Absolutely top notch!!! From the greeting by the attendant to the tour itself. Wow. They’ve done an amazing job with this one.I spent about an hour reading through the timelines marked out in the information, and I watched the film. Really good. It’s only about 10 minutes. Then I walked the grounds. Gorgeous. Informative. Serene.Well done NPS! I learned as much about the Carolina long leaf and loblolly pine trees as I did about the battle! You really don’t get a much better historical experience than this. 💝Restrooms: Fun music. Very clean.

• We visited here on a Wednesday morning in late December 2023.• We were waiting in the parking lot for the visitor center to open and were the only people there the entire hour or so we were there.• The bathrooms were outside adjacent to the parking lot and visitor center in a structure on it’s own. Everyone independently in our group said to go to the bathroom to listen to the music. Each person heard different things. One had bag pipes, one said banjo and other said singing. Very thematic bathroom music.• The kids did the junior ranger all from inside the visitor center. We started by watching the short film in the back of the visitor center. There is also several bonus patches/pins you can earn here for doing the junior rangers. Make sure to ask. The Ranger we worked with was super nice and also the woman working the front desk/NPS store was super helpful and talkative and helping the kids answer the junior ranger questions. Please see pics for different patches.• There are 2 locations for the Parks Passport Cancellation Stamps. One set is inside the atrium of the visitor center and the other is at the trailhead right outside the visitor center/parking lot.• We would probably visit again if in the area just to do the trails. It was actively raining and hard at that otherwise we would done the trail right outside the visitor center.Restrooms: Restrooms are located outside adjacent to parking lot in separate building. The music that plays in there was amazing. Each one of our family used the bathroom at a different time and heard completely different music genres. Someone heard bag pipes someone heard banjos. Worth a visit honestly.

This visit was very enlightening. The battle that took place here in February 1776, was the first real battle of the American Revolution. It is said that Lexington and Concord was the "shot heard 'round the world" but they were actually skirmishes. The Visitor Center was full of information and the trail around the battlefield were laden with facts. Definitely a must see!

Another treasure preserved by the National Park. Well preserved works and interpretive makers this park if worth the visit. A small museum puts the battle and region into its historical context and the friendly staff are always available. This is one of those battlefields where visiting helps understand how the terrine played such a significant role in the one sided battle.

Went to the battlefield for the re-enactment of the battle at Moores creek. A great history lesson in our own backyard. Beautiful park and facilities.

A must stop. Had a great time. Very educational with workers that really know the history of the battle. Between the 10 min movie in a small theater. And the interactive displays to take it to the next level. You really couldn't ask for anything more.

Great National Park! We discovered this gem nearby our new home and just had to go. I love to learn about our nations birth and this did not disappoint. The visitor center has lots of information along with a very informative park ranger. The trails are amazing (even for those disabled like me) and have informative plaques along the way. You literally feel as if you have stepped back in time. Beautiful area and well kept. A must see for anyone interested in the Revolutionary War or even those Outlander fans or if you have Scottish heritage.

We enjoyed the early morning walk here. We used my electrical cart without any problem. This was a valuable opportunity to see history for yourself. I loved the walke talke machines by the benches that recounted oral history by the press of a button. Coming back again!Restrooms: YesDog-friendliness: Yes on leash

The rangers were friendly and informative, the paths were nice and well maintained, the visitor's center provided excellent information in an engaging manner. While this park is off the beaten path, it is well worth a stop if you are interested in Revolutionary War History, NC history, ecological history, or just need a good bathroom stop and stretch of the legs while you are passing through.

Staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The movie really helped to understand what the battle was all about. The rubberized path made it easy to walk to all the memorials and bridge. If you need to stamp your National Park passport book, the stamp is out front. You don't have to wait for the store to open.

