Pretty cool nursery definitely worth checking out but a little pricey on some things. All the staff we talked to were friendly and seemed very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions. We love that they allow dogs, our pup enjoyed shopping with us. They had a pretty impressive air plant selection with some of the largest I’ve seen for sale. We got free ladybugs with our purchase but it seemed like most were dead upon release-not sure if that’s normal since it’s our first year using them for pest control but figured it’s worth noting so others know what to expect.

A friend and I went to Pike's Ballantyne yesterday and it is a beautiful store with lots of gorgeous products. it was a Thursday and only about 4 customers (including us) in the store shopping. I saw about 8 employees over the course of the visit and only 2 of them were nice. The others were so incredibly rude when we asked any question whatsoever. Both a hispanic female and a young man were nice. All the others were rude. One even scowled when I asked where I could find their geraniums and barely answered me, said they "should be over there" and vaguely gestured over to another side of the store. I never found them. For the prices they charge they should at least provide friendly service, especially when they have no one in the store. I can't imagine how rude they are when they have lots of customers to service. The checkout girl was very rude also. Terrible experience. My friend and I didn't comment to one another while in the store but once we got in the car, he felt just as I did. He is the nicest, kindest person and never criticizes anyone, yet he couldn't believe how rude they were. Amazing. I was shocked that almost every employee was rude. Made me never want to shop there. Was intimidating and makes you scared to inquire about anything.

Top notch. ALL of the flowers and plants that I have bought here over the years have thrived. I always feel educated when I enter the store as well. Professional, great customer service. Largest variety of quality plants, flowers and products. Very reasonably priced.My happy place!

Emily was so amazing and so helpful. However, watch out the judgmental rich entitled people who think they are better than everyone else. Place is great the people in the area not so much!!!

Overall I had a good experience. There were people that helped me with my plant selections, Jim in particular. The place is a little pricy but they had some of the plants I wanted. My only complaint is the young medium haired brunette girl at the register was rude and had an attitude like she was mad she had to work. The other girl with the blonder curly hair is always much nicer. I almost wanted to ask to switch me to the curly blonde haired girl bc the straight brunette haired had such a nasty attitude. I was there Sunday the 7th around 6pm.

This place is absolutely amazing for all your house plant needs, and they even offer a fantastic selection of bird feed. We're regular customers and our feathered friends just can't seem to get enough of it. Every time we visit, we're thrilled by the discovery of rare house plants, and we always end up adding one or two new ones to our collection. Their assortment of planter pots in ceramic and terracotta is truly excellent. We recently purchased two Chinese money plants, also known as Pilea peperomoides, along with adorable ceramic pots in beautiful shades of blue. These plants are flourishing in our home and bringing us so much joy. The presence of a koi pond out front only enhances the overall calming atmosphere. You definitely don't want to miss out on visiting this place - it's an experience that's truly worth it! 🍃👍

Seemed like a cool place, and it is big. There aren’t a lot of options for low light plants, and I wandered around for awhile looking for low light plants without anyone asking me if I need help. Normally I don’t mind employees letting me browse on my own, but I did need help, and I can’t help but think it had something to do with me not wearing a mask. When I was browsing plants near the register, I overheard an employee named Jill speaking with another customer very poorly about people who don’t wear masks. I had COVID back in January and confirmed I have immunity. There’s no reason for me to wear a mask or to be judged/stereotyped by staff for not wearing one. This was my first experience here, and I debated on walking out without purchasing anything, but I did have my heart set on a cute little Crispy Wave plant. The guy who checked me out at the register was very friendly and pleasant. I was glad I didn’t have to talk to Jill while making a purchase.

I wish I could give a better review. This place is nice and has really pretty decorative stuff and nice assortment of plants and shrubs. My issue was there was no one that offered us help. We were walking around with an empty wagon and saw no employees. We were looking for a shrub that was not poisonous to dogs, so we really needed help. We’ll since we could not find anyone, we left and went to a different nursery and spent $350 worth of shrubs. Hopefully they will get more help in the future.

Great variety of plants. Each is well maintained and healthy. Plants are also under a one year warranty so one free replacement. Staff members are passionate and knowledgeable.

Today I had a positive experience with Amy, who introduced herself as a Manager. Of the two Pitcher Plants I recently purchased, one began quickly wilting although the other plant thrived under the same conditions.She exchanged the wilted plant for another one. My loyalty to their business is secure.

Lovely nursery! Prices are a little overpriced but I would suggest taking advantage of the sales. The layout is nice and the staff are super friendly and helpful. You can also browse the store when it’s raining; they have it nicely covered. Recommend!

