Petco is close to my house and one of the only options for pet supplies for at least 10 miles. That said they have a decent supply of food and treats for all animals. I would not buy my dog food here though as there are very few high quality dog foods. The attendants are pretty helpful, but they are hard to find. Overall, I go here when I need something quick that won't be used a lot or for raw hide bones. Think harbor freight for animals. But way more expensive haha.

Yolanda did the grooming of my dog on 08/29/23. She poked his right eye with a sharp object. When I picked up my dog, I asked what happened. She said it’s been there when I dropped which is a total lie as I pay close attention to my dog and I’ll know if anything like that happened to him. She took the help of front desk guy to say yes to what she lied about. My dog couldn’t open his eye for two days which scared me. He has been on antibiotics since last 10 days, still cannot open his eyes now and then. Enclosing the pictures from today. It would have been nice if she at least admitted her mistake. My poor dog suffered because of her. Never to this grooming place again as my dog’s safety is more important to me.

Had bad experience been to plenty of petcos and groomers for my dogs , first time going to this location, groomers seemed like they didn’t even wanna be there. Had an appointment at 11:15, didn’t get checked in until 11:38, Groomer Letty, kept adding on shampoos for a 13 pound poodle mix, he was matted and I understood he had to be cut short , but his head and ears weren’t bad,I asked to keep hair on ears and head. I’ve worked at a veterinary hospital I’ve seen even worse and groomers didn’t make their dogs looks bad after the cut. She said she would call if it took longer than 4 hours, didn’t get an update decided to go to store to pick him up, by time I got to store she called me at 5:15pm, I have never seen my dog like this ever, worst experience. Also she must of also have him some treats I didn’t approve of because he has constantly been having diarrhea since being picked up. If you can’t handle a groom just let the client know.

We purchased a Mexican golden red rump tarantula from the store, and the experience was great. We’ve only had it a few days, and it molted last night and completed the molt successfully. We have always had positive experiences at this location.

My sweet husky puppy was a little mouthy but incredibly gentle and friendly. They called it an attemped bite and they threatened to contact authorities. We felt like such bad pet parents, they treated our fur baby like it had viciously attacked someone. I still struggle going past this place.

I’ve taken my toy poodle in for grooming a few times now and I just cant seem to understand why Letty continues to groom her. After noticing a cut around her private area the first time she was groomed, I made sure to specify when making my app. that I wanted the manager to groom her. And yet upon looking at my receipt, Letty groomed her again. When arriving for my 3rd appointment, I noticed Letty being rough with a larger dog that was literally standing still and requested that she not touch my dog; Asia groomed her that time.And now upon my 4th visit, requesting the manager again (since Asia was not available upon booking), I see Letty groomed her again!My dog is not even 5lbs and she has anxiety; after watching this lady be aggressive with a larger dog by yanking their leg, i did not want her touching my dog! She also for some reason keeps calling her a boy and grooming her as such when i have repeatedly told her my dog is a girl. Everytime I pick her up after being groomed by Letty, she just has a basic cut which makes everyone assume she is a boy.I’m honestly so sick of making appointments and asking for specific stylists for them to ignore my wishes. I will not be letting her be groomed here again, I will go to another store.

We recently adopted a dog during an adoption event at PetCo. Jon told us about a 30 minute master class he was offering that day to help with transition and answer basic questions. He was wonderful to work with and answered all of my questions. My biggest concern was introducing our new dog to our two seniors at home. He patiently walked me through the steps of a safe introduction and positive reinforcement. His 30 minute master class made the transition to 3 dogs a safe and positive one.

This location almost killed a snake. This corporation nor any of the employees here care about animals well being.Continue deleting our reviews, we will just come back stronger. Y'all are just afraid of the consequences of your actions.As someone who works in animal rescue specifically reptiles. These are not "hard" animals to properly take care for when you actually try, when you actually put in the effort and research which all employees should be doing.

I went in to buy a cat toy and litter genie refills. It was kinda dark in the store but there was a cashier there so I guess they were open. After paying for my items the cashier asked if I wanted a bag and I said yes. Imagine my surprise when I looked over my receipt and seen a 10 cent charge for the bag. I was not told I would be charged and there was nothing posted about the charge. I guess they must be hurting for money and now they can miss mine too. I can order the same items from Amazon so I wont be going back to that store. Of course it also explains why it was so dark inthere...they are saving money on electricity.

James was wonderful! He groomed our dog exactly as we asked him to. Our dog was happy and relaxed when it was all said and done plus she looks super cute.

Charging for bags without letting customers know is not nice, Petco.Update: I appreciate the reply from Petco, and I am in agreement with the option to get a plastic bag or not. Just let us know of the upcharge to make a knowledgeable decision. In this case, we bought frozen food for the fish tank, so we didn't want it to melt or drip in the car.

We had our two dogs get a wash and nail trims. The ladies that provided service were great, and I got the appointment with only a one day wait. For our Labrador and Chihuahua, the total cost was $88. We did tip for their service. The app is great for communication, and they reach out using both texts and emails. A great experience.

