We have used this car and passenger ferry service on our trips to Cape Lookout. They are a great service that is always accommodating with their schedule, fairly priced, online, and has a great store and facilities on the mainland. They now even have UTV’s to rent by the day to take over to drive around on the beaches. What a great day trip that would be if you didn’t have your phone em 4x4. We will definitely use them again!

Staff was extremely friendly and nice to talk to. Ferry's are very clean and in great shape. I know nothing about boats but the captain and crew did a great job. Definitely an awesome experience taking the truck out on the beach and camping.

The store has everything you need for the island, and is always kept very clean. The process for making a reservation was hassle free, and the staff inside the store were very friendly upon arrival. The views from the ferry were breathtaking, and the ride was smooth. The staff on the boat answered some questions I had, and were very knowledgeable about the island. I can not recommend this place enough and will definitely be using this ferry next time I go!

We had a great experience with this ferry service even through some not so great weather. We had storms on the way into Cape Lookout and storms on our way out 2 days later. We decided to bump our departure up one day on account of the storms and the ferry service did everything they could to get our Jeep, trailer and Tacoma off that island. The captain was very personable and the store has just about everything you could need from ammo, food, canned goods, and fishing supplies. We highly recommend this ferry service.

First trip to Cape Lookout cabins and already planning another trip back! After traversing the whole of the OBX, I can say I have never encountered a more friendly group of people. From check in, to the ferry ride itself. The Kubota rental was great, and better on fuel than you'd expect. A definite must have if you don't have a 4wd vehicle. Cannot recommend this establishment enough!

10 Star Review! Above and beyond is an understatement when it comes to Cape Lookout Ferry Service company. We Planned a spontaneous trip and they were the only Ferry service that could ferry us over (27 foot truck) on such a late notice. From the start of our trip to the very end of our trip each and every member of this team went above and beyond for us. The ladies in the office were the sweetest. The guys running the ferry were so nice and super helpful. We had some truck issues and required a pull back to the ferry. Shane was kind enough to drive out a couple miles down the beach to pull us back to the ferry. Because of all these super kind people that work at Cape Lookout Ferry Service, we will definitely be back! If you’re looking for a great ferry experience, I highly recommend using Cape Lookout Ferry. You will not be disappointed. Great cabin with beautiful scenery. The cabin is rustic so don't expect hotel quality; you must bring everything you need. The interior cabin is constructed of stained ply board and includes bunk beds with firm mattress covered in plastic; you'll need to bring sheets or a sleeping bag and pillow. There isn't a refrigerator but you can buy ice on the island for your cooler. If, you want electricity you'll need to bring a generator. The cabin has running water, a bathroom, hot shower, gas stove, and a screened porch. Oh, and there is cell service on the island! It's definately worth the trip!

This is the vehicle ferry to Core Banks. Make your reservation as far in advance as possible, or you may not have the space you need. The store also sells supplies.

Forget something? Need a fishing pole, tackle, apparel, camping gear, snacks, a ferry ride to the island, or a UTV? This place is awesome and has everything you need to make your trip a great one. Prices are extremely competitive and are in most cases equal to, or cheaper than, most of your big retail stores. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Make sure to grab your bait and top off with ice before heading over on the ferry. When you return, they have several air stations to inflate your tires.Highly recommend just stopping in and checking the place out before heading over on the ferry.

Great place to relax. Need to bring a generator for the cabins. Does have a gas cooktop and oven and hot water. They have gas and diesel and ice you can buy as needed. Any food would need to be brought over or caught on a fishing line. Ferry runs daily weather permitting.

Hands down the best ferry service to Cape Lookout. I've been using them for years and thought it's time to share why they are the best ferry to use. The store is clean and well stocked for all your fishing and camping needs. First trip over with them 5 years ago we forgot out receiver bar for the rod rack at home. Mack made one and sent it on the next ferry. Now that's customer service with a smile. This weekend my truck blew a fuel line. Mack got me on the next ferry and called his mechanic. Johnathan was waiting on us to get back to mainland. He had me fixed up in no time. Mack was able to get me on the next ferry back to paradise. That's just two reasons why Cape Lookout Cabins and Camp are hands down the best ferry service to the island. CALO and particularly Mack Best, were a godsend this weekend. My husband has been going to Davis Island for 5 years and always goes with Mack’s ferry service. I went over on the ferry for the first time this week and they were so helpful. Saturday morning my husband woke up feeling unwell, possibly heart related. He called and Mack was able to get him off earlier than planned. That alone was wonderful, but the way that Mack maneuvered everyone on the ferry was remarkable. All we had to do was drive on and Mack would not let my husband lift a finger. They took and physically lifted our camper and moved it so they could fit everyone on. It brought me to tears because I saw people helping people in need and you rarely see that. We will always use Mack’s service from now on. I highly highly recommend Cape Lookout Cabins and Camps!!!

Cape Lookout Cabins and Camps is your best way to Cape Lookout National Seashore. The ferry is a drive on and drive off ferry which is really nice. The store staff and captains are so polite. The restrooms inside and outside were very clean. The store has everything you’ll need if you forget something.

Store and restrooms were clean. The store has a lot of items and they offer Side by side rentals if you don’t have a 4wd drive vehicle. The ferry ride was about 35 minutes long. The staff was kind and courteous to everyone in our group. We will come back soon

Awesome primitve cabins! Amazing undeveloped beach. No electricity but running water, flush toilets, hot showers, bunk beds, and folding tables and chairs. Air conditioning provided by mother nature.

Great way to spend time as a family. No power, No AC, No fridge, my son and I had a blast for 3 days of night fishing, collecting seashells, and swimming in the ocean. We also drove from one end of the island to the other end.
