Good products with nice choices , definitely more expensive than even Whole Foods, especially being a Co-Op…The girl at the counter for sandwiches could not have been less friendly if she tried. Location sadly takes precedent for this place.

Wow! This place is amazing and i love that everything here is local. Such a friendly staff. The produce section is awesome. We had to stop to get sushi for my daughter. They also offer MTO menu. Nice parking and outdoor seating area.Loved it!

Nice to have a grocery store in this area as there are not many other choices. They do have nice produce and decent selection of products with a nice coffee bar and kombucha on draft. It is a little small so not as much choice is available. Staff are very friendly and welcoming which is a nice thing add it means you feel comfortable shopping here. Parking is good with a nice big lot so no problems accessing the store. They do have a nice picnic table area or front as well.

In Durham for work and was referred to The Durham Co-op as I love to bring my lunch and have food in the hotel. The store had great lunch options, wine and cheese. Wish we had one of these in Charlotte. I will definitely be back on my next work trip.

Relatively small market, with a good selection of grocery items. Prices are high, but what you’d expect at a co-op. Food bar was really lacking in options.. but may be due to a renovation project. Probably atypical? Outside seating area, although covered, was muddy and unusable, at least not with kiddos.

Came for dinner on a meatless Monday for the vegan options. That night they had curry, cilantro rice, and sweet coconut rolls I believe. The food was very good. The space to eat was not clean and kind of grossed me out. Part of it was people not cleaning up after themselves, part was dead flies laying on a table and all around the window. Not exactly what you want to look at when you’re eating. Next time I’ll probably eat outside.Lots of great products you can’t find everywhere.Updated to add that each visit after my first has been much cleaner in the eating area - no flies!

Nice staff, great place and varieties of some products that are rare to find anywhere else. Good environment although the cafeteria could be cleaner. Good stop before going home.

Great place to shop. From local beer and wine to kombucha. Also, very cheap peanut butter grinding station and coffee in bulk with several Counter Culture varieties. They have organic produce, a deli, pies from East Durham Pie and a buffet with food.

Not really cheap but they have a good variety of organic produce and locally grown vegetables. They have a selection of cheese, some drinks, little bit of meat products, some ready food like salads etc.

I really love this place! I moved from Raleigh to Durham a while back, and when I changed cities I wanted to be more committed to helping the community and take part in the offerings of the city/rural areas. This Co-Op is in a pretty accessible area for everyone, the only shortcomings have nothing to do with the store, but city planning making walking/biking places difficult. It's a really lovely atmosphere when you're inside, the produce is absolutely beautiful, they have nice indoor and outdoor seating, and they even have one of the community "Little Library" stands outside in their picnic area. It's a wonderful mixed use space for people to shop, get a bite to eat, and relax. I love it.

A lil pricy but good produce, handcrafted foods like this apple walnut chicken salad is so good. Could not find regular crackers only saw plant based ones which didn't taste bad but crumb so fast. The gluten free blueberry cheesecake was delicious. My son loved the sushi.

Great produce and a prepared food section that helps us get through the week.

If they ask if you want a receipt - say yes ... and if they don't offer to give you a receipt - ask for it - and then check to make sure they haven't double charged on random items ....Some members of the team may want to rethink working a job facing the public - or try to be a little friendlier to customers.

This is a nice co-op. It's in a very convenient location and though small it has a decent selection. The produce section is stocked very nicely with locally sourced produce, and they actually have a killer beer selection. They offer a lot of pre-made meals which is great, however the sandwiches my husband and I purchased were a little lackluster, especially for the price. If I lived in that area and needed a few things here and there, I would stop in, but I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here.

I'm a member of the Durham Co-op Market and I strongly believe in their values and mission. I love the fact that they support local farmers, small organic farms and only sell meat from suppliers that don't subscribe to animal cruelty. They pay a living wage to all of their employees as well. I have nothing bad to say about the Durham Co-op Market.

I love this place. I really do. I think the variety of vegetarian and vegan options is amazing, as well as the quality of food they provide. Being an owner was a really great investment. However, my biggest issue is some of the staff here. They're generally all very welcoming, but the last few times I've shopped here the same individuals have acted unpleasant and as if they don't want to be at work. There's also a lot of socialization that happens at the register and that's fine at times, but when I'm asking a question and it goes unanswered so they can talk to a co-worker about something unrelated to work is very frustrating. I'll keep coming back here, but maybe some retraining for some of your staff would be helpful.

I love the fresh faces the food is really good and well cared for I like that the water station is clean this is personal but I like great food and a clean store. Thank you for the warm greetings. And inquiring about my day I feel truly part of the fabric of Durham when I am in the co-op. A particularly touching moment was seeing an elderly man in fruit and produce as his family came in and sang Happy birthday to him his wife his children his grandchildren it was great to see the generational interaction and love. Missing some of my favorite people old favorites.

This is a good neighborhood grocery store. However, some of the prices are a bit high. $9 a loaf for gluten free bread is a bit ridiculous. However, the coffee is great. They have a nice selection of smoothies, pastries and hot bar items. I particularly like the fact that they celebrate Hanukkah and kwanza. They also help the community a lot through donations to urban ministries of Durham. I have always received excellent service from the staff. I just wish that some of the staples and snacks were less pricey. Usually gluten free bread runs between 5-6 dollars.

Good people! Food costs more but it is aimed more towards those who prefer gluten free, organic and healthier food choices. It ain’t your typical store! I enjoyed my visit ! Thanks guys !!!

Great place to buy beer! They have sales on items so do some digging. Great shopping environment! Nice and peaceful! The hot foods section smelled amazing but was not open, yet, when I shopped there.

This long-awaited store is a real joy. The cafe features many non-meat and often vegan dishes on the hot bar, and on Monday evenings the hot bar is all-vegan for "Meatless Monday". The head cook for this event is great--lots of variety and much down-home cooking. The rest of the store is good too...a very sufficient bulk section, and about everything you really need in a natural foods store. They get in fresh, locally-baked bread from several sources, as well as many other items. The staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome and at home.

Great market, with an impressive variety of everyday and special groceries. Open to everyone, with the option of becoming a member-owner. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. There's also a small hot bar and deli, with seating areas inside and outside for those who want to eat there. Many locally-produced items. For those who want to become member-owners, there is a one-time cost of around $100, some of which you get back in the format of gift card (there are also monthly deals for members, but most of the value is in having a market that is guaranteed to stay locally controlled and community-focused.
