The staff were very friendly helpful and courteous. The store was fully stocked so I was able to get everything that I need it. When I couldn't find a few items that I was looking for they went out their way to help me find it. I loved how the manager greeted me at the door it seemed very interested in my shopping needs. I highly recommend the store for all your summertime what-nots.

This is a nice big and clean Dollar General. They were well stocked on food and beverages but a little less when it came to dog and cat food. But they did have a great selection of dog toys, treats and rawhide. Cats were about the same, lots of trays and toys, no rawhide 😆Did purchase milk which was reasonably priced unlike almond and soy milk. Still it's a great place to stop when you just need a few items👍

This is the Dollar General store that I normally go to. I have been a customer at this location for about 15 years. Over that period of time it is either the best of the Dollar General stores or the worst. I have interacted with regional managers and their corporate offices. Why; it has to do with the lack of management skill at this location. What I mean is that the store over the period of time I have shopped there have been extremley bad; not keeping products in stock, keeping the aisles clear, willing to check on an item when you call, the amount of time it takes to check out. So there have been good managers and employees and there have been the worst of both.I go there for specific items and depending on the management I can get everything I need or can't get any. I was just there a few days ago. Went in for specific items and they were out of everything I wanted except for one item. The employee turn over in the last year has been ridiculous. The employees seem to be very poorly trained, have no idea about the products they carry or where they are located in the store.The reason I keep saying management is because the manager is the person responsible for keeping products in stock, the cleanliness of the store, the hiring of intelligent employees; simply put the manager determines whether this location is good or bad, the quality of the employees and the ordering and stocking the products. The only reason I continue to shop at this location is because it is so close to my home..

The shelves are never stocked, not enough employees to stock n help customers store u can't get around with a buggy it's so cluttered.. I no 3 employees can only do so much. Need pay more and maybe u could get more help I'll drive Salisbury just to not deal with this mess

It's a convenient place if you're close by like my family and I are. But you're in line for awhile, normally 1 cashier and "my experience " it's been a young, patient, customer friendly young lady named Nicole that is multi-tasking & greeting almost everyone that comes in that door! I've seen it and have helped out with elderly so she could stay at register! Even offered my services for stocking and stopping the many shop-lifters that frequent there! Stopped 3 within the last month. Just need more people like Nicole who you can tell appreciate her job, me as a customer my business, dedication. But you can find great deals if they haven't got stolen? 🤔🤔🤔

I have bought milk deli meat and cheese from here and every single one of these things have been bad multiple times. Cheese was moldy deli meat was sour and milk was clumped. Do not recommend buying anything from here except for dog stuff and shampoo

I have shopped this Dollar General weekly since moving to this area in 2008. There have been times when the organization, stocking and cleanliness of this store were not well taken care of. However, since Gail became the manager here in May 2018, I have noticed a steady improvement in all of the above areas. Today I was really impressed with how well organized the shelves were (especially during the Christmas Season) and the fact that there were no boxes of inventory sitting in the aisles waiting to be stocked. I understand that it is difficult to staff the store with enough employees to do this job well and even more difficult to find, keep and motivate employees to stay and to do their jobs well. It is obvious that Gail is doing a superior job at this. I truly hope that you will reward her financially and with career promotions so that she will stay with Dollar General. She is definitely an asset to your team and understands the importance of your store to our small community. Thank you so very much Gail for bringing dignity back to the Dollar General!!!Addition to Review:The cashier, David who is a high school student and has been with the Cooleemee Dollar General for several months now, is ALWAYS joyful and welcoming. He has the sweetest happy attitude and is a real asset to the Dollar General and to the community. This Dollar General is very important to the West Rowan County area and provides many of us with the convenience that rural areas have been missing for many many years. To be able to come into this store now that Gail has gotten it all clean and organized and to be greeted by a smiling face each and every time is a real blessing. Thank you so much to Gail and the Dollar General for staffing our little store with such awesome employees!

This store always has every area blocked by boxes that they don't put items on the shelf. Right now in December 2019, they are having to close early at 5pm. The worst month to do that. You better use your credit or debit card because they want small bills in cash. They go through help and need to hire all the time. The newest Dollar General on hwy 601 is the one to go to. Everything is stocked.