My partner and I stopped with our dog on our drive home to GA and were pleasantly surprised by this lovely little National Park Site. I have been to many NPS sites and have a passport for the cancellation stamps, so that was the main reason we stopped but we were so glad we did. The employee I interacted with in the visitor center was so friendly and knowledgeable. The trails were free, well maintained, pet-friendly, and informative about the local history. They were the perfect length for a short break from our 7 hour drive. You could tell that this area is highly valued and an important part of American history by the quality of the facilities. Some unique highlights that I wish other NPS sites would employ were a cancellation stamps box that was accessible even when the visitor center was closed and solar-powered information stations around the park that played short audio clips about the area. 100% worth a stop!Restrooms: Men's and women's restrooms.Dog-friendliness: Pet friendly including bags for cleaning up after your dog while walking the trails.

Nice little battlefield with a short movie about the battle and some interesting exhibits. There are two short trails 1 mile and .3 miles that take you through the battle field both are mostly paved or packed gravel/sand. The staff inside the visitors center is friendly. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about North Carolina history or the revolutionary war. There are restrooms located in a building next to the visitor center which were clean and well maintained. There is also a large outdoor picnic area with grills and tables.

Wow! This is the nicest and well maintained historic park that I have been to. You will see everything by just staying on the trail. No need to wander around looking for markers, monuments, etc... you won't miss anything, just stay on the trail. My favorite part is the bridge over the swamp. The restrooms are in the parking lot. There are benches along the trail and look for the boxes with recording on special topics at the stop. The picnic tables are in the parking lot, and there is a picnic area that looked like a village with possible demonstration on special events?

Very well maintained park for people of all ages. The tail, the main one, is the rubberized setup so your legs don't wear out from the walk. There is a water fountain on the trail, but I do recommend taking a bottle of water to stay hydrated. There is loads of signs that give the whole story of what happened and it is spaced beautifully. Park rangers are very welcoming and not overbearing.

It's been seven years since I have been here. And the hot August walk was not very bad. Most of the two trails I walked on was the easy on your feet trails. The bridges over the dark water Moores Creek was a slow movement through the swamp waterway. The visitor center was open with mask required. At seventy one I did the junior ranger program to earn a badge and learn about the park.

Amazing site.Hours 9-5 Sun- Sat.The grounds where a Revolutionary Battle was fought is beautiful with manicured grounds, walking trails and monuments. Yhe first monument to catch my eye, when entering the visitor center parking is dedicated to a woman, Mary Slocumb. We arrived later than planned and were only able to walk part of the trail after stopping in the museum in the visitor center.Snowball was able to "earn" his Bark Ranger tag, always a highlight for, (me), him!

Great place to learn about our history especially if you come from a Scottish bloodline. This is a place where a battle fought in a the American Revolution. Our family loved being there because we come from that Scottish bloodline.

Who knew? The history surrounding the Moores Creek battle is something that wasn't taught in school. The park staff is knowledgeable and made the history exciting. Fascinating. The park itself is beautifully maintained, easy walking trails, hard to believe a battle was fought in thus serene area.Restrooms: Very well maintainedDog-friendliness: There are several things a pet owner with child can do that teaches hiw to be a responsible pet owner, and if completed the animal becomes a P.A.W. Ranger.

Having read the book series "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon, i was familiar with this area and battle where Jamie Fraser and his Scotsman were quickly wiped out by the Patriot forces. So cool to actually be here and hike the very roads and trails.

What a wonderful park for everyone. 20 minutes north of Wilmington, easy drive. Excellent exhibit giving the history of this site, I was unaware of the magnitude of this battle. Americans fighting Americans, over 2600 men in this fight. The last Scottish Highlander broadsword attack in history. This blew me away. Walk in their footsteps. Great paved walk around the park, just go.

I loved the foliage....the greenery with the red, yellow and orange leaves. The black pond....the trees and the squirrels and the birds. I love being in nature. It was beautiful and so peaceful. It was very well kept with a sidecar of education!

Was not planning on stopping here but saw the sign on the road, had time, so I did stop. Nice NPS unit, small museum that explains the battle, including a well produced ten minute video. Easy less than a mile walk around the battlefield with a couple of nice monuments and a good feel for the land.
