This place was recommended by a friend of mine, so I took my 4 month old puppy to get his first haircut. They did such a great job! I'm very pleased with it and will definitely be bringing him back. Although it is a little difficult to reach someone over the phone, they are good at calling back. The staff there is very friendly and would recommend this place to any dog parent.

Everyone in my family has been taking our dogs here for years and years! Every time I've had to take my dogs anywhere else, I have regrets. They're very accommodating, work quickly, and my dogs don't leave with cuts and scrapes like they will at other groomers. My anxious dog also does very well here! Very well priced too. Only thing I'll say is if they tell you to pick up at 2 pm (for example), my dog usually isn't ready for another 15-30 minutes, so I just tend to come a little bit later.

After trying to get through the pandemic grooming her myself, I brought my small labradoodle to The Dog Stylist for the first time recently and had a great experience. My pup can be difficult to groom and the groomers listened to my concerns and made me feel heard. Jill (the owner) did her best to keep some fur on my easily matted labradoodle and she came out looking clean and cute. Thank you Jill and team!

our Doodle has been to half a dozen groomers and this is by far the happiest we've been with his cut! Their flexibility is best in class and you can tell the whole team is very passionate. I feel terrible for forgetting to tip! Definitely will be coming back.

I gave this place a lot of chances. On his last visit they cut his leg during grooming and it was a $200 vet bill because it got so infected. Additionally there have been a couple times where I have picked my dog up and his hair cut looked good but I could tell he wasn’t bathed as he still felt grimy. The positives of this place is that they can get you in quick and don’t take too long (4 hours for my large dog)

Great place for grooming. Everyone is friendly. My Shih Tzu's haircut came out great. I was not able to go into the business due to my cat phobia; it is my fault for not reading the website thoroughly since they house several cats. A fellow customer was nice enough to help bring in my two dogs and Jill came out to speak with me. Overall, great work I would definitely recommend

I've been going here for many years. The owner is quirky but my dogs liked her. This time, however, she had someone in helping her and we had the worst experience I've ever had at a groomers. They were over half hour late of the pick up time, and had clearly just started, which meant that my dog was in a cage for at least 6 hours. They bad mouthed other clients together, they mistreated the dogs being groomed, yelling at them and laughing when the dogs yelped in pain. The helper made several incorrect comments about my dog that showed her lack of knowledge about dogs. And after all that, the cut was uneven. I no longer trust this groomer.

Jill groomed my two Standard Poodles for almost 10 years, from the time we arrived in the area until we moved away. She always did an excellent job. She is attentive to every detail, and my dogs didn't leave without looking picture perfect. I highly recommend her and her staff.

Super thankful for Jill, Tina and co. at Dog Stylists. They do excellent work and have really helped my rescue dog's coat improve over the last year. They're flexible and accommodating with scheduling and the products they use are gentle on my dog's sensitive skin. I love that they support local dog rescues and they also foster/rescue cats. There are cats on premise so be mindful of that. I recommend giving a call and asking about availability for the week or following week. Keep in mind this shop is only run by a few people - there's no designated receptionist to answer the phone, etc. so be patient if it takes a second for someone to pick up your call or to take your dog back if both groomers are working on dogs because it's worth it! Sadly I've moved away from Durham and won't be able to take my dog there anymore, but you should definitely check them out!

Absolutely love this place! When we adopted our dog this is where she had always gone and I wanted to keep taking her to people she knew and trusted. They are extremely helpful and kind. They know the doggy biz and I seriously couldn’t ask for such better ladies to trust with my pet! Highly recommend!

Can't say enough wonderful things about them! They get us in quickly and do a fantastic job with our scruffiest shelter rescues. It is amazing, the transformations they perform, making our dogs look and feel better! We love that they support rescue dogs!

My chow-shepherd mix is 12 years old and has never been groomed outside of the vet's office before coming here. They did a fantastic job with her, and she didn't have any anxiety being dropped off there, so the energy they give off had to have been good. They'll be my go-to for grooming needs going forward.

I recently brought my bulldog there to be bathed and get her nails trimmed. The staff did and excellent job and they were very thorough. The owner used to do dog shows if that gives you some insight. Keep in mind it's not the Ritz Carlton however, they are well priced, give exemplary service, and I highly recommend them.

