Found this place randomly while waiting on check in. Absolutely wonderful food. Ribs so tender and juicy....falling off the bone! The crab cake dinner was good. I LOVED the greens! The chicken was great...nice crunch....Mild sauce was amazing and ranch and tarter tasted homemade! The only thing I would say is the Mac n cheese tasted like box. But all in all great food. I will return!

My family was in town for a short stay in Corolla and were happy to find an open bbq restaurant that had online ordering. Not only was the food delicious (I should have ordered more cornbread, and mashed potatoes and gravy) but the order was accurate and on time. The house made bbq sauce was awesome as was the pork bbq, macaroni and cheese and green beans. Nick handed the food over to us and he was so nice and helpful. We will be back next trip!

7/24/22 Visited the restaurant today after our Corolla Wild Horse Tour. We arrived at 8:30 p.m. and the kitchen staff cook informed us that they were closed. We were greeted by a young lady named Destiny who told us that we could get a takeout order.We tried their beef brisket & ribs with sides of fried okra, coleslaw and potato salad we asked for an order of baked beans which were left out and iced tea.The meat was good as was the potato salad and okra the slaw was okay. The ribs & brisket had really good seasoning and the BBQ sauce was good but a very small amount. We may try the Nags Head location next time to see if they have better preparation.

Absolutely disgusting food! Understaffed and my bbq chicken sandwich was dry hard chunks of what tasted like dog food. I had 2 others in my party taste it and they agreed it tasted like in Sat and burned in a crock pot for 2 days. They upcharge for a kfc consistency Mac and cheese. Brisket Sandwhich wasn’t much better ! It was so fatty. Canned green beans. Waitress said she was dropping off drinks and would return promptly for check. Didn’t happen. I had to give our check and money to the people sitting behind the counter . Two stars given only because my daughter liked her $11 kids meal.

We were looking for a local place to enjoy and tried this one! The price points were good compared to the area. The cornbread was ok and warm but took too long to come out since it was just sliced from a bigger pan. The burgers were not edible due to being burnt. One had a bonus of a piece of string on it. The fried chicken was hot but over done on all 4 thighs. The bbq sauce had a great flavor making up for the fact the fries were cold. The mac n cheese would have been good if hot! They replaced the burgers with chicken but offered no discount at all for the string issue or time it took to get out to us. They even issued a 3% convenience fee. There was no sign offering to pay cash without this fee.

I'm always leery of stripmall restaurants! Especially in touristy areas! From the outside this looks no different than the souvenir shop a few doors down.When I walked in you immediately are met with the strong smell of smoked meats! We sat down and ordered, food was out within 10mins. We had a basket of cornbread for starters, followed by 3 different combo plates. I had the Pulled Pork + Fried Chicken with sides of Fried Okra, and Classic Slaw! The other two people I went with had a half rack of ribs, and a pulled chicken dish. Everyone was extremely happy with their choices.One of the best parts of BBQ is the sauce! Being N. Carolina BBQ they have a very nice house sauce that had a strong vinegar and pepper taste. It complimented their meats very nicely. My favorite though was their bottle of vinegar, with red chili flakes. It was so flavorful and delicious.Being in a tourist destination, the prices were unbelievable. My meal the Pulled pork + Fried Chicken Combo was only around $15. it was one of the lowest priced meals I've had in the Corolla area, however was the most filling and flavorful!I will be visiting again and again during my next vacations to the area!Great work!Sincerely,Phil "from Foodnetwork" Tomasso!

Decent place. Tried the pulled pork, brisket, ribs, catfish, mac & cheese and a few sides. The brisket and pork were both tender and juicy but for my taste a tad unreasoned but with sauces were good and would order both again. The ribs were meaty and had smoky undertones and were the highlight for me. The catfish was solid. It was moist and flakey and lightly fried to perfection. The only downside for me was the tartar sauce, it was not my favorite but I'm not sure I can put my finger on why. The mac & cheese was a bit mushy and just average on the flavor scale. The green beans and the hush puppies were right on. Price wise they are a bit more reasonable than the other places in the area. We will be back!

The food was really good here. Half rack ribs, potato salad, and Mac n cheese they through in two hushpuppies as well. We picked up the food since we ordered online, and the lady argued that we didn't, which we had the confirmation that we did. They put together our whole order within 10 min. Even though they were busy so that was appreciated. Hence, the lower stars on the service, I just don't feel you should have been argumentative with the customer.

