I checked my dog in at 8:30 AM, where I was told 3-4 hours, standard timing for a small dog. It was 2:00 and I hadn’t heard anything. They weren’t answering their phone. I logged online and saw my appointment was marked “completed.” I went to get him at 2:30 and they had JUST started the haircut after a bath. Said there’s only 2 of them and they had to check in all the dogs in the morning. So they just checked in dogs, put them in kennels for 5 hours, and marked them completed so corporate didn’t notice. I took him so they could start on all the other dogs they were backed up with. I’m not mad they were short staffed, but they lied to me about it when I dropped him off, wouldn’t answer the phone, and lied about completing the service in their system.

The groomer did a horrible job. She said his fur was too matted in the back so she just hacked off his hair and left the matted part. His front wasn’t even brushed and all the loose hair was still there. When we picked him up all the lights were off and no one was in the grooming area. He was crying terribly and had been standing in urine. It was all over him. She even cut the white tip on the end of his tail. That was pure meanness. I got my money back! I will never take any animal back there.

I had an appointment this morning at 8:15 and arrived at 8am. The manager, Autumn, texted me that she was running late and stuck in traffic and should be there at 8:15 (about 10 minutes from her text). I waited in my car to hear from her but hadn’t so I walked in at about 8:30 and spoke to another groomer who said she was still running late. I had texted Autumn to please let me know when she got in. At 8:45 I went to see if she was in since I hadn’t heard anything. I saw her at the desk helping another customer who had two small dogs, so did not feel comfortable coming in with my big dog in a very small room. I texted her letting her know I was leaving at about 8:50 and she said she apologizes but was helping another customer. This is extremely poor customer service and poor communication. This has nothing to do with the fact she was stuck in traffic but with the fact that communication was very poor and there was no consideration for my time. She should’ve let me know when she got in instead of helping another customer when I, a customer too, had already been waiting on her for so long. This would’ve been my second time here. I have had much better experiences elsewhere.

Dog was overwhelmed and sent home. We have taken him to training and in public before and he has never had an aggression issue.I believe that he was probably stressed in this environment, but I don’t believe that this was handled well.

I scheduled a first appointment last week with Petco grooming for my puppy who just finished his shots and was in dire need of grooming. When I called the associate was super distracted and I guess was busy but I waited patiently and scheduled. I go in today for the appointment and check in and I am told I was scheduled only for a bath. I immediately shifted attitudes as I took off the rest of the day and drove in pouring rain for this appointment and I would absolutely not book an appointment with Petco for a bath. The Latin looking associate that was doing a groom immediately starts putting blame on me saying you must’ve scheduled online incorrectly and I say no I called. The associate at the front looks and confirms I did call and another groomer in the back confesses she thinks it was her and she must have entered wrong. Obviously this is not my fault that they scheduled wrongly but they refused to do a full groom on my puppy stating they didn’t have time. They could do a face trim but that’s it and we can pick him up in 3 hours. My partner tells me to leave as that’s absurd and don’t even trust them at this point. I left and will never be booking there again. I booked with PetSmart so smooth and easily for tomorrow and they will get my pup finished in no longer than an hour and a half. Get those terrible, low customer service supposed groomers out of there.

They are very nice & great with the dogs, but they are tremendously short staffed. Be aware that your visit may be over 4 hours long like my poor pups was.

I took my pup for his first hair cut and it took 5 hours. He barely had any hair removed when I picked him up. His coat was so choppy that my 14 year old had to fix herself. She did a better job. Luckily, it was inexpensive or else I would’ve been highly upset. I don’t think I’ll return. The groomer was sweet, and handled my baby well.

I feel Jamie has always made my dog a priority. She always does a good haircut and has more than once fit me in to meet my needs. Always friendly! I used to take Smokey to Petco and it always took 6 hours to get him back which always stressed me out because he really doesn't like being there. Jamie only takes half that time. That really makes a difference to me

I see that others have similar issues with the groomers at this Petco and nice to know it's not just my imagination. As far as my experiences with this location is as follows as I had taken my dog there for years until grooming staff got to big for their britches. The weekend grooming staff changed and this new staff weren't capable of handling a 20 pound dog who seemed to bark a lot when put in crate at end of visit until picked up. So I was told due to this, I could only bring my pet during week, and had to wait for him. In my honest opinion, being around dogs since I was 2 years old, if you can't handle a 20 pound dog but you show you obviously handle pit bulls and German Shepherds then your discriminating and should choose a different profession. Furthermore, you should do more to accomdate paying customers instead of dictating to them when they can bring their pet in. Afterall, we live in the USA not RUSSIA. For your unprofessionalism, lack of concern for your customers and their pets, I'll not be returning to your establishment. Perhaps when you lose enough business, as I see others like myself are not returning,you'll listen.

My dog goes in acting nervous like the drama queen she is, however; I never worry. Every time I come to pick her up her tail is wagging like crazy with the groomers before she even knows I'm there. She always smells and looks amazing! They care for her as if she was one of theirs and is why I will continue to use this location.

The tech was fine, I felt bad she was the ONLY one working and the ONLY one that is trained. Petco, Concord, NC has to do a better job with this store. It has been going down hill fast. Staff turnover is terrible. Most the fish were dead, things seem depressing when I go in there. Not sure if anyone is looking at the management or not as to why folks are leaving.

What a great experience! I am adopting a new cat and Tiffany did an OUTSTANDING job at helping me locate essential items for a new cat! The entire staff was so pleasent and the store itself was well organized and properly stocked. COVID-19 has made shopping so hard but Petco proved to be ahead of the game! I would highly recommend this store to anyone! Thanks a million Tiffany... you truly did such an amazing job and you desreved to be recognized for your exceptional customer service skills. Thank you!!!

Customer service was horrible....gave my dogs rabies tag was told I need proof of shots signed on to portal showed date of rabies shot which was last month I was told I needed expiration date no where on my portal shows expiration date just date vaccination was given and if something is due....I cancelled appointment and left obviously they did not want to work today went to petsmart and had no issues never again.....

Just so you know, I will NOT be bringing my dog to Petco anymore. The last time her nails were trimmed they didn't cut the dew claws, left my dog wet, and left her in a cage after groomers were gone for the day. She was whining when my daughter went to get her, and was finallyreleased by the checkout clerk. Very unacceptable behavior for a nation-wide chain of stores

I have taken my lab for years to have it's nails trimmed to Petco. They have always been very professional and very patient with my pup that is always a bit scared. Thanks for helping me keeping my dog healthy.

Be aware!! I do not recommend taking your dog for grooming here. They are not professional and are harsh with the animals. My dog is always afraid to go to this specific location. And there customer service is horrible they don't want to do what the customers is requesting but instead what they feel it's easiest to do. They where sarcastic at the grooming station and completely unprofessional..
