Great store, helpful associates, stocked and well organized store with good variety and selection. Hours are limited. For a resort town with NO 24 hours stores in the "off season," it really is unfortunate, particularly considering the shift to self check out. Expanding hours 6am to midnight would be a huge improvement.

I’m not from the area, and we came for a company beach trip. One of our coworkers is leaving us shortly, so we went to get flowers for her. We could not find a single vase anywhere on the island! Thankfully we found Tina and Derrick at this food lion, and they searched everywhere for us. After no luck, Derrick and Tina GAVE us an extra black flower holder that the receive their flowers in from the back. This was the best service I’ve ever had at a grocery store. Absolutely amazing! As a former food lion employee, I’m amazed at how wonderful their service was, even with it being super busy!

When in the OBX there are really only 2 places to shop for groceries. This place is hopping but the staff is up to the task. They are inundated when everyone arrives but they have all hands on deck for the rush. The employees are helpful and cooperative. The selection of food is good and you can get in and out efficiently despite the crowds.

I asked about the "mvp discount" and the girl at the self checkout registers tells me I need to go on the kiosk and fill out a bunch of stuff. The guy on the next self checkout register over asks her for the code and she puts it in but not for me. It's extremely rude. I understand that rules are there. But for her to do that in front of me is disgusting. I don't live around here so I'm not going to have a card on me but neither did the other customer who she put in the discount code for. I won't be back for the remainder of my stay.

Customer service is seriously lacking. We ran in and couldn't find what we needed. We went to customer service desk. The girl working 9:30 pm on 8/8/23 would not look up and acknowledge my husband and I. I had to say excuse me 3 time and her response was what do you need. Seriously. I asked if they had a specific item and she said I dont know. She was to busy filling out a lottery ticket. She does not belong working in customer service. Shame on her and the manager that hired her. If I could give a big fat 0 I would! I havenever seen a customer service representative treat a customer the way she did.

i like this food lion. however, there was a suspect man in the parking lot who yelled at us for stepping on pavement… like fine i guess we all make mistakes. also some guy wouldn’t stop saying roll tide to me because i was wearing an auburn shirt. overall enjoyed my experience.

They have a wide selection and good sales & deals. It's more expensive than Walmart for the most part but the convenience makes up for the price - it's a 10-15 minute drive from our beach rental, while the drive to Walmart is over an hour way.

This is a pretty small food lion in comparison to your typical store but they had a good selection of everything except meat and frozen foods. The prices were fairly competitive being they are located in a resort town. The staff was friendly, cheerful and believe it or not plentiful. The store was virtually deserted except for two other customers. I was able to get in get what I needed and get out in a hurry!

The parking is plentiful, bathrooms are clean and smell really fresh, and they have everything you need while on vacation, especially for a smaller grocery store. Prices on fresh veggies has been very affordable,year after year. Cons: eggs in NC in general seem pretty high. We paid about $4.00 for a dozen and they have some that are $8 a doz. I also brought some of my own from Pennsylvania for #$1.89. that is just a heads up if you are from out of state, eat eggs, and are frugal. Some of the younger staff are snoody, while everyone else was friendly. If you are driving in from out of town during the summer, go when they first open. They get busy. And I mean busy.

I was at food lion the Saturday before memorial Day. The supermarket was very busy, VERY BUSY AND CROWDED. This was the type of crowd that normally would have me driving to a competitor. But Food Lion had a young lady (an employee) standing on the customer side of the cashier's line. Almost like a concierge. I must say Food Lion - that position is a brilliant idea! She did an excellent job in managing the lines of customers waiting to be attended to. I don't think Food Lion truly understands the value of having the right person in that position and this young lady was the right employee in the right position. This particular young lady was very professional, effective and customer oriented. She made what could have been frustrating afternoon into a very pleasant trip to the supermarket. I actually returned and spend more in my second trip than I did on my first trip just because of the way the young lady managed. The lines.

While the selection was quite large the fact that the store is open 24 hours is extremely helpful. They do have a large selection but the stock was quite low. A lot of product tags were there but nothing on the shelf. We were able to get most of what we needed but had to head to Harris teeter soon after to finish our shopping list.

Experience could have been better... Some of the employees kept staring at me while I was shopping with my family. As I was trying to check out, they all seemed to gather and talk near me. When I needed to exit the cashier and store, they stood in the way and wouldn't move. This made it very awkward. Some of the employees were around the store stocking at the time as well and they were very polite. The grocery store itself was nice however they had a display of fruits and veggies near the front of the store with no bags... Meaning my family and I had to walk to the end of the store just to grab bags for the produce. This was very inconvenient as my grandfather has to ask where the bags where because they weren't in a convenient place.

Man was this place busy! It was a Sunday and lots of people were coming into town so i feel like it was a normal Sunday. Prices on the island were a little pricey but that's expected. All in all not a bad store.

Stayed in Corolla for all of spring and most of summer. A handful of the staff were consistently rude. From a few girls at registers to a few girls that would help with the self checkout. No hello’s or acknowledgment whatsoever numerous times. Sometimes just dirty looks and cold shoulders. Just basically acted like I was a huge inconvenience to them. I never did anything but shop there. I would say work on your customer service, but these individuals just need to work on their basic humanity.

Normally, I love going there! The employees are wonderful, however today I found one to be very rude. Several times while I waited in line I noticed her whisper not just to other employees, but a customer. Made me wonder if she was ever taught manners! I kept the review with 5 stars, because I’ve been going for years and have never had a problem.
