The food was very good!My husband had fried chicken and we were amazed that they cook it to order so they chicken hadn't been setting under no heat light it was fresh and my husband said it was really good. I ordered the cheeseburger and the meat definitely was not a frozen patty. We will be going back for that fresh home-cooked meal. The staff was pleasant and acted like they were family.

Man, listen. This has been a hidden gem for sure. I had no idea they were tucked back there in the cut of Edenton. I found them randomly by doin a search for a good milkshake near me and boy, did it I find it. It is an absolutely beautiful establishment in a beautiful and serene location. It makes for a perfect spot for a picnic if you want to eat outside. Theyre located by a little creek where you can fish and...its just beautiful. I love it. I came on a beautiful day too. It was just perfect. Now, for the food. It was amazing. It was absolutely fresh and enjoyable. I got just a quarter pounder combo and it was fresh to order. The beautiful lady was nice enough to sub my drink for thr milkshake and that was amazing too. So good in fact, I went back and got another one for the road. I definitely recommend anyone to stop thru here and enjoy their food, company, and the embience surrounding that restaurant. Its just astounding. I will definitely be back.

The 2nd visit $17 for 2 barbeque sandwiches and 2 ice cream cones?? Ridiculous. I ordered 2 chocolate dipped vanilla cones and got 2 chocolate ice cream cones. The first time I went the poor counter girl musta been new cause she didnt know what she was doing or talking about. Going to Famous Subs next time for barbeque and Food Lion for ice cream.

Very nice little ice cream store on the side of the road toward the bay water in Edenton. Nice friendly people (owners) inside. We stopped there for ice cream. Milkshakes and hot fudge Sunday was basic and good! The front window had large pictures of some things on their menu such as corn dog or hot dog. Parking lot is small but enough for 5 to 10 vehicles to park there. Few tables outside with umbrellas if I remember correctly.

Food is really tasty. The younger workers need to have on caps or wider headbands to cover their hair. For health codes. This might stop customers from dining there.

Had breakfast there this weekend ordered a chicken biscuit and cheese grits. My son ordered an egg and cheese biscuit with home fries. The chicken was flavorfull but fried a bit too hard. The biscuit was undercooked with an off putting aftertaste. The grits were buttery cold,stiff and the shredded cheese was placed on top. The home fries we good and again my son didn't like the aftertaste from the biscuit. I'll probably go back I just won't get a biscuit of any kind.

The workers, for the most part, are friendly. The food on the other hand, not so much. Very greasy "fresh" fries. The hot sausage was too tough to eat. A waste of money.

Nice place to grab a sweet treat. We had ice cream cones and a hot fudge sundae. Staff was very welcoming and answered all our questions.

Young girl working the register kept rolling her eyes and was not helpful at all. Almost as we were an inconvenience to be supporting the establishment. Said she was going to ask her manager a question about our order then sat there in silence staring at us. Once she handed me my ice cream I said thank you ma'am and again I got an eye roll.

Where do I start?? Been going here forever. Good food at a reasonable price! The folks that work there are very friendly. I go at least once a week with my friend Brenda who is also a big fan! Always support great places and this place has been a part of Edenton since the 70's! I think! Lol Getting ready to make my way over there for lunch, Barbaque and fries! YUM!

You must overlook the staff cleaning the dining room while customer come and go...and not discretely...sweeping it all right to the middle of the space so you must step over the pile of dirt and debris as you walk to the counter to order. The sanitation station for guest as you come in and leave was unkempt looking and in much disarray. The small soft serve sundae was a child size serving and over $3.50. Can't testify to anything else other than the dipped ice cream which was good but not worth the price and appearance of the place. A section of the kitchen area was opaque plastic covered for some odd reason...just not a clean appearance over all - and sometimes appearance is everything.

Purchase a banana split and all the toppings was spoiled. Manger was disrespectful didn't apologize or ask me did I want anything in place of my order. After I had got my money back and left the store manager told her workers to put the spoiled toppings back out to serve to the other customers that comes in. The meat that they sell is also bad it tastes funny and it's not good at all. I believe that everything that they sale there is spoiled. If you don't want your family to get sick this is not a good place to take your family to. Please stay away. I tried them several times and got the same results thinking it was going to be better but it wasn't. So I say to all that is thinking about going there do not go.🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Unless you are really hungry & everything else is closed....... keep driving!! Sliced cheese is about as thick as the burgers. Would not recommend!!! The one star is only because of the drink & that I had to give a rating. Sorry, just being honest

My husband and I like to take our boat across the sound to eat at The Freeze. We pull up in the little creek that runs next to it and walk over. The staff is amazing! The food never disappoints, and the ice cream is unbelievably delicious. It is one of my children's favorite places to go after a boat ride. Highly recommend. Close to downtown Edenton.

Dining room needs to be open. Drive thru needs to listen carefully & not interrupt when someone is ordering. Wait until they have finished speaking then talk. I had to repeat my order to many times.

Very bad experience. I use to come to The Freeze a couple years ago, but however the service and food went downhill. The employees were very rude, un-welcoming, and un-sanitary. I ordered a small ice cream with sprinkles and a small order of fries. The ice cream tasted freezer burnt and the fries were overly greasy. I will not be coming back to this facility. This place has a very old look and needs a renovation.

Have had food from here a couple of times and the food is just okay. Nothing to write home about. I also tried their chocolate dip cone and it doesn't hold a candle to DQ's version. Wish I could say otherwise since I like to try and support independently owned small businesses.

If our experience at this place is typical...I could not recommend this place. Granted, we got there 30 minutes before closing, but I think that had little to do with the issues we had. The young lady that took our order was not very congenial, despite my wife and I being very cordial to her. We both ordered pizza burger combos. The food came out pretty timely, and the fries and onion rings were good. The pizza burgers, however, left much to be desired. We didn't really know what to expect since we'd never had a pizza burger before. One could reasonably expect perhaps pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni...??? Well...this burger lacked anything that resembled pizza ingredients. It was topped with something that resembled crappy chili sauce...a few pieces of onion...and mustard. Mustard??? What place does mustard have on a pizza??? And chili sauce? The burger patty itself was very reminiscent of the grade B "beef" patties we were served in the Navy. In other words...not very good. And how ironic that the same girl who was borderline rude to us...my wife overheard her complaining to another employee how she couldn't believe how rude some customers could be...? I don't know...maybe they had a bad night? But that doesn't excuse that poor excuse for a pizza burger. Considering their choice of toppings, I couldn't help but believe that perhaps they ran out of the actual pizza burger ingredients, and just threw what they had on it in hopes that we wouldn't know the difference....??? Needless to say...we won't be frequenting this establishment again.

Had a vanilla milkshake... tasted like someone took a tablespoon of imitation vanilla extract mixed with heavy cream and served it to me, seemingly no ice cream was added to the mixture. This milkshake would bring zero boys to the yard.

If you don't know...it use to be a tasty freeze and you can tell!! Some of the best service and the best food for fast food.... there is even a pond on the property you can feed the turtles there...took my son to feed them...the wife had more fun than he did lol
