When it comes to a reliable place to trust your dog with, this is the place. Sue and her staff are great. Snoopy is 12 years old and lost his sister which was the same age in August of 2023 and he has been in the dumps. We started taking him here once a week which has really brightened up his day to see other dogs he can associate with. Keep up the great work.

Love this place! They're able to handle my monster husky and understand the level of play he requires. I can take him there and feel like he is safe and being treated well. I've taken him to other places in Washington and he's come back anxious and scared. When he gets here he runs straight in with no issues or protesting.

We have a dog with anxiety issues. She is blind and gets confused. The staff recognized she was having a hard time and took measures to make her comfortable. We appreciate the care and concern.

I live in Pennsylvania (PA) and was going away for 3 weeks in July – peak vacation season! I looked at kennels in my area, but did not get that warm and fuzzy feeling about them. A good friend, who lives in North Carolina (NC), recommended Chocowinity Pet Resort and Day Camp as she knows the manager, Miss Sue. I took a trip down to visit my friend and to tour the Pet Resort. The place was immaculate and very well kept. The location is off a main road, but secluded enough to not have a lot of car traffic. Compared to the kennels in PA, this place was perfect with huge runs – even for small dogs; play/common areas outside that were fenced in; staff that were so nice and accommodating, even though I was trying to book during a prime vacation time of year. I really couldn’t have asked for a better place to leave my fur babies and feel that they would be safe and well looked after. They even took the time to send me pics of them while I was away – how caring is that!! So yes, I drove all the way from PA to NC to kennel my dogs with Chocowinity Pet Resort and Day Camp and would do it again in a heartbeat. It was well worth the trip for the peace of mind that my dogs were getting the best care they could while my family and I were away. Thank you again Chocowinity Pet Resort!!

As a new dog owner and a not so pleasant experience at another facility, I was reluctant to board my husky ever again! But an occasion arose and I was referred to Chocowinity Pet Resort. I am SOOOOOO glad I gave them a try! The manager was amazing! She spent time on the phone with me, was able to get my husky in on very short notice and was just a very pleasant woman! Once we arrived, my dog was showered with lots of excited attention and was whisked away with no anxiety on his part! (he is usually anxious and nervous!) He came home the happy and excitable dog he usually is, unlike his last visit at a different facility! (It took him 2 days to go back to his normal self after that experience) I was so glad that he did not require his anxiety meds while he was there also! That says A LOT about the care and attention he received. I highly recommend this facility and will sing their praises to anyone that needs to board their animals! . =)

I brought my dog with me visiting my family but Mom is allergic to dogs and I boarded him here. They have a great facility. It was too hot for them to open the indoor/outdoor kennels which seems like a great option but they took him out to play with other dogs which he loves. Three large play yards. They gave him a raised bed to sleep and treated him well. For an additional half day fee I could pick him up on Sunday morning, which I really needed. This is better than the facilities I have locally and it's not always worth bringing him on the long drive, but now I know in case of need this is a great option.

We left our dog Molly for the first time over night It was hard and the staff reassured us she would be fine. she wouldn’t eat the first day so they mixed some can food with hers and she finally ate. I called every day to check on her and they gave me a update, if your pet is your fur baby like ours this is the place.

I visited this Pet Resort for a position that is available.Sue, the owner, is friendly and was a great help answering my questions about being employed there.Resort is clean and spacious.I wouldn't hesitate to leave my beloved dog's in their care.

Friendly staff. I love that my fur baby can go in and n out of his section to potty and move. Not stuck in a crate the whole time. My buddy was able to play with other dogs as well.

Choco Pet Resort goes above and beyond not only for the fur babies in their care but also to make sure owners know how they are doing. The staff there are so helpful and caring as if they were caring for their own pets. 5 Star rating for sure!!

Best place to bring your pets for grooming, boarding and play!! My dog loves it here so much that he sometimes doesn't want to come home with me!! The employees and owner treat him so well and give him so much love!!

My dogs will be boarding here in January! My dogs have not stayed yet but this is the cheapest place I have found for my Great Dane and Boxer to stay. It is also the ONLY place I have found I can drop them off on Saturday and pick them up Sunday. I have called around and everywhere else is closed to the public on Sunday so you have to pay another night of boarding and pick them up Monday! I love Dr. Barnt and Dr. Pinney! I have used Choco Vet for years and recommended many people to switch there!

My husband had to have surgery in Raleigh & on the recommendation of a very close friend, we boarded our German Shepherd puppy, Della, with Sue & her staff at Chocowinity Pet Resort...I cannot say enough great things about this place...due to medical complications, we had to leave Della longer than expected & Sue was so sympathetic which took some of the worry off my mind...when I finally picked up Della, she was clean & just a happy girl....I can’t convey how happy I was with my baby’s care....I plan to take her back soon just for a play date with her doggie friends....I highly recommend this facility to anyone who loves their fur baby!
