WOW this is a must-stop for anyone passing through or staying for the week. Incredible sandwiches for a great price! Great selection of beer on tap or canned. It takes a while for the sandwiches to be made but they’re made to order and constructed with quality (versus a quick sandwich shop that would just toss everything on).Relaxed when it comes to covid precautions, but my whole family is vax’d so it we were comfortable and didn’t mind.

Every year we stop by here to pick up all of my grilling needs including there Italian sausage links hamburgers as well as their steaks! Their breakfast sausage is excellent as well and don't even get me started on their Boar's Head made to order sandwiches they are out of this world! I will continue to shop here every year as we come down to the Outer Banks for a week and I'm in the store at least three or four times during that week to say hi to Johnny who is a great guy and runs a great business.

I can't get enough of the absolutely perfect subs, great beer selection on tap too. I ordered three times last week and stopped in for more to take home too! Next time I promise to branch out and try the gorgeous steaks. Thank you, I love your shop!

This was one of the best Italian sandwiches I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of them, being from NYC! The bread was nice and crusty, the meat was fresh and the banana peppers added some delicious crunch. I am just sad that I only discovered this place on our last day here. We will have to make it back here, just for the sandwiches! ☺️Also, the name of the sandwich “Italian Stallion” made me chuckle!

So I know not many read reviews. I also know many of the bad reviews are made by Karen's.We were in Monday to order London Broil. We ordered 7lb. Mike took our order. We will refer to Mike as Bonehead Mike moving forward. Bonehead Mike wrote everything down and my Mom and I said we will return on Wednesday to pick up the meat. Everything was perfect. Now we come to Wednesday. We are met with let's call him big eyes. I'll explain big eyes later. We tell big eyes we are here to pick up our order. He looks at us like we are mentally challenged. Now the only one mentally challenged is big eyes cause that's how he looked at us when he explained there was no London Broil left. Bonehead Mike behind the counter didn't have the balls to say much knowing he messed up. So they never cut ours meat. They never got our order ready. They messed up big time. Now you would think they would accommodate us by maybe discounting another meat. Ahh nope big eyes and bonehead Mike told us go to food lion.Now you guys should all know I don't like writing bad reviews. It ain't my style. That being said, big eyes and bonehead Mike both need slapped. They have great meat but customer service sucks big time. Sadly we won't be back. I know mistakes happen but accommodate when it does. Thanks big eyes and bonehead Mike you ruined our dinner for 10 tonight.Replying to your response: 1. You said about offering us another selection of meat. That is 100% false. We were offered nothing. Yes we could have got steaks but didn't want that.2. We ordered London Broil Monday. I don't know why you keep forgetting that. You forgot to get our order ready.That was 100% on you.The correct thing to do is offer us a new selection at the same price as the London Broil. That's customer service. ThanksI

Great local spot for quality cuts of meat, AND I can drink a pint while I shop. The best part is that they invested a few bucks in a decent TV and they provide access to Sports Channels!!! I'll definitely spend more time posted up with my friends now. A little surprised it took so long.

There's a lot going on here. If it's your first time inside, it's very difficult to know where to go for sandwiches or seafood or meat. I figured out where the sandwich line was and waited for about 10 minutes as the process slowly moved forward. Counterman was not very personable or efficient. Staff working in the back clearly enjoy their jobs as they raucously laughed a majority of the time that I was there. At long last. I was next in line when I witnessed the sandwich prep employee remove his ball cap and run his non gloved hands through his dreadlocks multiple times, replace his hat, and then immediately resume making sandwiches without washing. I immediately left and will never return. In fact, I'll discourage anyone and everyone from patronizing this place.

Best place! The Italian Stallion has become my favorite but all of the sandwiches are great. It’s a great one stop for lunch on the go and to grab something to cook for dinner. Great beers and growlers too. Love this place!!!

This place has everything you could want from a butcher shop. Delicious fresh sandwiches, draft beer, a very nice selection of rubs and sauces; many seeming to be from small business. This place is one of my families first and most frequent stops when down in OBX. The owner and staff are all very friendly and make the place an even more enjoyable atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough.

Ok....so keep in mind my husband and I were born and raised in Pa Dutch country and moved to another area where it was never difficult to find a high quality steak..or any good meat for that matter. We moved to the OBX a year ago, and although the seafood is fresh and amazing (something we couldn't get back in Pa), we have not been able to find a steak that has come close to what we are used to. We have found plenty in the OBX which are good, but not up to what we are accustomed to. (Ok,maybe we are steak snobs). Anyway, we were visiting Corolla and we decided to stop by the Butcher Block. The steaks look pretty good so we thought we would try the ribeyes. After buying two steaks, taking them home, prepping them and grilling them to medium rare, they tasted AMAZING! It took us a year, but we finally found a place where the steaks taste like home! The marbling, tenderness, and flavor actually can rival one of our favorite butchers back in Pa!

We went to the Butcher Block for steaks (which we know are excellent), but I was pleasantly surprised how delicious my sandwich was. I ordered the turkey cobbler and I highly recommend. The owners and very nice, efficient and accommodating. We will be back!

Really great sandwiches, family-feel service and the only place around that I know of that carries bone in rib-eye - which they cut to your preference. You haven’t seen marbling until you have seen one of their steaks.

The woman who waited on me was so kind. I think her name was Julie. What a gem! So helpful and friendly. I know nothing about meat but was picking up a large order for my family and she was extremely helpful. The rest of the staff seemed nice as well, they were very busy when i came in but i never felt rushed out the door or ignored. The shop is very clean and there’s many many beer options and even a wine based margarita YUM!!!

Butcher Block has helped us survive the pandemic as it's our weekly date spot for lunch. As seniors we're very careful during this time. We look forward to the delicious sandwiches and excellent craft beers which we enjoy at their outdoor tables. Johnny's friendliness and the outstanding meats and cheeses really brighten these long isolation weeks. Thank you! And, yes, the meats and fish make fantastic dinners, too.

Excellent fresh meats and seafood! I picked up some local oysters, shrimp and some of their fresh homemade sausage. Everything was great! Since it was lunch time we tried the fresh made boars head sandwiches and craft beers on tap as well. They were unbelievable! Best sandwiches we've had in the area and over 10 beers on tap, how can you go wrong. If your in the Corolla area you have to check out the butchers block, they are your one stop shop for any fresh meats to cook, fresh made sandwiches, craft beer on tap and seasonings to top it all off.

This place has a great feel as soon as you walk in. Finally I found a real butcher shop on the OBX! The made to order sandwiches are awesome. The fresh tuna fish salad was very good. The staff are very friendly and welcoming! We will be back 🙂

Best place for a Hazy 1718 Okracoke Brewing and a fantastic sandwich made with Boar's Head deli meats. It is a bonus that they stay open year round.
