I took my precious furbaby Bella to see Dr Gensel the other day. They worked me in as emergent which I am very grateful for. The tech that worked with Bella was amazing! She was very patient and extremely compassionate. Bella was fussy and they were understanding and phenomenal with her!! Dr Gensel was extremely thorough in his examination of her. There was something found that is concerning..but Dr Gensel was very quick to help ease my fears. Because there is more than one thing that it could be. I appreciate the fact that he didn’t want to put her through anymore than she had already been through;unless it becomes absolutely necessary. She is one of two of my emotional support animals. Her and her sister are both much more than just a pet. They are family, and Bella was treated as such, just as Sadie was when she was seen there by Dr Gensel. I take Bella back for a re-check in mid April. I am happy to say that Bella is showing an increase in energy. I’m trying very hard to keep a positive mind set. A huge thank you from the staff at the front desk to everyone that worked with Bella. Ya’ll are amazing!

All the pet care workers here are fabulous. This whole office is the most compassionate and caring team of vet staff I have ever seen. My pets are so very well taken care of it is unbelievable. I love this vet hospital!! I can't tell you in words how grateful I am to have them here in Bladen county!

I adopted a puppy who was very sick. Last minute call to the vet. Wasn't a customer. Took my pup, Maggie Moo, in was given diagnosis and prescriptions. Now I am the owner of a new puppy since, she is better. Should rename her Diabla. She's non stop. Staff and Dr. we're superb.2nd visit was with an emaciated puppy that I almost hit. They took us and "Roadie" is on to recovery. Extremely pleased with them. And the doctor educates me on something new when I go. Different atmosphere and delivery. Thanks.

I drove over an hour and a 1/2 just to take my dog here for surgery. I am beyond grateful for the amazing high quality, compassionate care we recieved. I trusted the dr and staff to preform a surgery not many drs were willing to preform. I felt confident that the doctor would be able to provide safe and successful surgery. Another hospital quoted us $4000 to $5000 for the surgery, which I could not afford. The entire bill after surgery here was $1200. They save me sooo much money. I cannot thank them enough for helping my dog.

The people that run this place are some of the most awesome, loving, caring, out going people I've had the pleasure of meeting!! Dr Douglas is super talented, he has a gift,and he uses it very well. He saved my dogs life, when no other vet in Elizabethtown would see my baby he did!!! And for that I will forever be grateful 💕

This is my second visit to this location. My first visit was my 13yr Blue Nose Pitt Bella had a massive tumor on her hind leg. After her exam the Dr have us all our options (very limited). It was a hard decision but we did what was best for Bella. She loved a long and happy life and was an awesome protector. Then come my new protector Sage. Do to a small amount of bad parenting on my part she got the ear infection. Went into EVH and NOT only to let me know I wasn’t being a bad parent but they took care of my BabyGirl and she is back to her regular scheduled spoiled life. Thank you EVH👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤜🏾🤛🏾

Dr Gensel and his helpers are the best. They took good care of our Peewee. Everything was explained clearly to us and all questions were addressed. Peewee had to stay overnight and one of the techs took the time to send us a pic so we could see her. I thoroughly appreciated the care and level of expertise our pet received. Thank you all.

Our first visit to the office was truly delightful. The office space is beautiful, and the staff members are incredibly friendly and passionate about their work. Their genuine happiness and attentiveness towards customers were evident in their faces and the way they cared for our pet. The veterinarian took the time to have a detailed conversation with us, ensuring that all of our concerns were thoroughly addressed. The follow-up call the next day to check on our pet, Bella, provided us with great reassurance. We are grateful for the exceptional service and will undoubtedly continue to choose this office for our veterinary needs. Thank you to the entire team!

They saved my senior dog’s life. Performed a very intensive surgery that other Veterinarians were not confident performing. My baby boy has made a full recovery and is doing wonderful! The entire staff here cared so much! Some of the most beautiful people I have ever met, especially in a medical setting. I highly recommend them! The best of the best!

An absolutely wonderful vet hospital! When I was searching for the right place to take my pups, it was a hard decision, but as soon as I took them to their first appointments at Elizabethtown Veterinary Hospital, I knew I had found the right place, not only for my current dogs, but any dogs or cats I’ll have in the future. They’ve been great about sending reminders in the form of texts, emails, and physical mail when my two need updated vaccines and wellness exams. Happy to say my babies are healthy and in good hands while they’re being taken care of here.

Dr Gensel and his staff, some of which have been there for may years, are phenomenal. Our Old English Sheepdog has required surgery twice. We were kept apprised of his condition as they went along.

Elizabethtown Veterinary is one of the best vets I've been to. The team there is so friendly and helpful. I feel like they always look out for me and my babies. My 12-year-old boy needed surgery that no other animal hospital would perform, and if they did it was thousands more than the average. Elizabethtown Vet did it. His surgery was a success and the cost was very reasonable. They’re truly incredible, and really care about animals. Every member of their staff reached out to check on us, always available for questions, and made themselves available for concerns. I’ve never seen such a wonderful staff.

Today the amazing people of this wonderful veterinary hospital saved my daughter's dog's life. 2 Pitt bulls attacked her in her yard and we took them here and they were the best and they have done absolutely went above and beyond to take care of her. Every single member of this place is amazing and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a vet for their baby. Thank you a million times and I can't thank all of you enough. The staff obviously have a passion for animals and their well-being. The front desk gals are always friendly and helpful. The Doc's are compassionate and really know their stuff. They treated my animals very well. It's a little pricey but worthwhile.

My baby Boo had started acting like he couldn't get enough air and his little heart seemed to be beating very fast. He didnt want to eat or drink, I was so worried I thought he may have gotten something hung in his throat outside that day. I stayed up all night try to do mouth sweeps and give him water and something for a fever cause he was hot. I cried and I prayed. The next morning he wasn't any better so I called the Vet. They said they had surgery that day but for me to go ahead and bring him and they would try to see him between. When I got there the ladies up front came out and talked to me about what had happened, they could see how upset I was. They went ahead and took my baby in to check him out, then they came and talked to me about what the doctor was wanting to do, and not long the doctor himself came out because he desided to do something different. My baby is still sick but he is feeling alot better, and I just want everyone in the world to no that those people are the best in the world they understand that you pets are family not just animals and that you love them as must as you would or do your own child. They go above and beyond to make sure that you and your baby no matter what it looks like are well taken care of. Thank God for them and there love and help. JoAnn Guyton

The clinic is a good place but get very frustrated when I have a animal that needs attention that day and càn never get in to see the Vet if I don't have a appointment. It's not like you know when something is going to happen to your pet that you can make appointment. I hate I have to drive to Lumberton to see a Vet when we have 2 in Elizabethtown. But I'm not paying for a emergency visit on a weekday during normal hours or want to sit for 4 hours while they treat animals with appointments.

I feel my pets receive great care at Elizabethtown Veterinary Hospital from their Annual checkups to their Acute issues that may come up through the year. They also follow up with you to make sure your pet is doing well after any procedures and boarding to answer any questions you may have. The front desk staff works tremendously hard as well to get you checked in and out as efficiently as possible. Thanks for everything y’all do!