They tried to gyp me out of 80 cents.My total was $10.20 and I paid with a $20 bill. The girl gave me back $9 and said she didn't have any more change. I asked for the manager and a very rude manager came up and said that's just the way it was.It's a very poorly managed store that doesn't have any coin change on a Saturday afternoon.Rude and uncouth employees and management

Nice people but maybe not enough people! This place is always a mess. Sad because this is the only store around if you need somethings you can get it from here but you really don’t want to go in so you wait till you go to food lion or Walmart. Put more people in the store to work. We know that this is a high grossing store out of all the Other surrounding Dollar General stores. It has a lot of foot traffic. They need more hours to keep up. presentation is a big part of selling. You are showing us that you don’t care about us (only money) us being the people that live in this community and work in that store. You have to drive 20 to 35 minuets to the next store. Offer more jobs the least 2 more people 20 hours each just to stock the shelves get that stuff out of the Isles and last clean the floor everyday at closing so it is clean the next day. Wish I had the time to stand outside the day to boycott. We demand to be respected. The only way is to hit you in the pockets. Hell if on one goes then you can keep the store really clean. Customers beware you see the pictures of the bathroom your children will have to go! You don’t want to go in there. The people are nice but they never stay. I wonder why? No I have never worked here but I can throw a rock to this place if I throw with all my might. I have made lasting friendships with some of the people that work at DG they have moved on. This place is getting worse and worse. Last, my farther a business owner told me “You can tell how much the the place of business cares for you by the condition in which the business presents itself to you. Not going back. Good by DG and thank you I will save a lot of money, because I was going almost everyday.

They be on the B-S frfr. I don't shop there at all and I live 2 minutes away. The people that work there think everyone is in there to steal something. So they follow you around make you feel very uncomfortable. I Would recommend that you never shop there not the one in cooleemee.All other Dollar General's are Great.

Seemed like a nice store, the lady was helpful while I was looking for Dramamine to help my daughter with car sickness but they didn't have any. It only took a minute to check out, no long lines.

Has gotten better about having products that I am in search of on the shelf. All the employees are nice & friendly & helpful. Ann is the best manager they've had in a long time & she has done alot to turn the store business & reputation around. Go 😀👍

Store is always a mess. When new stock arrives, the stock carts are usually in the middle of the isles and you cannot move up and down the isles. I only stop there if i absolutely have to.

It's not the store that I have the 2 stars, it's the employees there. Every single time me an my gf go n there, an I mean EVERY single time, they will come to the same isle we're on an watch us like we're gonna steal something. I'm not a thief an neither is my gf. But when we go n there they literally come to each isle we go to an act like there doing something an we'll move to a different isle just to see an then boom there right over there with us again. I'm covered n tattoos from head to toe so I Kno there just profiling me an I'm sick of it. I will say something to them next time an ask to speak with the district manager because they make us feel uncomfortable an like we're doing something wrong when all we were doing was shopping for cleaning supplies

Got charged twice and had to make special trip to get refund. They thought my check didn't go through so I paid cash. Turns out the check did go through which means I paid two times for the same charge. Had to make a bunch of phone calls to figure it out.

The cashier lady treated us bad, we bought a lot of items and she didn’t give me bags and I asked for some and she refused to give us bags to put our items in, her behavior was unacceptable!!!! in a sort of racist mater, they should not treat a customer like that.

This store is out of alot of the things i go in there for or they have it but havent put it out on shelves yet! This happens way too much and also theres usually a long line and only one register open! I dread going in dollar general store in cooleemee north carolina!!

This is the fifth or sixth time I've came to this Dollar General in Cooleemee North Carolina in the past couple of weeks and everytime time they said they were closed at 5pm.. I am a loyal customer but I've had to go far out of my way and one time was an emergencies my baby had a feverhigfever

This store is ALWAYS a mess , there’s always at least two isles that are completely blocked off. I wish I could attach pictures. I hate going in there but it’s the only place that is close.

So they had apple pies on display and I figured I would get my dad two. Turns out they let me leave the store with 2 almost 3 months expired apple pies and my dad ended up getting sick.

Mediocre at best. Last 2 aisles of the store are always so full of boxed stock, you can't even access the the items that belong in those aisles.
