Super fantastic experience! I hope this review field doesn't have a character limit because I have a ton to say... We are first-time RV buyers, but not first-time recreational consumers. We've owned 2 yachts, numerous dirt-bikes, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, side-by-sides, sports vehicles... you get the picture. Nothing 'should' scare us, but because the RV world is so foreign to us, we didn't feel confident in where to start or what to do. But...Enter Matt with Blue Compass RV in Hickory, NC. Matt was not only professional; he was incredibly patient, genuinely kind, vastly educational, and I believe, he truly cared about our purchase experience as much as he cared that we understood what "we we're getting into". My husband is a highly decorated West Point graduate and retired officer/engineer. He thinks and acts to the beat of a seriously different neuro-drum. So many people discount him or just believe he's disinterested, and they act accordingly. But, he's actually the biggest sweetheart, who's just a little too intellectual for his own good, sometimes. Matt handled us in such a caring way, and he never once made me "feel badly" for how my hubby processes and proceeds. I'd love to tell you that was our experience at Blue Compass across the board, but in our buying process, we actually visited THREE different Blue Compass entities. From the second I met Matt and a couple other folks at BC in Hickory, I knew that's where we'd buy. I wasn't wrong. From the countless calls and questions to the many random thoughts and worries, Matt, the service department, the "techs", and all the other folks at the Hickory Blue Compass handled and showed exemplary service driven attention to and helped build our knowledge base, but more, our confidence. Now, I know we'll enjoy our new hobby more than we would have, otherwise. TO ALL OF YOU AT BLUE COMPASS IN HICKORY, NC, (especially Matt), YOU GUYS ARE FANTASTIC, AND BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY... We are extremely happy with our experience at Blue Compass RV Hickory. We worked with salesman, Matt Horniman, who was very helpful and so flexible with our schedule. He got us a great deal on our dream camper! The finance process was smooth working with Kevin Sarro, and the walkthrough was excellent with Larry and Michael in the service department. Everyone was so friendly and made us feel like family. I highly recommend checking this place out for your next RV purchase.

We were looking to down size from our 30 foot motor home and had settled on a new 2024 Isata 3 Freedom Edition. These are new techology with no LP or Generator.And lots of nice features. There were only a few around with the configuration we wanted.One at Blue Compass which was 3+ hours away and a couple in Iowa about 14 hours away. We selected Blue Compass based on the distance and the reviews that I had seen.We put down a deposit unseen to hold the RV and drove over to look at it. Decided to go ahead and do the deal. There was a pretty long wait while doing the initial paperwork as we were at the RV show and the internet was spotty. But we finally got the initial paper work done.We worked with Jay Strother and he was excellent to work with. Everyone was extremely nice at the dealership, and easy to work with.The only area where there could have been a little improvement was with the PDI and walk through on delivery day.I caught a couple of minor issues that had been missed on the dealer's PDI and those were taken care of immediately.One other item had to have a new handle ordered so we are waiting for that to arrive. The other item was a fogged window which was noted by Jay when we arrived. We will have that replaced/repaired under warranty later to give time to shake out any other warranty issues.The area where the PDI could have been improved on was I think due to the fact that this was only the 2nd one of the Freedom Editions that they had sold.There were some things I should have pushed to be more fully demonstrated so that was on me for not asking some more questions at the time.I expected that the technology was likely different enough to have some issues. I found some problems with one of the 2 Lithium batteries and the inverter when I got home, as well as a heat pump issue.The heat pump issue turned out to be a configuration issue from the factory due to a different brand installed on the RV. So that was an easy fix. Just changed the configuration setting.One of the batteries was not being recognized and the Inverter would not start from the control panel. Since this was also new tech to me I needed to get help from Xantrex the company that provides the batteries and Inverter system.There support is top notch and we quickly resolved the battery and inverter issue. I also worked with FireFly Integrations on some issues with that control system and they were also quite good to work with.And Dynamax's GM for the Isata 3 was a big help in the on line forums and Facebook group. That was one reason we chose the Isata was how active Dynamax is with the online forums and Facebook.If you are not real familiar with RV you should know that all new RVs will have issues to some degree. As such you may want to hire an inspector to go over the RV before you close on the deal. Otherwise take your time to look the RV over and don't be afraid to ask questions on anything you are uncertain of.So while there were some glitches with the PDI, and with the RV, the overall experience still rates a 5 in my estimation due to people we dealt with and especially due to our sales rep Jay Strother. It was a joy to work with Jay and everyone else at Blue Compass.I expect that this will be our last RV. But if we were in the market again in the future I would definitely deal with Blue Compass in Hickory/Claremont NC.I just wish they were closer so we could easily use them for servicing the RV.

