Very nice casual restaurant on the water near the Chimney Rock State Park. Wait staff was great. Ian gave us a suggestion for a great place to hike. Gift store staff were also super helpful in suggesting a historic place to visit. We had the Hillbilly fries, and they were covered in pulled pork, bacon, and cheese. Delicious! We shared a turkey sandwich. It was also fantastic. Great lunch stop.

Fun, clean & friendly environment. Our waitress Elisha was quite delightful and accommodating! Our cups were never empty! Food was so good.My hubby said it’s the best burger he’s had in a long time. He had the Smokehouse burger, I had a the maui burger…If we ever make our way back here, we will definitely eat at the Riverwatch Bar & Grill again. 👍🏼👍🏼

I always appreciate a restaurant that takes care of its customers and has great food. It’s not the first time we had dinner here and it won’t be the last. We were able to eat the great food while listening to live music and watching the peaceful river. Chimney rock is your backdrop to this experience just making it relaxing. They also had a free vow renewal ceremony we participated in. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than they gave us! Thanks Riverwatch for always being great!

It’s alright. Great view of chimney rock if you’re on the patio, but that’s pretty much the entire town along the river. River watch has a huge menu focused on burgers, but man if it isn’t HIGH. You’ll pay an arm and a leg for a mediocre burger in this mountain town. Service was insanely slow - at one point during our visit, not one single person on the patio had food. To be fair, you can see the fella cooking the burgers to order from the street, but still pretty inexcusably slow. Food is fine but unremarkable.

Beautiful location on the Broad River in Chimney Rock Village. Excellent service and a very good burger. Interior decor is nice, you practically walked thru the kitchen and the outside deck is marvelous. Look almost straight up and see Chimney Rock! Amazing view. I had to add that the Fried Pickles were the BEST I’ve ever had, bar none.

What a great restaurant this is! The views are amazing! You can admire Chimney Rock State Park from the terrace of the restaurant. But also, you can enjoy the view of the river running right in front of you. The decoration of the restaurant is vintage. It has a cool bar with good craft beers. The options to eat are delicious! All of the patties are tasty and big, and the toppings are fresh. I would definitely come back with my family.

Good place to grab a bite after Chimney Rock. Not sure about the best burger in NC claim but the burger was fine. Ian our server was very good and returned often to check on us. The onion rings were the hit so definitely give those a try. Lawful concealed carry not permitted in the restaurant so FYI if you are from a gun friendly state like Florida. Total for 2, burger and Po Boy soda and tip. $40

I am sorry to say I was dissatisfied and disappointed with my meal, but my wife enjoyed hers.I had a mushroom burger with onion rings, the burger was one of the driest I have ever had,and it hardly had any mushrooms on it.The onion rings were so soggy and limp that it was hard to eat them. They also ran out of the sweet tea I was drinking. We came in at around 4:15 and I was told they close at 5:00 so they didn’t want to make and waste the tea, which I can understand, but to charge me $15.00 for a dry burger and limp, greasy onion rings is not right. Maybe because it was a holiday and everyone wanted to go home the food wasn’t good and the service lacking. We are locals,it was the first and probably the last time we dine at this establishment.

We all really enjoyed the food. I had the patty melt, and ordered a salad as my side. I saw that there was a $1 upcharge for a salad, and I was happy to pay that. As the waitress was finishing getting our order,I asked if I could buy just a side of coleslaw so I could try it. When the bill came out, she put the slaw as my side, and charged me $5 for a side salad.

We exited this stop after our a Chimney Rock hike. I had the southwest burger, it was different but really good…the onion rings were excellent too!Fried pickles were probably the best I’ve had in a while. I also had the peach sangria and it hit the spot. Service was good, Destiny was very helpful and attentive. Loved the location as well…lots of shopping as being right on the river was great for the kids. We spent a couple hours after lunch just playing on the rocks and in the water. Definitely recommend!

Originally planned on going to highland kitchen, due to the rating , however , we walked in and saw no a soul at noon...we instantly walked out and along the river, we saw river watch and decided to go there, we were given a 20 min wait, after 5 min, our table was ready....we got a burger, and onion rings/fries/ the service and quality was spot on, the onion rings were the best I've had in awhile, they were freshly made. Definitely recommend this palace!

