After your visit the highest unincorporated town of Trade, you will be heading out of Tennessee into North Carolina, to pass by this dollar store. When you follow the road all the way to Boone you will not see any other Dollar General on your way. Even not any other convenient store or a supermarket. I mention this because I knew I wanted to have some goodies from a supermarket and that this was the last stop before I would head to Boone what is another hour and a half away. Therefore if you’re on the road, traveling or sight seeing in the mountains, there are no other supermarkets or convenient stores all the way up till Boone. For the rest this is a Very nice and friendly Dollar General and the people/staff are very organized. All together a great Dollar General Location!

The store was crowded with merchandise. Why do all DG stores look this way? There were carts and trolleys with merchandise that was waiting to go out on already cluttered and overstocked shelves. I'd shop here more if it was more appealing to me.

This is the best dollar general around! They have good snacks & essential items grocery wise as well as bathroom supplies or medicines. Very good prices, best convenience stop going all the way up the mountain until you hit big lots in Boone!

Dollar General carry these things that you may forgot the milk the bread you need to pick up cookies for your kids school activity. They are not a Dollar General Superstore but they do have some refrigerated items. It's a good store. Friendly people.

Great place for your ever day supplies and needs. The store is keep very neat and clean. Super nice employees and managers. One year later, still the cleanest and well maintained dollar general I know of.

This is the Deep Gap store...Madison the manager has a beautiful..clean and very organized store. You could have a picnic lunch off of the floors even though it had been a little busy. DG needs to send some of their management of other stores to retrain at the Deep Gap store.

Love this store my favorite is in Bakersville NC and here in Watauga Boone nc the prices and selection and deals are amazing and the staff at my 2 favorite stores are all amazing people especially in Bakersville shout out to y'all in Bakersville NC I miss seeing y'all almost everyday ...love Diane West's daughter Cindy 💙😇👼💙

Not the biggest but selection is decent. Wifi is slow but still works (important for the remote location with lacking cell service). Never a very long line and employees are helpful, though maybe understaffed.

Cashier was not wearing a mask, and there was no effort to make sure that any customers were either. I understand that there's only so much you can do about customers but the fact that an employee was so casually disregarding the law during a public health crisis is incredibly disappointing.

This place should be called MILLION DOLLAR General, because they've got AMAZING deals. My friend Ryan could decorate his hole mansion with all this stuff. Great stuff. 10 stars!
