The store was junky and disorganized. For example, the drinks were on two separate aisles in different parts of the store. Holiday items were also scattered about in different areas. Some items had prices on them, others were a mystery. I haven't been to a food store where no prices were on the racks below the items, but this store had nothing in many areas. A 4-pack of orange crush only had 2 bottles in it, but sticker priced the same as a 4-pack. Maybe someone broke or stole the other 2. A black lady working there kept staring at me, so rude. I glanced up/back at her 3 different times and she was just staring at me. 👀 Luckily when I went to check out, she was somewhere else and I didn't have to see her face again. Otherwise, I was going to ask why she kept staring at me. It was quite awkward and gave me a weird vibe. They are supposed to close at 9 as posted on the door, but it is really 8:45-8:50. I arrived at 8, and for 40 mins until I left, customers were told on the loud speaker that the store was closing and to bring all items to the front. I was glad to leave this junk store.

I would not even give this location a single star, Hillary the manager was very helpful in our situation and done the best she could since being new to big lots herself and trying to figure out all the correct measures to take, She even stayed overtime to help us get our situation resolved. BUT Beth the acting manager after Hillary had left was the most HORRIBLE & DISRESPECTFUL women I've ever dealt with in customer service. Her language and tone was just plain not nasty - not to mention her saying she wouldn't even be helping us if it was up to her, Which made me wonder was starting to become a racial thing... COME ON Big Lots - you can do better!! This place shouldn't even be open!!!!!

Poor experience the items were not purchased correctly. The sales manager stated the pricing was from two years ago and she refused to update them. The manager also did not want to accept cash because she did not want to count the drawer at the end of the day poor customer service. I hope to find a different big lots with better management and better customer service. Just because we are in a Covid crisis does not mean it is OK to give poor customer service because it’s not.

It is hard to find anything that is priced. They totally don't keep up with shelf tag pricing. The prices they do have are really not that great anymore and there products are all cheap Chinese imports. They hardly do any brand name closeouts which was what made their name. It's becoming a furniture store in a Family Dollar.

This location has totally stepped up their game. New store layout makes so much more sense and the cleanliness/organization adds to the shopping experience. Quality products at discounted prices and the staff was helpful and friendly. There was a small line of 3 with only one cashier open when I got in line and they called another cashier up... I wasn't even in line for 5 mins. Will be shopping here way more often!

Employees were awesome and the place was very clean. I haven't been to Big Lots in a while and their prices for toys are a lot more expensive than other places. But they do have a wide variety of other items at discount prices.

Store was not opened at 9:00 am instead a manager that was not on the schedule for that Day came in at close to 11:00 . While employee's waited and Customer's came and left .and that was not the first time that the store did not open on time .

I Literally Came in to buy a recliner and the cute little sofa set In the gentleman told me that the pillows they didn’t come with the Sofa sad when I look at the price of a pillow I know that they were playing 8.99-12.99 Each so I said to the gentleman who was trying to sell me the living room set I said throw in for a pillow and I’ll spend the $1300 for the Sofa set He told me no so I spent spent my money somewhere else

Great customer service. I was only there to return a piece that was too small for my needs. A lady from furniture came out to my truck without hesitation to lift it for me--but not before making some recommendations first. I appreciate that extra effort and courteousness.

Would rate this score lower if there was an option for that...rude manager unfriendly staff...had a tag saying coke was 3 for $15 dollars got to register and sale had ended but in most places they will honor it not here...

Great variety of non-refrigerated food. Some selections that you do not find at other stores. Reward card sends coupons to participating members in email to customers who make purchases on 3 different days using their rewards card.

Free parking, handicap accessible, large variety of items from household furniture, linens, food items, seasonal decorations plus some garden, automotive, pet food and other pet related things. There isn't much they don't carry and at discounted prices. I shop there often for miscellaneous needed items. Additionally, they have increased the quantity of brand names they are carrying with large seasonal sections.

This is for Big Lots on Avondale: more expensive than Glenwood ave store. Helpful staff. Manager Donny, who was especially kind and graciously gave me my discount when my coupon wouldn't work (was only for certain stores, which Avondale was not). That was a big help!

Clean store with ample elbow room. Courteous and knowledgeable associates. A very pleasant shopping experience. Purchased a sofa and loveseat, but when they were delivered, 2 loveseats had been sent. The acting manager at the Durham, NC store (Terri), was more than apologetic and helpful in quickly fixing an obvious factory screwup. She was courteous, genuine and flexible on our options. If I could give Big Lots 10 Stars, I would! My personal thanks for turning a bad experience into a very pleasant one. One that has definitely made me a loyal customer!! *10 Stars*

I like the store but a lot of prices are not marked anywhere and it is frustrating. Also sales items ring up at full price so you have to watch that.

This is another place where you go for one item and end up with a cart full of things that you know you needed but didn’t know that you needed! It’s always tidy and never cluttered. There’s always smiling faces.
