The food is so good. Our waitress took really good care of our needs. The fried chicken and country ham just melt in your mouth. They give more food than I could eat. The homemade jam and biscuits are so good. This place is so great. We only had to wait about 30 minutes. While we waited we walked around to the little shops. We even walked around back to see the little spring and someone was fishing. They have cabins you can rent.

Some of the best food on the planet!! You will love it! Order from the Menu or get family style with Country Ham and Fried chicken with a ton of sides. The outdoor atmosphere is great with Live Music on the weekend, shops are open, great pond for pictures in the rear....and of course....the Shatley Springs Water fountain...of youth? Lots of things to do and soak up here. Great place to go with friends....make sure you call ahead a day or two in advance to get a reservation, otherwise it is hard to get in as a walk up.

I visited this restaurant once a year back in the late 1990's, and loved the southern cooking served family style! I was delighted to finally eat here once again recently and still enjoyed the great food!Come with a lot of patience!! There was always a wait back then, and it's clear their excellent food is still worth waiting for given there was a 30-45 min wait when I arrived around 5p on Sat evening. From arrival to departure, I think I was there about 2.5 h. There are rocking chairs and benches to sit on while waiting. There's also a gift shop and a room full of old antiques to check out. When it's busy, the servers might need some time to get around to your table once you're seated, but the food is well worth the wait!Remember to bring cash or check! They don't accept credit cards. If you do forget, there's an ATM near the registers where you pay.Given the COVID situation, they're currently seating tables spaced apart. All staff are wearing masks.I'm not sure what their menu was like last year, but when I was there recently, the meal was $17.99 for one person to enjoy all you can eat choice of 2 meat options (selection seems to vary day to day), all the sides available that day (selection may vary a little?), a drink and a dessert. Their website wasn't quite updated at the time.I don't eat meat, and they were willing to adjust down the price since I wouldn't be having any meat. I really appreciate this accommodation! Most of the sides are vegetarian friendly, so I still enjoyed a full meal! The staff was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions.I do NOT recommend this place for vegans, sadly, as I don't think they'll make anything to order. But if you're vegan and going here, I would call to verify this, as well as what will be vegan friendly. I'm pretty sure all side options have butter or some other kind of dairy in it though.

We came here with a biker group of close to 40 people. We were set in the sunroom and waited on promptly. The food was delicious and the service was great as well. It was a very pleasant trip. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for home cooked breakfast with the family.

The website and answering machine both said it would be open Friday April 12th 2024. Unfortunately my wife and I drove 2 1/2 hours to an empty restaurant. We had to leave home at 6:15 am to make it for breakfast. Very disappointed!

We had reservations and almost walked straight in. You can order menu or family style. The later is what we did, excellent home cooking's, very friendly staff. We sat around outside after lunch for most of the afternoon. If you want coffee afterwards, go up to Sparkey's. Ilked his french press...

Home style cooking. All you can eat portions. Just ask for more. Breakfast and lunch available. Lots of large groups come through so quite a wait is common. Come knowing that's a possibility and you'll find the very good food, especially the fried chicken and homemade buttery biscuits, more than make up for the time. Lots of motorcycle riders eat here before or after enjoying the wonderful curvy roads in the area.

We always enjoy our annual visit to Shatley Springs. The food is good and the grounds are a beautiful color this time of year. But the place has became a little outdated🤔 The bathrooms stalls had not lids on the toilets and the toilet paper was sitting on the cement floor and was wet🤔

Very rustic and family friendly atmosphere. Great place to get together with bigger families. Service was good with management checking in on how things were. I personally don't like eating "home style" when out and some of the food was not to my liking. Go try them yourself, make your own opinion about them!

Great food. There will be a wait unless you make a reservation. Lots of front porch rocking chairs while waiting. Beautiful pond and cabins. Live music on occasion. Friendly staff. Waitress seemed stressed and over worked (in a hurry) and wasn't around much....took awhile to get our food and tea refilled in pitcher.Good prices for what you get. $18 bucks for the all you can eat Adult is alittle pricey...but again...good food.

Make sure you double check how much they are charging you for. There was a discrepancy with the cashier. Add it up on your own don't trust the cashier. Otherwise a fun family restaurant. The waitress was polite and the food was ok. The spring out back was fun and the water tastes great!

The food was absolutely amazing and so was our view. The price is very fair for all the food you get. The biscuits were probably the best biscuits ive ever had. We opted for breakfast but cannot wait to go back and try lunch!

History is in reach with this amazing facility. Go back in time where things are simpler, friendlier, tastier, and (believe it or not) healthier. Get ready to eat mounds of breakfast items if you're in the mood, or step around back and collect a few gallons of pure mountain spring water. The throwback countryside motif is a win, from worn in rocking chairs on the front porch to live mountain music. Anyone interested in an old fashioned family environment is sure to appreciate the efforts of those who keep the great place going. Anytime you're within an hour of Shatley Springs, do yourself a favor and stop in. Don't forget your jugs for the fresh free water!

Went there for a Birthday dinner my daughter had planned for me a year ago and even tho we had a reservation , we were treated as if we didn't have one or even worse , not allowed there . We had reservations and people were being taken in and seated without one before us . When we actually got inside , they just sit us down didn't ask us about drinks or anything and was taking care of other people that were eating already. Then when asked about drinks it took almost an hr ti get them . When we got them we figured they ask us about food ... they didn't. When they finally came back and asked they told us they were out of certain foods, mainly the entree of meats ... but after we were told that , a whole family that had already eaten was brought a whole dish of chicken . That was enough for us to see to make is realize we were not welcome there . Yes my family is Black , but food is for everybody, especially if it's affordable . All in all I will say the place is / was racist and I'm sure most of the employees were too . To the one waitress that did show us love , thank you .. to the others ... get a grip on life and I hope the place is shut down it deserves to be , especially if it's a racist establishment .

This place is the prefect example of "down home cooking". Breakfast is phenomenal and they serve huge groups of people just they way you would be served at a family event. The all you can eat can get price at almost 19 dollars a person. My wife and I ordered lunch plates instead for 8.50 each. So for 18 dollars we left more than full.

Awesome traditional country style food served family style! I've been coming here since I was a kid and today I brought my 2 boys and wife up to eat. There is also a place to drink the spring water around the side of the building. It is said to have medicinal qualities.

3rd visit, staff very friendly not sure what others experienced?? We have always been pleased with service and food. Bathroom is just old. It's an older style building so what do you expect. We will be back soon. They do need too cook country ham a bit longer, most like ham with brown doneness..

We took a family group of 39 people to Shatley Springs on 11/4. We had excellent service and the food was great. I was impressed because they were not skimpy when they brought out the first plates of food. They were enough to feed our table and we didn't have to ask for more. We have many fond memories at Shatley Springs and will continue to visit there often. My daughter even got engaged under the tree in the parking lot. Love this place.