Pike's Nursery is a beautiful, well-tended garden center, with an enormous inventory of healthy plants, trendy containers, and all the designer tools, accents and accessories you could desire! Go ahead and emerse yourself into the dreamy zen of indoor and outdoor plant lusciousness all year long. And there's always something new and exciting... this time they had live moss balls! So cool! And, the staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous.

Very nice nursery!1. One of the cleanest nurseries in the area.2. Great selection of products for pest control/fertilizers, etc.3. Beautiful flowers, trees, and shrubs available to purchase. However, they are generally a bit more pricey than big box retailers like Lowes or Home Depot.3. Cashier's are friendly but if you need help you will have to flag someone down. They are not very helpful (at least voluntarily) for loading and unloading your purchases.4. Checkout always seems to be slow or cumbersome.5. All in all I would recommend this location. It's very nice and clean. Just don't come when you're in a hurry and be prepared to pay a little more.

Interestingly, my review is the opposite of others. I moved here from LA. Differing from other reviews, I found the staff friendly, helpful and the prices really good. My problem is the selection. In LA nurseries, there are literally hundreds of different plant varieties to choose from. At Pike, there's maybe 50 full sun plant varieties? Giving Pike a 5 as it may just be this climate. Most definitely the best nursery I've found in Charlotte.

I've been to the Charlotte location twice and always been able to find what I've been lookong for. Never had an issue with customer service. My only problem is they are quite pricey!

Love the place. Love my plants from there, but only feel comfortable paying clearance sale prices for the rest. One star off for overpriced items, one star off for closing so early. I'm so confused, why do you close at 6? That is why I only shop there a couple times a year. Every time I want to go there around 7:00PM, they are closed. No way I am going to drive during traffic just to make it there before 6. I'm really surprised that you have not left the shop open longer for the holidays, you are loosing money. Ton of traffic on the main road and you close when most of the people drive there regularly. Please stay open later and don't overprice items I can buy online cheeper or for half the price 5-10 minutes away.Thank you for the awesome plants. Love my home treats from there. The seasonal trees are beautiful and the wide variety of home/house plants are great and in great shape.

Decent variety of plant selection but nothing exceptional. A lot of plants were not doing great when I went and some plants are over priced with no discounts. Not much native selection. It's an overdoze of evergreen hedges, conifers, cypresses and hedges. I was hoping to find more native yet interesting varieties.

Did not have a good experience. I called twice and both times an associate told me she was too busy ringing up customers and referred me to their website. My spouse and I went into the store to buy foundation shrubs and plants, they informed me I had to pay a $500 landscape design fee to get any help , I was a little shocked bc we own a modest home and only needed someone to help us pick some shrubs and plants out - we went to another nursery here in Charlotte and the staff was helpful and within 30 min we had all 20 shrubs and plants - go to another nursery

I have been a repeat customer of Pike’s for years, and every time I visit I am in awe of the variety and quality of their inventory. The past two weeks, in the mist of a Saturday and the busiest season of the year, the customer service shared by both Julia Canipelli and Amy Holzman, was beyond 5 stars! These ladies were such a pleasure to work with and their design ideas and expertise were priceless! I genuinely thank you for the impeccable customer service, I am so looking forward to seeing my completed project, I’ll be sure to post! 🙏☺️

We shopped there for the first time today. They have a great selection of plants. However, many planters are not marked with a price. I purchased three small ceramic pots that would have been no more than $30 elsewhere. When we got home, we checked the receipt and was astounded to find out we were charged over $100 for a small 6” planter! Even though we didn’t buy much, our total was $305!!!!! We are so disappointed with this store and will not shop there again. Beware of items with no prices and no signs.In addition to the overpriced planters, it took FOREVER to check out because the cashier was having to answer the phone. Seriously Pikes? You can’t afford someone to answer the phone who isn’t at the register??

Called about specific tree. After being placed on hold i was told yes they have 5, 5 gallons and several 7 gallon plants. Great will be right out to get one. Got out there. Many employees milling around, some actually helping customers. One employee asked if i was finding everything i was looking for. I said No. she turned and walked away.Long story short, wasted tome, gas and effort oh well. Saved $250! .

Ladybug Day was very informative and fun. Pike Nursery at Ballantyne offers many learning opportunities that are available for free from Associates who love sharing their knowledge, for example this fine lady Freda Rosen. Jonathan Baugham is the manager who was also very helpful.

Sales cashiers ask if they help, but they really can’t or are playing dumb try to show you up. Genius Bar for plant sales? They don’t know. Fine, you won, I can spend my money somewhere else.