Was in the mood for fried chicken & my 1st location I looked for was closed ... Well thank you Chicken Gods! Very great staff & my order was ready before I could even sit down. Everything was fried perfect & the Hushpuppies stole the show with the Honey Butter spread. The chicken was very well seasoned and cooked to a nice crisp. The baked beans & fries are a great side as well. This will be my New favorite while visiting the OBX 🔥🍗😊

I'm from NC, so I've eaten lots of BBQ and ribs in my day. This ranks right up there at the top of the list. The BBQ tasted like bacon and melted in my mouth, the ribs were so tender that the bones pulled right out (like its supposed to) and everything had that great smoke ring and flavor. Definitely recommend trying it out if you likes ya meats.

We called a several times this week and only once did anyone answer. They told us their hours "depended on how much business we have" but that if I called around 5 they could still take my order, but of course we called a few times between 4:30 and 5 and no one answered. It's January and off season, so I get it, but they should list limited hours. We ended up buying dinner 2 nights at other restaurants, so they lost our business and probably others.

I came, I saw, it enjoyed! This place is awesome. The family and I stopped by this little gem while on vacation. This place is reasonable with their prices and the staff is great. The rack of ribs fell off the bone and the sauce complemented the meat well. If you are near Duck and Corolla you have got to stop by and get a plate!

Grabbed lunch here recently, and the food was good. Had the bbq pulled pork, as well as their fried chicken, both were good. Also tried their cole slaw, as well as their collards. Cole slaw tasted good, but collards were not flavorful. Wait person brought hot sauce out because they do not season their collards. Service was good, as well. Glad we were able to try this place after reading many good reviews.

We were not impressed on a Friday night eating here. Food was ok, bit NOT great or of any stand out. William was nice. Service, including drink refills and time for food to come out was slooow and they were not real busy. Good tasted ok, I had the "huge brisket sandwich" with baked beans. Baked beans were good. Huge was NOT huge. I LOVE brisket but not from here, little flavor. If you must or for conveinience come here...otherwise check out other options. I may try it again with hesitation as I was at another sooeys years ago and I believe it was good.

The food is extremely tender and the bbq sauce is delicious. My kids enjoy the pulled BBQ chicken and my husband loved the ribs. The mashed potatoes and gravy was OK but after having the Country Coop Chicken gravy across the street nothing else can compete. The cornbread was great and my kids loved the hush puppies.

Service was fast and friendly, even though it seemed like there was only one server working when we went. The ribs were tender and juicy. Actually lost some meat because it slid right off the bone. Fried chicken was crispy and delicious. Also very much enjoyed the fried okra. I liked this location better that the one that I had been to before in Kitty Hawk.

Very good meal and portion sizes are great! Very close to where we were staying and wasn't very busy when we went. The place is small which means limited seating, but overall it was a great experience!

We used to love Sooey's when they had a location in Duck. We've had 2 consecutive experiences that have brought us to the conclusion that we won't order here again. Chicken is inedible; cornbread slices are tiny squares/rectangles; mashed potatoes were gross. Chicken BBQ and pork BBQ were good- but so many other places do the same. If you order from here, skip the 3 Little Pigs and just do BBQ.

Ordered brisket and ribs. Brisket more fat then meat and tough not tasty. Definitely not bbq! Ribs awful dry and unbeatable. Beans were good. Don’t waste your money, should just made a burger at home. So much for supporting local Restaurants. This one should definitely close!

Great service! Ginger was an awesome waitress! Pretty good bbq... not amazing but really good. We got pork... chicken... ribs... all were good! For OBX bbq options, this might be the best out this way. Prices are on par for bbq...

Worst barbecue ever. The brisket was so tough I had to cut it with a knife and it was difficult to chew and I finally threw it out. I've never had brisket that didn't fall apart. The French fries were frozen crinkle cut fries you could get at the grocery store and tasted like it. We were feeding 14 adults and purchased from the bulk menu. Don't believe what the menu says. Their quart container does not feed six to eight people. The wings were naked wings with mild or hot sauce on the side. Very dissatisfying when they're supposed to be hot wings and they're not cooked like hot wings with the sauce on it. The only thing that was good was the hush puppies. They were delicious. We spent $250 and got a meal worth about $125. Only visiting Corolla but if I come back I will not be coming back to Sports BBQ.
