Great selection of gourmet cupcakes. I ordered cupcakes for a birthday party and they were a hit! I picked a variety and people cut them in half and shared the different ones. I did not share mine 🤷🏾‍♀️ They already have a bunch made and ready to go. Absolute deliciousness! I’ve got to stay out of there😋 Pricing was not bad for what you get in terms of taste and quality.

Very cute and quaint bakery offering a variety of cupcakes and ice cream. I opted to get the Boston creme pie cupcake and it good, not as moist as I was expecting or wanting it to be, but still had good flavor nonetheless. I would go back and try other flavors. They have some permanent flavors and they rotate other flavors, so something for every tastebud.

I’ve been here about 3-4 times and the cupcakes are always fresh and delicious. I love how they have a specialty cupcake of the day. My favorite so far has been the pecan pie and the vanilla bean ( which I sadly think they got rid of). I’ve always had good customer service here too!EditUnfortunately I’ve had to change my rating. Haven’t been in a while and went in yesterday and ordered their daily special which was red velvet cheesecake and strawberry French toast. It definitely seems like they changed their recipe. It’s very artificial tasting now, the icing in particular. Reminds me of store bought cupcakes. It’s sad cause this was one of my favorite cake places. Even my boyfriend noticed and didn’t finish his.

I decided to give this place a try and I wasn't disappointed. The cupcakes were very moist and rich. I was barely able to finish 1 because they were big and very filling. I definitely will be back.

Smallcakes Utopia supplied the cupcakes for our 25th anniversary party. I worked with my caterer to figure out how many cupcakes to get. "Only get 5 dozen," she said, "because everyone won't eat one." Boy, was she wrong! Not only were all five dozen quickly consumed, but our guests raved about the quality. The owner, CJ, worked with me so I could have edible photo toppers (purchased elsewhere) applied in-house. Outstanding customer service and fantastic flavors. I highly recommend and look forward to returning to Smallcakes for my next event! (Photo is of the very last cupcake, which I had to snag from jealous guests. ;)

We went here for the first time in Saturday. You walk in and it smells delicious!! The girl behind the counter was friendly and informed us of the cupcake flavors. She also told us they make their own ice cream there, and allowed us to sample all of the flavors! They were so good, but I decided on the chocolate! We also got half dozen cupcakes. The cupcakes were so moist and flavorful! I don't like a lot of icing so I love it that you can ask for one with less icing and they'll go in the back and prepare it to your liking!!! Huge plus for me!! The family enjoyed it so much, we went back today to try more flavors of ice cream and cupcakes!! This is our new go to spot for cupcakes!!!

Highly recommend! I emailed them my request for cake pops for a gender reveal. Very quick communication via email. I needed 2 gluten free and 12 regular. They said they normally have a minimum for gluten free but could work with me. So awesome! The gender results were sent to them via email and they made the most delicious cake pops. It was a great experience.

I always have to get myself a cupcake when I'm at Armored Cow, these things are addictive! So I knew exactly where I wanted to get my cupcakes for my wedding. Smallcakes Utopia made it easy to order (I placed mine over the phone), pay, and pick up. I got them the day before the wedding and they were still perfect the next day. I stopped in yesterday intending to go to Starbucks for a cake pop. So glad I stumbled upon this cupcake shoppe. I am a sucker for a cupcake. I ordered the 4 pack; chocolate on chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, wedding cake and birthday cake. I can’t honestly say that these are the exact names but if you go in, you’ll catch my drift. When I tell you these cupcakes are MOIST. I refrigerated 3 last night and ate one just now (chocolate) and it was still moist. So 10/10 on that . I really enjoy the fact that it wasn’t overly sweet either and it was decorated nicely. I highly recommend this place and hopefully one comes to Raleigh 😊

Ohmygoodness good! Red velvet cupcake was so yummy. The icing was much sweeter than a traditional red velvet with a cream cheese icing but it still made my mouth say Ohmygoodness that is the one!08/06/2022… Back again! I’ve been coming back twice a month and the monthly cupcakes I’ve tried have not been the best. The frosting is still too sweet for me. Just one cup of sugar too much. If I could just buy the cupcakes without the frosting.

