I made a purchase at this store that included 1 pack of paper towels. I clipped a $3 off coupon in the mobile app and a $5 coupon from the app for spending over $25 on Saturday. The employee overcharged me for the paper towels by scanning it twice. He was talking on his cell phone complaining about being short-staffed. The 3 dollar coupon was applied to my purchase not the $5 store coupon. The sales associate told me I would need to call the corporate office for a refund or resolution. I called the corporate office the same day. The customer service representative was professional and detailed and assured i would get a call from the district manager within 24 hours. In this case Monday since it was a weekend. I received no phone call. I called back the same number 3 days later. They were able to look up my complaint through the reference number that was given to me. Apologized and assured me I would get a call from a district regional manager of this location within 24 hours. NO PHONE CALL. I have seen in a previous review someone else was double charged for an item as well. SHALL I SAY FRAUD IS HAPPENING IN THIS LOCATION? PROBABLY WHY I NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL FROM ANY REGIONAL DISTRICT MANAGER! BEWARE!

It was overall a horrible experience! Very bad Customer Service. It was difficult to find items. A few sale items were available. Forget about asking for help there is none. Store might as well be operated by robots, I think they would be nicer. Employee went out of her way to display rude behavior. Store was not clean. I will not shop here in the future.

Stopped at this store while traveling with my sick daughters to get medicine at 8:30 on 10/31/22. Sign on door states 9pm closing, not to mention I was guided there off my route by gps. 2 fellas working and when they saw us pull in locked the door and pulled the gate. Just rude and unprofessional. Then stood in my face and talked about not doing no more work… these people are sun else. If u don’t wanna work then stay home

I must say that this use to be a great place to shop but now it's not for one thing the people there treat the customer badly and the customer should come first and they need to be more nicer to the customer after all we pay their salary and without us they wouldn't have a job

Staff very helpful to me. One of the cashier's saw that I was having problems in one of the aisles and came over and provided assistance. I must admit that I thought he was a customer as I wasn't expecting that. I needed distilled water and he told me what was available then went to get it for me. I don't know I'd it was because he saw that I was using a cane and trying to keep my 5 year old grandson interested in something not toy related or if he's just a great guy with excellent customer service skills, but he certainly exceeded my expectations for quality!

I'm a huge fan of this particular Dollar General. The layout is so much more conducive to finding the things that you need to. The employees are always amazingly helpful and they're friendly for the most part. When I say for the most part, I just mean that not everyone is sunshine and rainbows, they're all great.Basically they are able to operate on a model that works like retail used to, instead of the way things work in this online superstore world. This means that the employees are pretty responsible for the store and they are generally knowledgeable about where products are or what they have.If I don't want to deal with the hassle of running in the grocery store and going down all the aisles, this is the place I stopped. The prices are great and if you join the club that every store *must* have, they're even better. They also tend to have great holiday supplies for a bargain. If you're a bargain hunter for food products you should add Dollar General to your rotation of stores. They have deals that make them more competitive than grocery stores constantly.Definitely check these guys out if you're in the neighborhood and need something (practically anything really, as it's basically a riff on the old-school general store).

Hands down the best DG I've ever been to. This location is right by my work so I go often. Aside from the store being very clean and well organized, the staff is incredibly helpful. Every time I've been, I've gotten a hello upon entering and a sincere goodbye. I've worked in the service industry for a long time, so I recognize and appreciate when people take pride in their jobs - this crew sets the bar for how to do that... they're as genuine as it gets!

Always a pleasure to visit a Dollar General with a variety of items from frozen food to toiletries to medicine. The staff is friendly, helpful, and keep the place clean. It's easier to shop for some food items here than it is at Whole Foods. Four stars because they need to restock on many of their items, and actual dollar items are rare.

The isle's were full of new stock it's kinda like a maze in there sometimes but it's kinda of a common thing for some reason with these "Dollar stores" which that name is no longer relative to the prices in store! Nothing is a dollar nowadays! It should be the 5 quarter store or two buck shop. Or Under 5 dollar store!

I love coming to this store. They have a bit of everything. It's only a mile away from where I live so if I don't feel like making the trip to Walmart this is where i go! They have changed a lot. Everything is always stocked up & clean. The cashiers are very social with you and make sure you got all that you needed!

OMG- can not believe how trashy this place is! The employees are AWFUL! Absolutely no customer service. I routinely see staff not wearing face masks properly- usually under the nose or chin. Especially this one employee; he talks nonstop, can't be bothered to wear the mask properly. Does management exist here?Avoid this place if you can.

Poor inventory! Never have the common items that I'm looking for. Other than my meat, this is a one-stop-shop for me after work. Laundry soap I'm looking for, they're out of weeks upon weeks. Store isn't fully stocked. Shameful!

As big as this Dollar General is I couldn't find a pack of pencils for school supplies. You'd think they would stock up better this time of year! Other than that I can at least move around easier in this one on Broad st.

Didn't like the way employees are being treated by corporal I asked to use the restroom and was told they didn't have any running water and employees had used a portable toilet outside and wash their hands outside in a portable hand wash. So I didn't spend any money there I left. please pay your water bill, employees shouldn't have to work in that kind of environment. having to go outside in the dark and use a portable toilet it's dangerous in Durham you have homeless people sleeping outside by your building where is the employees safety and the customers safety. Someone could be waiting for you to come out of that thing with a gun and make your employee open the door and Rob and kill them.

Absolute WORST customer service. I went yesterday to purchase some table cloths and the cashier was rude. I thought, "Ok, maybe she's just having a bad day." I had to go back today to exchange some of the table cloths for a different kind, and the same cashier was at the register. She was even more rude to me today. She acted like it was a total inconvenience for her to have to make the exchange. At first, she saw what I was exchanging and made an even trade without scanning anything. I got halfway out the store and realized the ones I was getting were cheaper so I got back in line (and at this point there were several people in line). I explained to her that I knew the difference was minimal but this was for work so I needed to have the money returned. She let out a huge sigh, and with a major attitude scanned everything (the correct way to make an exchange), and then asked for my card, which I didn't have. She said she needed the card to give the refund, especially since I used credit. I understand this policy, so I asked her if she could put it on a gift card or something, no. I asked her what she would have me do. Again with major attitude she told me to take the even exchange or return with the card. I don't have time to be going back and forth, so I just took the even exchange. I was extremely appalled at the lack of customer service... I'm sorry (not), but isn't it customers who purchase items at your store the ones who give you the service to pay your salary?? I am currently trying to contact a manager. Do not go to this store. Go where your service is appreciated... you know... at all the other, close by Dollar Generals.

Surprisingly stocked, compared to a previous visit. Nice guys behind the counter. Good place to grab quick items without dealing with a giant grocery store and those typical parking woes.

This is one of the best dollar generals around. Store was very clean, had a lot of good merchandise and good sales! Sales associate was very personable and nice. Made for a good shopping experience.

The service here it terrible. I was in today, and there were people fighting over cutting in line. Of course, they had a point--there were 15 people in a single line, with one poor guy working his tail off while the manager and two other people smiled at all of us and did not attempt to help out. It was chaos, and the manager deserves to be fired. Pathetic service. Even worse than Wal Mart. I would gladly give any retailer my money if they would just care a little about their customers. Dollar General Store is a horrible company.

this week buy refreshments, you will not see the expiration date for the style of packaging, when you get home check a jar and matures from December 2015 as it is possible that employees have the ckase product sale of people. products with 3 months of being defeated.