The staff was very friendly, and I had gone in to see if they could put out some flyers for a sale at my job. My coworker needed a dog toy. The layout was a bit weird compared to other stores I've been in, but he found what he needed. The biggest issue was the smell when we first walked in. Usually, I don't have that potent of a scent, but it was bad that day.

Grooming- My Collie was groomed here yesterday July 19th. He was in desperate need of grooming as I’ve had some health problems and have not been able to properly groom him myself. After 5 1/2 hours they called me to pick him up. When we got there, the grooming department was closed and we had to find someone to get my dog. My daughter in law took the dog to the car and I paid. I didn’t notice what they had done until after we left. He had a lot of matted hair but I’ve never seen anyone do what they did to my beautiful boy. Please look at the photos. Needless to say, I will never go back!

If you can’t ensure proper care of the animals you house in your stores then you should not be allowed to sell animals. Period. Disgusting that yalls policies allow such horrible neglect to the point your animals are on deaths doorstep and it takes a CUSTOMER coming in to save a life. Treat the animals better. Train your employees better. Pay your employees better. Do better Petco. Pathetic and sad. My heart goes out to every animal in every single one of your stores. I am going to go out of my way to avoid Petco (and petsmart cause they’re just as bad) henceforth.

Today was my first visit to this store because I wanted to price compare with my other pet supplier. Not only were they much much cheaper but the customer service was exemplary! I'll be switching to Petco for all my fur baby needs from now on.

I went in today to purchase a hamster. Just shortly after opening. First, the lights weren't even on in the store. Their truck had just came (I'm guessing) and there were pallets and carts everywhere. It's a good thing I didn't want to look at anything. I only saw one associate working. It seems she was possibly a manager, cashier, and helping with the pets. She was clearly agitated at having to be there in the first place. I waited while she checked out a customer. When it was my turn, I said I need help with hamsters. She said something like "Oh my God I new you'd say that". She was frustrated I could tell. However, I've been a customer service manager for 8 years now. I understand being frustrated. There's no need to take it out on the customers. She made the comment about her being older when typing in my number... if you can keep up, maybe retail isn't for you. No need to be so irritated. She definitely needs customer service skills. The store needs more employees working. Perspective is everything. The lady that helped me, her name was Janene. Not likely coming back to this location, especially if I have to deal with her again.

I hadn't shopped in Petco in over a year, but after stopping in with my dog this afternoon, I was reminded why I hadn't been in so long. We came in to pick out some toys. The ones I picked up happened to have a 20% sticker on the price listed on the shelf. When we got to checkout, I saw that they weren't ringing up with the percentage off. I walked the cashier over to where it the sticker was, he agreed and told me that he would have to get his manager's approval. He goes over to speak to her and comes back to me and states that she won't honor it because "the sticker says until 10/31"...which was written in a 1 point font. This was an error entirely on the manager for not making sure the discounted price hadn't been removed (staying there for 2 weeks) but beyond the error, just poor customer service for not honoring what was advertised. I definitely won't be back to this location, or any other Petco for that matter, and will continue shopping at my preferred stores PetSmart and Chewy.

James and Letty were great with my little guy. James got back to me with answers to accommodations I wanted to inquire about. Letty was very approachable and great with my little guy. I always have a sense of anxiety taking him to the groomer and they listen each time about my concerns and keep me updated on things each time. Great staff and great grooming service.

Went to the new petco inside the lowes at University on Saturday May 21st around 1 pm. Feel bad I forgot their names but the two people handing out the gift bags were super nice and helpful. They said they were from the Concord Mills location. Thank you!

My 85 lb German Shepherd is very nervous when it comes to getting his nails trimmed secondary to all the sounds and overall process. I’ve been told in the past that he’s only able to have them “clipped” because he won’t sit still long enough for the dremel. Which is fine and is what it is. Well I’m pleased to say Tiffany K proved that wrong today. She was so kind and patient with him. She was able to keep him calm and used the dremel without a problem. Her care made all the difference. We will be using her exclusively in the future! Highly recommend.

I have been taking my puppy to Petco @ Concord Mills for a little over a year for grooming. The last few visits have been awful with staff showing up late and not contacting me when my pup was ready to be picked up. Today's visit was the worse I have ever had and for that reason, I will not be back.I had an 8:15am appointment. I scheduled a cut but the groomer informed me that the longest cut they could do was a 1inch cut. I didn't want his hair that short so I declined the cut and requested a bath only.When I picked him up, they added a trim and brush out claiming that my dog was matted. They checked him for matts prior to taking him in but all of a sudden, he is now matted and needed to be trimmed. I asked why this was not disclosed prior to the appointment when he checked him initially and the rep with an attitude said that they reserve the right to add charges as they see fit. What? OK, , my response, "please put his leash on and I'll go settle up. However, I will not be back to this salon and I will file a formal complaint". To that, the response was "that's fine". So While I am filing a formal complaint with the BBB and raising this complaint to Petco Corporate, I am also posting this review on Google so that others will know what to expect before shopping. You get what you pay for and while $40 isn't terrible for the awful service that I received it was far too much to pay. I will not utilize Petco for any of my puppy needs again.
