First visit to this location. The lady working the front register was extremely helpful and friendly. Wish I had her name she deserves a great review! Large selection and not too bad priced compared to other pet stores. They even offered a refund if the product didn't work well for our pet. Great customer service overall and a clean store too. 5stars all the way!!

Horrible grooming experience. They turned my dog away because they claimed they can’t groom any dogs if they are on any medication without a hand written letter from his veterinarian. I can’t find this policy anywhere on the Petco website, and I have also never heard of this policy in the 5+ years I have gone to Petco at this and other locations. I’m kind of stunned at how little they seem to want any business. They weren’t open to me even trying to get permission from my vet. I will never go back.

I come here quite often for my pet care essentials. The majority of the time, the cashier is welcoming/friendly, and it's worth the drive from where I reside. Today, the interaction and "energy" of the cashier left a lot to be desired. I'm going to chaulk it up that she wasn't having her best morning (as it can happen to the best of us), however, it made me reconsider my future visit. As a consumer, employees can, at times, be the deciding factor if you will support a brand or its particular location. Her short responses and aloof "thank you" have given me a lot to "decide." I can spend my money and drive somewhere else if this is a representative for this location.

I took my dog to this location and I was told she pooped in the kennel and peed a little from anxiety. My dog has bad hips and some light anxiety. However, my dog has been to multiple Petco locations and I've never had this issue. They need to do the job effectively and not penalize pet owners all because a dog has an accident. This groomer needs to learn that or pick a new job.

This Petco is horrible. Price at register never matches the price on shelf and always feel like I'm troubling someone. Five pets in my house I spend to much here just for convenience. I'm going to start driving the extra 4 miles each way to Petsmart.

My favorite place to grab my dogs treats 💕. I usually get the ones you scoop and weigh. They are cost effective for me and lasts quite a while before I have to get him more. Associate at check out was very friendly and kind.

On my second visit to Petco , I knew where to go . They did have more cat toy's and scratch posts and cat feeding bowls. Associates,were very nice at check out. What I like about this Petco is you can walk around and they don't skip on the lights. It's very well lighted up. I didn't realize their was a vet in the store. It's just in the corner when you walk on. It looks cozy. The lights are dimmed down so as not to scare the animals that come through.

The store is fairly large and has a lot of pet products for dogs, cats, fish, turtles and even guinea pigs. We had a slight problem returning dog food, due to no fault of the employees, and they helped, including calling the corporate office to assist us.

It’s a big store with a great selection of cat and dog food!! My cat was riding on the cart and was looking at fishes, birds and Guinea pigs. Employees were friendly and helpful when I asked for assistance. Overall you can earn points for purchases by using their app!

I am done being berated, chastised, lectured and put down by the employees of this Petco.I am the owner of an 8-year-old ball python that I rescued from a home where he suffered from malnourishment. Due to his traumatic past, he only accepts live rats as food. I would absolutely prefer to feed him frozen/thawed rats for that would be much easier and cheaper for me, but he refuses to eat them. I have been trying for 5 years now and have wasted hundreds of dollars on frozen rats he won’t show the light of day. Before moving to Charlotte, I was accustomed to pet stores that were not only accommodating but also understanding unique pet needs. The Pineville Matthews location will supply the live rat, but its employees believe it is appropriate to berate me every time I need to nourish my snake.My attempts to source live rats for my ball python have turned into distressing encounters with rude comments and unsolicited lectures from your staff. Rather than providing the support I need, I am subjected to judgment, not only to my face but also in front of their coworkers and other customers. Today's incident reached a new low when the employee assisting me turned to another employee, in the presence of 2 other customers, and said, “I don’t think we should be selling rats for snakes or snakes in general” among various other comments like “rats are furry and cute and snakes are disgusting.”I understand that dogs and cats may be more conventionally adorable, but the love and care I provide for my ball python are just as valid. To not feed him live rats would mean compromising his health and well-being. The emotional toll of being berated every time I enter your establishment for simply trying to take care of my rescue pet is unbearable.I implore you to consider the diverse needs of all pet owners and their beloved companions. The lack of compassion displayed by your staff at this particular Petco location is disheartening, and it goes against the very essence of what a pet store should stand for - a place that nurtures the bond between owners and their pets. In fact, the actions of your employees directly violate the Petco mission statement “We obsess about delivering health and happy experiences for pets and the people who love them.” I would say I have the opposite of this type of experience every time I enter this store.If Petco is to be a haven for pet lovers, your staff should be educated and trained to handle the unique requirements of various animals. Criticizing and shaming customers for responsibly caring for their pets is not only unprofessional but also detrimental to the reputation of your brand.I sincerely hope that you take my concerns seriously and address the need for sensitivity and understanding among your staff. It seems every review over the last 6 months of this store has been awful, which obviously warrants some investigation in my opinion. Every pet deserves respect, regardless of their species, and every pet owner should feel supported rather than attacked when seeking to meet their pet's specific needs. Do better Petco.

I'm looking for a vet service and made an appointment with this group. I arrived at 12:47, 2 minutes late. They refused to see my dog. I was told that I had to come back no earlier than 2pm because I missed my appointment window. Amazing display of disrespect and unprofessionalism.

