My mother was met with nothing but rudeness and disrespect!!! My mother went here to get some simple supplies to wash her car today. Around 2:55pm or 3:00pm my mother was finished shopping and she went to the register to check out. Well she doesn’t use cards to pay so she had to be physically checked out since their SCO was cards only. Well my mother waited here for 15 minutes without anyone in the store to check her out. She even had the time to call her husband to tell him she’s gonna be a while since there was nobody to ring her up at the register. Well then he told her there might be a bell or a toy to ring that says ring me to alert them that she’s there and there was. I pig that looked to be a dog toy, so she did what the sign read and squeezed it. Well then a man came up to her and without introducing himself or asking how her day is or even asking if she needed help. He decided to grab the pig and threw it as if he was about to take his rage out on my mother which he did! Other customers even seen it and laughed at him because he was childish and they even apologized to my mother after walking out the store because of this behavior! My mother was also attempted to not buy the things she picked out today since he treated her with no respect! I understand that retail is a hard and stressful job since I also work in retail but I would NEVER! treat anyone like this especially when they have done nothing to deserve it! My mother has been shopping here since we lived in NC and that’s been 15 years and this was the last time because she didn’t feel safe at this store! It’s sad a elderly lady can’t feel safe in a damn dollar general now! If you wanna fix this either fire the man who has awful anger issues or apologize to my mother personally!

Shopping would have been better but on a Sunday there were stock rollers covered in boxes of product not put on the shelves and it was hard for me being disabled and my elderly mother in law to get around them and we left without stuff we needed because we couldn't get to it! Then got to the back where the toilet paper is and couldn't find the price for it on shelf tags because the toilet paper was in all different spots! This site needs a little help from someone that knows how to do it right! Left and went to Walmart to get what we couldn't get here!!! This site needs to be cleaned up really bad!!

well I wouldn't say I loved this place I do love Dollar general most of the time but I was not too happy with this visit specifically because of the fact that I didn't have my phone with me with the app pulled up which from what I have been told any other time even if you don't have the offer saved to your profile in the Dollar general app are you supposed to have to do is answer your phone number and it should automatically give you the deal that they have offer at that timebut when I asked the cashier if I could run and grab my phone which was right outside the doors in my carshe said we're actually already closed is it's 5 minutes after closing time and because of her not allowing me to do that which would have taken less than 20 secondsI told her that I just wouldn't be purchasing the for candy bars that I was planning to buy if I'd been able to get the cell deal of buy 3 get 1 free and so for the same amount of time it took her to void out those for candy bars I would have been able to grab my phone and no time and pull up the app so I just thought that was very unprofessional and not very customer-friendly on her behalf and in case anybody's wondering I'm talking about the Newton Dollar general off of highway 16/10 which is right in front of the food Lion in newton

One of the worst experiences ive ever had with customer service. The cashier was so rude was too lazy to return an item and wasn't going to give me my receipt back even after i told her i was gonna have to have it because i had over 60.00 worth of items and i needed t keep my receipt. It was just rediculous! Also she wouldn't take my coupon so i finally just left and went to the other dollar General a couple miles away and they did my return and took my coupon no problems no questions asked. Also the same cashier was working weeks later and did not say hello or thank u when she rang me up just gave me the dirtiest look and handed me my change. Another time here this sweet younger cashier was there all day no one showed up to relieve her and was very upset. This store is always in shambles just a mess and so i drive a couple miles further to the next store to not have to deal with them anymore at this store.

I worked for this dollar general June 2019- January 2020. During my time being at this store there were two crews of employees that were fired from the store with false reasons to be fired upon. After seven months of working with this company and becoming an assistant manager within one month of being hired I had a lot of expectations I was looking to meet and grow in the company. I got hired on with a manager who left after one month and took over the statesville store we had in our district, her name was Charlene and her assistant manager was chelse. Well when she left we got a new manager named Tyler he was inexperienced, unprofessional, and rude but he was honest. He would always tell me what was going on with the company and keep me updated and he partially trained me to be an assistant manager. He informed me of how Charlene and chelse has a lot of ill willed things to say about me and the comical part is that they never even gave me a chance or tried talking to me or even training me. Tyler ended up getting fired after three months of working for our company and I was promoted to assistant manager at that point. Then our district manager had a lot of managers from our whole district come clean up our store and the manager from the other conover dollar general came to our store and took over and her name is mikayla. Well Mikayla did not like that I was the assistant manager she wanted her assistant manager from her old store to be in my position. It took her about two and a half months to come up with any reason she could by constantly watching my every step to get me fired. She belittled me about my pay and told me numerous times that I didn’t deserve the pay I had because I was being paid to much. I never did anything right according to her, she gave me two write ups and stripped my pay and my position tittle in the company after threatening me of it the entire time. Then she reported me to my district manager that was April At the time for keeping receipts because they were the costumers property when I would keep the receipts only to bring them back for the customers to use the $5 cupons On saturdays. Given I did violate the policy that only one manager was aware of out of the 22 in our district which was not to my managers knowledge and I was never trained to know that rule, I was given no write up or warning I just had to sign a paper confirming that I did keep the receipts and I was fired because “my integrity was in question”. I have been approved by the state of North Carolina for assistance due to the fact that I was illegally fired from this company at this store with the management who is still working there to this day. I don’t advise anyone to work here because I am not the only employee stuff like this has been done to. I know of three more employees who were wrongfully fired within the last year of working for this company.

This is my "Go to store" for bout everything plus really enjoy the staff.. Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Always looking out for me and products they know I'm always shopping for 🙋

The employees' are quite rude. They have absolutely no respect for other races' assuming just because they are from a different ethnic, that they can not speak English nor do they have any money. Not everyone knows how to scan their debit or credit card on that little machine so a little help will be appreciated. Instead, one of the cashiers had the nerve to go off on a customer. Poor customer couldn't do anything because they didn't speak much English. I have seen many employees' from other stores guide their customers with the machine, but DG had no manners. I would like to say, If you are working that day; you must remember you're working to please all your customers. You're the one looking to survive that day when you clock in and all that money comes from loyal customers who you disrespect. Maybe DG needs to look into their employees more.

Business was well stocked but too much clutter in aisles and shelves not organized in many aisles. I like Dollar General but this one needs major reorganizing. Store located in Conover NC on Hwy 70.

Wouldnt allow me to open carry my legal side arm in the store bc of a "new policy" that wasnt posted anywhere because "they just made the rule no guns allowed in the store due to recent robberies".

I like going here to get things when I'm in more of a hurry or just dont feel like going to walmart. I can normally find what I need but the service is terrible at every location I've been too.

This is The worst DG I have ever been in. The store is poorly staffed lines 10+ people long 1 register most times. The store is a mess and sloppy. Go a couple miles to the next Dollar General.
