the parking lot. It is quite the task to try to unload your car and keep it from rolling down the hill!

Food lion has cone a long way and gotten more upscale. I find myself making trips there to get items in cant seem to find anywhere else anymore. So do that I give them 5 stars.

Woefully short on organic items. Also, wish they had a self checkout line. When you do find something you want their prices are generally good. Still, this store simply doesn't have everything I need. Could be much better.

This particular store employees one of the fastest check out clerks. He was friendly, engaging and fast as the road runner. Very clean store with a nice veggie and fruit section. Earned eight MVP dollars!

No parking spaces for regular customers and now they have taken 4 larger parking spaces for something called CALL & PICK UP spaces. I still have, to get, seen 1 car in those spaces. I have been a customer for over 25 years and find it hard to find parking. Why weren't those 4 spaces on parking at the end of the building,,,,not right in front of the store.?????? No problem with staff,,,very friendly and helpful.

Its probably closer to two stars but I'm in a good mood. The staff is not as good as other Food Lions - specifically the one on 401 in Fuquay. That Food Lion meets and exceeds. The employees at this store are slow at the registers so you're likely to stand on line longer than you would like. When you ask for them to scan a store card they send you to customer service who will offer you a card but not adjust your receipt. Not cool.

I've been here in Durham for one month and you can bet I'll be shopping elsewhere. Nothing to do with prices, store location, cleanliness etc., but the funky attitude displayed by the cashier "Sonya". You only get one chance to make a first impression. As I waited in line I noticed she had no problem saying hello and holding a conversation and thanking the two sets of customers before me, but she didn't open her mouth, barely even looked at me and other than telling me my total, that was it. Not that it matters, I was dressed in shorts, a polo shirt and baseball cap, so it couldn't have been my attire, and for those that feel I might should've spoke to her first, she works for Food Lion, it's her responsibility to greet me, the customer. So, I'll drive a bit farther and give Kroger or some other store my money.

I love Food Lion for what it does NOT have. You know that certain kind of person who has to "speak to the manager" about everything? She doesn't shop in Food Lion. That certain kind of person who acts all put out that they have to stand in line next to people who don't speak their language or attend their country club? He doesn't shop in Food Lion. The prices are lower on many name brands because there's no sample trays or glossy artifice. Some days you just want to save a buck and not have to be exposed to A-holes. Welcome to Food Lion.