I've only tried the cake pops. They were really good. Can't wait to go back and try more of their desserts. I will update my review once I try other items. But based off of the cake pops I would definitely recommend.

I ordered my daughter’s bridal shower cake and cupcakes from here. I have never ordered a cake from them before. The cake was the BEST red velvet cake I have ever eaten.The cupcakes were delicious as usual. They were so nice and helpful when I was ordering. I love this place.

I couldn't order from Cassie's Sweetz, so I stopped in for one of their Pink Chocolate cupcakes. It did NOT disappoint!They have such a beautiful collection of desserts!!! Even the packaging is adorable. Just a fun and happy place to shop. Ig, and It was easy to get to off the interstate. Kinda pricey, so sign up for their loyalty program; but it's a great treat.

Excellent customer service. I walked in and basically said I'm not a cupcake person but the fiance sent me in (he didn't want to feel 100% guilty) lol. So, please kindle help and I picked 6 of these pretty things incl a strawberry, red velvet, marshmallow, sweet potato and 2 more i can't recall.. anywho, best part - my first q was do you have doggy cupcake? And yes, they do... sweet! Definitely going back and worth another try. Clean place.

Average place. I would look elsewhere if quality and variety is a main factor in your purchase. For a specialty bakery, I'd expect this place should be aiming to rival cupcraze, but falls way short. I bake cookies as a hobby and was very curious about their recipe makeup, so I purchased one to sample. I was really disappointed to find that they are using Tollhouse dough.

Was going to try a nearby place and saw this out of the corner of my eye so I decided to check it out. Looks like a boutique cupcake and ice cream shop where they make flavors in small batches. I was celebrating 5 years at work and chose the hot fudge sundae cupcake. It was delicious as well as the salted caramel ice cream. Definitely will be back again. Young lady must have trained at Chick-fil-a cause she gave excellent customer service!

Rating SmallCakes a 3 because we normally have good experiences but tonight was not one of those.Maybe because it was a Thursday evening but cupcakes were low supply and the girl who was helping us at the register was very impatient with us. She did not know how to make waffle cones but a bit begrudgingly made one for us after I let her know no worries if it was a hassle.She then put our daughters cold ice cream in a hot barely wrapped waffle cone 👎The only redeeming factors that don’t make this a one star review quality are that the other workers were very friendly and they made us a cupcake that was out of stock.Hope this is not the new norm for this place. Would love to keep it in our list of treat places.

Good customer service, clean and well organized cupcakes display.This store has a decent amount of selection and the service was exceptional.We purchased 3 different flavors and 2 of them tasted extra delicious and 1 was just average. Most of the time we feel cupcakes taste dry and just feel like a little piece of cake but not these, these tasted very moist and you can taste different flavors and texture when eating them.4 starts because being a small cake store we wish there was more than 1 flavor for keto and GF, at least at the time we visited there was only one of each.

I have gone here twice now. The first time I got half a dozen and I picked them up at 11am. They were fresh and tasted delicious. The next time I went I got a dozen and it was 1pm. Same as the first time, they were very fresh. I left them in the box that they put them in and had them the next day and they were still fresh. I am incredibly picky about my bakery. I cannot stand stale cake and I think that these are probably one of the best cupcakes I have ever had. I don't know if each location does things differently, but I go to the Charlotte location on University City Boulevard. All I can attest to is everyone in there is incredibly friendly and the cupcakes are great!

The place was very cute, the cupcakes looked beautiful. I ordered the Caramel crunch, well it was not so crunchy the pretzels on top were soggy and the cake did not have a caramel flavor at all. My sister however enjoyed her chocolate cupcake. The staff was friendly!

Very few cupcake/dessert shops in the University area, and this one is convenient and delicious. It's a quick stop for your favorite flavors. Staff are usually nice.