May be instead of just swiftly replying to the review they actually go back and check the root cause of all the bad reviews in the last few months on their groomers. Have been a customer for 2 years, will never be back again though this store is 5 mins for me. Your groomer's attitude sucks.Seems like not the right fit for dog grooming with this attitude. You would think they evaluate and train their employees on service being a corporate in this business but you would be surprised. High time Petco realizes there are lot of alternates to them specifically in grooming business in Charlotte

I was very disappointed with the grooming services along with the grooming staff. They were not friendly and acted like they didn't want to do their job. I had go through my phone to pull up my dogs vaccine records that took me a while to find. I knew they needed to see them, but since I am a vital rewards member and had all my dogs vaccines done right next to them at the vetco, I didn't think it would be an issue. It was more her attitude, like it wasn't her job, she made sure she told me they were not connected. Plus it smelled like my dog had not even been bathed? Then I went to purchase my dogs food to be told by the cashier that it wouldn't matter if he scanned my 10 % off on my pets nutrition coupon, that if it was going to work it would have pulled it up? Seriously? Then 2 hours later I pick my dog up, wait 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us? Then go through the line and pay and te young man asks me if I wanted to use my 15 dollars in rewards? So 2 hours ago the 10 percent nor the 15 dollar reward was available from the other cashier? Sounds like someone or the whole staff doesn't want to work. I was also looking at the chameleons they are selling, I have one that is 3 years old. A tip, they DON'T NEED A BOWL OF WATER! They are arboreal and require a dripper or a sprayer. They can drown in water not to mention its a breeding ground for bacteria. And one had its eyes closed and looked pitiful, it was extremely thin as well. I would think they should know more about the species before selling them. I was happy with the vetco inside but probably not going to continue to visit this location and considering canceling my rewards if the staff can't use it correctly, whats the point? And I went to the Vetco 10 feet across the grooming salon, the young lady had my dogs records in a couple minutes no problem, so to me it's the point of no extra effort or advice, like" hey just walk over there real quick and they will print it for you." Or something, just sucks you spend that much and get that in return.

We visited the groomer today. the dog was taken away and told to go. 2 hours later they called me and said that they cut my dog and it was bleeding. They didn't get a haircut. what kind of wool there was remains the same. there is simply no piece of skin under the foot. How is this even possible??? I arrived and asked, did you treat the wound? they said no. I took the dog and went to the Emergence Veterinary Clinic. There I was quickly processed and taken to the office to wait for the doctor. an hour later I asked when the doctor will be there? I was told it would be soon. an hour later I left. there was no doctor. it's so inhumane. The dogs cut off the skin and it bled. she's small. scared. and the wound needs to be treated urgently. I can't wait 2 hours with an open wound. it's so awful. Then on the Internet I found that there is a powder in this store that stops bleeding. and which should be used in such cases. but when I asked them about it they knew nothing. I really asked you to help me and my dog. but they said you can go to the pharmacy, that's your right. Overall I'm shocked. How can you cut off a piece of skin from an animal and do nothing with the open wound?

As a long time, loyal customer of this Petco business located at the Arboretum in Charlotte, NC, I have made a decision to take my business to a competitor for all my future pet needs. Why? Because I refuse to pay the 10 cent they now require their customers to pay for a plastic bag to place their items in after they are purchased.I get it. It's your business and it's your business decision. But, I also have the right to make a decision as well. I can either accept your policy or I can go elsewhere for all my future pet needs and supplies. I choose to go elsewhere.Your requirement to pay 10 cents for a small, flimsy, cheap, disposable plastic bag may generate an extra 10 cents or save you a bag, but it will also cost you the hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in revenue I spend at your store every year. That's a bad, and costly, decision to make.And, btw, it's not the 10 cents . . . it's the principle.

The staff at the store including the groomers were unfriendly and rude! The way they spoke to me and about other customers was callous and did not represent the brand well. I had an amazing experience at the store in Gastonia, but the Arboretum store was closer. It’s safe to say that I will inconvenience myself and drive further to the Gastonia store to ensure that both myself and my pet have a pleasant experience!

Went there for the first time to look around. Phone was ringing like crazy, I knew this because there was an announcement over a speaker everytime someone was calling. Saw that there was a vet Dr on sight, but a lot of pets in the store, and people were saying that they brought their pets, but was informed the Dr. Wasn't there. So that was a bummer for them, definitely understood the inconvenience. Maybe be more consistent or find a way to let the public know when the Dr. is not in.

Today I felt very disappointed with store crew, I always come to this store with my dogs, I have a 5 months old German shepherd who needs to learn to calm down before start walking and I found out for another trainer visiting the pet store is the best exercise for him, obviously at some point my dog was crying because he wants to run out of the store and in the middle of the training, this lady pass looking at the dog and saying something about waisting the dogs time. So if you work in a pet store and have a better advice for people teaching their pets to have a good and a well expected behavior, give the advice but if you are just judging, don't work over there. Look for another job at Walmart or another bad customer service store.