Jill and her staff are great, and they do a fantastic job on our dog.We have been taking our Scotty to Jill for over a year now, and she and her staff are experts. I tried grooming him myself, but always struggled to get him hold still. With Jill he steady and calm! And when I pick him up he looks just great. When I drop him off he is happy to see the people, Jill's poodles (who are very laid back), and the cats; some of the cats are permanent residents and some she fosters to adopt out. (Our Scotty loves cats.) I think these companion animals helps to keep him calm and interested, not bored. When I pick him up it is obvious he is well treated. Jill and her staff are experienced dog stylist, and have groomed champion show dogs (including Scotties). Jill was very patient and took the time to why she cuts his hair a certain way. They are very good with handling the animals, and do not brook any nonsense or bad behavior - think Cesar Milan.One reviewer commented about the facility being not up to par. They are located in an old house, not a store in a shopping center. It is clean and well ventilated, but not glitzy with bright florescent lights. The lighting at the dog stylist is at a comfortable on the eyes, and I believe animals feel calmer and more at home in this environment I think that Jill is able to keep her prices low because she does not have a high overhead.

Awful experience. I should’ve listened to all of the other bad reviews. Dropped my dog off between 9:15-9:30 AM. Was told he should be ready at 4:30 PM. Owner called me at 4:23 saying he wouldn’t be ready until 5:30. Got there at 5:30, owner said he wouldn’t be done until 6 PM. She definitely rushed his cut, he is uneven all over after being there all day. Poor guy. On top of all of that she charged me 110 dollars for an uneven groom, taking 90 minutes over the said pickup time with 0 advance notice. I can’t say this enough do not take your dog here

The exterior and interior of the place leaves you wondering if you're in the right place and whether or not you should leave your beloved pet here, but don't worry you won't regret it.They do a great job here and the are flexible in their scheduling as well. I can always stop by and have my dogs nails ground with little notice. This is the only place my dog lets grind her nails as well.

My 1yr old puppy has been to other groomers before and simply loves the attention and pampering. I should have known not to leave her there to be groomed after seeing how filthy the place was. I just didn't want to judge this book from it's cover. I tell you now this particular place is precisely like it looks. Trashy. The woman told me there was a little nick in her armpit. That little nick was way bigger than a nick, it was half the size of a dime!!! She blamed it on how jumpy my dog is. I guess my dog is just a good judge of character. When I took my puppy to Petsmart for the first time(heavily matted), she greeted me when I picked her up with a wagging tail and tons of kisses. And the 2 times that followed, same thing. Happy puppy showing off her new haircut. When I went to pick her up from here, her tail was tucked down under her and she wouldn't go for a walk without sitting and whining every 3-4 steps. When I would crouch down, she would jump up in my arms and ball up. I'm not going to make any accusations but my little angel was mistreated somehow to carry on like this. I will absolutely NEVER take her here again and I am telling everyone that I know to not even give them a chance. If you love your dog, do not go here.

Genuinely the worst groom our dog has ever had. We asked them to keep him shaggy and leave his beard long. When we picked him up he was essentially shaved and his beard was practically non-existent, which is the opposite of what we requested. Not only that, but the shave was wildly uneven. He has some tufts of hair that are an inch to inch and a half long.If you just want your dog's hair shorter (on 95% of their body) then go here. If you actually want them to look styled/cute, go elsewhere.

I've been taking my Persians to Dog Stylists for 6 or 7 years and my shih tzu there since we adopted him 2 1/2 years ago. All four animals always are returned to us neatly groomed and feeling well.Jill, the owner, is an incredible supporter of several local animal rescue groups and she regularly helps the APS of Durham groom severely neglected animals. I am happy to take my animals to Dog Stylists and support a local business that does so much good for stray animals in Durham County.

I am here in Chapel hill just visiting for a couple days. I decide to take my puppy to Dog Stylist grooming for a wash and trim. When I got there I automatically felt unwelcomed. The groomers were having their own conversation and didn't greet me until five or ten minutes after I arrived. I let the lady at the front desk know that I called a couple minutes before hand. She asked what kind of puppy did I have and I told her a full blooded maltese. She asked me was I sure and I said yes. She goes on to say who ever told me that they lied because all malteses are white not black. I was highly upset because what does it matter if my dog was black, white, yellow, whatever color. I know what kind of puppy I have and I have paper work on him as well. She could have just kept the ignorant comment to herself. Even though I was highly upest I was still going to give this place a chance. The groomer told me that I could come back in four hours to pick my puppy up. I'm sorry but fours is way to long of a wait I immediately and politely said never mind and I asked for my puppy back. The groomer sprays my puppy with water and handed him to me soaking wet. This place is so unprofessional and I would never recommend this place to anyone visiting this area.

For my first time getting my dog groom, they did a very good job, I call them oneday the next day my shihtzu was bath and groom, was very happy , customer service was great, my shihtzu came home happy. I will continue service with them. World class service.