Extremely happy with the service dept at Blue Compass in Hickory/Claremont. They did a complete front cap replacement and it was in the shop for a very reasonable amount of time for such a task. As one could imagine, it takes a while to ship front caps, but the wait wasn’t long, and I was able to use the camper while we waited for the cap to show up following the diagnosis. I originally purchased the camper at a sister dealership, but the Claremont location is close to my house so I took it to them and they took care of the front cap and other issues very quickly. Jessica, Service Advisor in Hickory, is always helpful when our RV is in for service. She explains what is needed, how long it will take and the cost upfront. She listens to our concerns & questions. This is 2nd Rv we purchased here and have enjoyed every aspect of purchase and service Mike inventory manager is helpful, always checks in every time I come into store Kevin in finance is nice to work with also checks in when in store bill service manager is very helpful and friendly always there when I have questions and returns calls quickly. Brett the GM is runs store as he owns it shows true management always ask what they can do for help overall employees are extremely friendly and helpful

I especially want to thank Kenny Miller and Trent for staying late and busting his butts to get the slide fixed on my daughter and son in laws tour hauler so they could take it to the beach.

I have used the Hickory/Conover Blue Compass location for warranty service on a Jayco motorhome we purchased in May from Blue Compass in Tampa. Kenny was the service advisor who originally took my call after this dealership switched to Blue Compass. He verified warranty work could be completed at this location and we began to evaluate what needed to be done. Kenny has been great to communicate with, always keeping me updated on what was being done and how long the work would take. He has made sure I was not without my RV if we needed to pick it up and bring it back later. The technicians even found a few major issues that needed addressing that also were warranty items. Kenny advised me of those, quoted a time frame, and exceeded it. I highly recommend Blue Compass service in Hickory, thank you Kenny and team!

Initial reaction to this dealer was awesome, such friendly folks snd willing to answer our many questions.I need to update my review, sadly. We had great customer service while there, but the inspection process was awful. There were lots of little things that were missed, but they also let us drive off with one trailer tire only inflated to 21 psi, and our freaking propane tanks weren’t secured. The combination of those two things could have been disastrous. Since getting home , we found the GoPower controller failed, the seal for the slide was coming off, and the paint on the back bumper is already needing to be redone. We did so many hours of research before buying this trailer, we still love the trailer but are so disappointed with these quality issues.

No pressure sales and competitive pricing. The service department is a little backed up at times (basically due to the popularity of RVs now) but they will do their best to work with your schedule and they do excellent work. If there are any issues with what they did, they will bend over backwards to make it right. Highly recommend!

Blue Compass in Claremont NC could NOT be any better to work with! They are such a breath of fresh air after dealing with camping world for years. We were devastated the day before Thanksgiving with a fire that damaged our motorhome. We had never taken our motorhome to BC but they welcomed us with open arms and were so compassionate during a very difficult time. They helped us navigate through the insurance procedures. They were great liaisons for us with progressive. Although progressive ended up totaling our motorhome, they worked with us on an affordable complete repair. We can NOT say enough “thank you’s” to Jessica and Coleman! They were a DREAM to work with! Not only are the efficient, timely and great communicators, they are great people that showed us nothing but kindness during this process! We will never go anywhere else for our Motorhome needs! The only thing I regret is not finding them sooner! I would HIGHLY recommend Blue Compass Claremont to anyone!

My wife Kelly and I can't say enough about the staff at Carolina Coach & Camper. From the first day we came to the lot to the day we picked up our camper we were treated like family. Our salesman Mark, kept us informed and updated on what was going on with our build. Frank gave us our orientation walk through and left no stone unturned. Katherine handled our financing explaining all options. Tammy took care of all our accessories and installs and made sure things were correct. And I hope this name is correct, Frank our technician installed our new tow hitch and showed us how it worked and how to hook it up to our truck. Like I said family. Don't waste your time or money going anywhere else, come here and see for yourself.