Went to river watch after spending our time in a nearby spot. This place is located on a Main Street, parking is on the street. There is no charge for the parking. There is a hostess in the front that went to clean a table for us, im assuming they were busy. The tables in the front were full, we were seated in the patio outside with the lake view that was beautiful. Definitely recommend this place to eat outside with the view. There is plenty of options on the menu mostly burgers 🍔. I ordered the Jalapeño melt and sweet Potatoe fries. The fries were cold, other than that my meal was good. It did take a while for our food to come out from the kitchen estimated 30+ min. They were near closing time, possibly that is why.Vegetarian options: They have a veggie burger option.Kid-friendliness: Family environment.

The food was pretty darn tasty. I had the pimento cheese burger with sweet potato fries and boy did it fill me up. Large helping of food. The sweet potato fries come with a honey butter that I could lather myself in, so delicious! The sweet tea was sweet and the service was good. The view from the patio in the back is a must see. Great place to enjoy a meal. My friend got the hottie burger (pictured) and she said it was so good. We both got a side of their boom boom sauce and man, that stuff is Yummmmmy! So is the bacon jam that comes in the pimento cheese burger.

Will try more burgers...This was a recommendation from another local business as we were in town to go up Chimney Rock. We got there as they opened and was seated right away. The food selection was good especially the different types of burger they had. Staffs are pleasant, perhaps because they just opened up. The outside seating was great, overlooking the river and chimney rock above. Food delivery was acceptable, and the wait was worth it! all fresh and good portions for sure. My party ordered different types of burger and we shared to have a taste to compare which was the best, and I strongly recommend It's So Gouda burger... the flavors will surprise you. Will certainly return if we are ever back in the area.

Right in the heart of charming Chimney Rock, North Carolina, Veronica and I embarked on a flavorful mountain journey at RiverWatch Bar & Grill. Its famed outdoor patio, nestled above the Rocky Broad River, provided soul-soothing views of the river and the rugged grandeur of Chimney Rock State Park.Stepping into RiverWatch was like stepping into a mountain postcard. The open-air patio, perched above the tranquil waters, with the backdrop of lush state park fall colors, set the stage for a memorable meal. The experience beautifully combined mouthwatering cuisine with the natural beauty of the region, leaving an indelible mark in your hearts. In the midst of this delightful experience, Swampy, your adventurous companion, savored the RiverWatch famous Cheeseburger Melt, accompanied by loaded potato salad. The flavors were a tantalizing dance for his taste buds, preparing him for the adventure that awaited. With satisfied appetites and hearts warmed by mountain hospitality, we set off to conquer the heights of Chimney Rock. I have to say the staff and the service was impeccable!!As the sun bathed Chimney Rock Village in its golden glow, Veronica, Swampy and I carried the memory of this remarkable mountain lunch at RiverWatch, It was a tale of mouthwatering cuisine, the company of loved ones, and the breathtaking beauty of North Carolina's natural wonders, a story to be shared and savored for years to come.#vicspicks #vicspicksrealty #vicmiskanic #veronicamontoya #chimneyrockvillage #chimneyrock #northcarolina #smokymountains #swampy

We drive approximately 65 miles every month or so, just to eat at this fantastic restaurant. The menu has many nice choices and the food is always excellent. The staff is always welcoming and super efficient. Right on the river, you can dine inside or out. Recently they offered renewing of wedding vows with all the bells and whistles and we decided to redo our vows of 50 yrs. there. Such a nice thing to offer. It was beautiful. I simply can't say enough good things about this restaurant!

Really good food but the atmosphere is A++. Sat outside on the water and live music was playing as well. I got a shrimp po boy that was overflowing with the little guys. I had a bite of the burger and thought it was just okay to be known as a “top burger in North Carolina”, but I’ll have to try one for myself next time. Definitely recommend eating here if you’re in Chimney Rock/Lake Lure.

Well first off when your greeted at the door for seating with a true friendly welcoming smile, you know your in a good place. Service was top notch with not just our server but from others that working there walking by just asking if we were okay. Fried pickles should be order as soon as you are seated , they are a different spin with great favor. The burger was very well prepared delicious until the last bit ( just got the Riverwatch burger) but so many choices. Ordered the Po'boy shrimp sandwich also a hit with there own special sauce. If your in the Chimney Rock area make this a must stop an try, you'll become a fan for sure.