April 2024... here I am again and I still have only great things to say about this dealership. Personal thanks to super duper tech Doug for helping me with my antique solar panel at the end of a workday. And to Kim in Parts for researching my options (and Tom for assisting her). Jessica, as always, helpfully coordinating. And a big thanks to Bill, whom I had never met before, for allowing me a late afternoon unscheduled drop-off a few weeks ago. I had a ride home available then whereas I had no ride home available for my scheduled drop-off the following morning. What a help that was! THANKS to all you guys for always going above and beyond!June 2021...once again, a tremendous service team has successfully gotten me back on the road in record time during the busy season. Greg, Doug, Jessica, Savannah, and everyone...thanks a million! Way above and beyond. So glad I bought my RV at Carolina Coach.Thanks to Tim and Tammy in parts for all their help; great employees. Also thanks to everyone for following coronavirus safety guidelines.Drove all the way back from Alabama to make sure I got good service at my dealership. They took care of me very well. Thanks to Trent for answering the direct tech line on Easter Sunday and trying to help me while I was still in Alabama. Alas, because of my poor maintenance, I had to make the trip home. Wow! I cannot express how great my experience was in buying a used motorhome from Matt Horniman! Even after agreeing to a price, Matt and the dealership went ahead an replaced/corrected several items that were found just because it was the right thing to do WITHOUT me even asking! Everyone else that I interacted with was very pleasant each and every visit. They treated me like I was buying the most expensive and brand new product that they offered even though it was far from it! I highly recommend going to see Matt Horniman for any RV need, even if it isn't on their lot, since they are part of national network and you will not be disappointed with the level of service that you receive from the buying experience with them! I have not had any experience with the service department yet but have high hopes that it is just as well! Shout out to Mike as well for my detailed final walk-through!

We bought a 2024 aurora travel trailer from Eric who was very professional and knew what he was talking about and guided us to what we had wanted and asked for. We were very pleased with the process of buying the trailer. And by the way, the Aurora trailer is made very well and we’re very pleased with it. I also want to give a high praise to the parts department. Her name is Tammy. There were a few things that I had to have replaced on my new Aurora RV travel trailer. She was very attentive and had the parts to me the next day just outstanding customer service. Five stars for both department, sales and parts. I’m sure the service is just as good. Spent a couple hours with Sales Rep Ray. Excellent knowledge of their products, patient and attentive to our needs. Very professional and helpful. As a new rep of less than 3 months Ray gets a 5 star from me. The dealership rates at a 3. Upon paying a deposit to hold the RV we scheduled a time one week out with the RV specialist upon pickup to go over the operation of the RV. We were informed by the manager that the unit would be thoroughly checked over and tested through 3 cycles on the refrigerator, heating and cooling system. Upon delivery of the RV during our walk through we discovered the holding tanks were not empty. The dealership was going to send us away with contents in the black tank. Its winter time and we have had below freezing temps. We insisted the tanks be emptied at the dealership where they have a dump station. A tech told my husband just to add a couple bags of ice to the toilet to dislodge what may be effecting the tank sensor and dump it later. We absolutely were not ok with this. Today at home we discovered the fresh water tank was full. My advice to anyone is do not pay for your Rv or submit a review until this service department completes all the tasks promised.

I bought a teardrop camper and the sales service was excellent. I was greeted by my salesman Eric and he didn’t tell me to just walk the lot, he stayed with me and answered my questions and when he didn’t know the answer he got someone else that did. He wasn’t afraid to say I don’t know and that was refreshing to hear. The finance department was great to work with and the manager also came out to check on me and answer any questions I had. They also have a wonderful parts department and Tammy can get you anything you need. My overall experience was very positive and I highly recommend them.

Great experience from beginning to end. Kevin did a great job with helping us pick out a camper. Mike did an amazing demonstration on the camper and showed us everything we needed. Tammy in parts was super knowledgeable and helpful. They even took us back to meet our service advisor Jessica who was super nice and gave us some great advice on how to maintain our camper. Would recommend this dealership to everyone. Can’t wait to start our camping adventure.
