I cannot express how amazing Long Hospital has been. I brought my puppy in for emergency surgery and was immediately met with incredible kindness and patience. The care they provided was phenomenal. Long Hospital also offered more affordable options compared to other vet hospitals in Charlotte. Dr. Gibson was amazing, and thanks to them, my puppy made a full recovery. I can’t thank Long Hospital enough for all their help. I’m extremely happy with my experience and recommend this hospital to anyone with a pet in the Charlotte area.

My little frenchie Fiona was so sick. She has been here a few times for emergency care and for her primary care. They always take such amazing care of both of my dogs. Always have a solution. And are extremely patient with the amount of anxiety I experience whenever my dog(s) especially Fiona try to walk the line of death 😂. They are flexible, work you in, have wonderful prices, and are kind to both the owners and their fur babies. I cannot recommend them enough. Being a nurse practitioner I immediately think worst case scenario every single time. And I have to give them a props for handling the amount of tears I have had when my dogs become ill. I can’t thank you all enough for your kindness, and care. You are wonderful human beings. Dr. Patrick, Dr. Schwartz, and every single staff member here truly care about you and your pet. Thank you all 💗

I had a great experience with Long Animal Hospital during my most recent visit. My pup had a broken toe nail and he was bleeding quite a bit. We walked in without appointment and he was examined by the vet in less than 10 mins. The vet we saw was very sweet and caring. The cost was also very reasonable. Actually cheaper than our regular vet!

I use an alias on here so I'll use my dogs name so they know who I am. I LOVE this place. I've taken every one of my dogs here my whole life and my parents brought all our childhood dogs here. Dr. Short (who is giant!) Is absolutely incredible. His demeanor and his attitude were so great. My dog Haze, is getting up there in years. He knew it , we knew it it's a fact of life. He gave me such a reassurance of her health and that were doing the right things with her. She's fussy and really loves mommy but was very open to him. He(who again is SO tall!) Got on the ground and sat to make her more comfortable and I'm sure if he does that all day it takes a toll on his back. But he does it anyway. You can just tell he loves his job and what he does. He deserves so much more praise than I'm able to write but from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I have been taking my Schnauzer here for 12 years. Dr. Brown (the only Veterinarian we have ever seen) is very caring, takes the time to thoroughly examine her and truly tries to understand/figure out any issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Brown. The staff is pretty efficient with checking patients in and getting you to a room. They now are a 24 hour emergency hospital. I recently had a friend that had to put their dog down due to serious health issues and she said Long's was amazing for what is just a horrible situation. Long's quickly got them in a private room, calmed the dog and let them have the time they needed until they were ready to let their baby go. She said the Dr. Heinen was really gentle and sweet through the whole ordeal.

We have been going to Long Animal Hospital for our dog’s vet visits since we moved to south Charlotte 3 years ago. Staff are all incredibly kind and friendly, and so respectful and loving to our dog. The office and exam rooms are all very clean. We have never had an issue with other patients. Dr. Yasin especially has given great to our elderly dog. Highly recommend for any vet care needs!

Looking at these reviews, looks like a lot of long standing customers are pretty pissed at how Long has been operating lately. They're incredibly expensive, and prices for me too have gone up considerably which is what prompted this entire situation.I've been taking my cats to Long for over 6 years now. Spending over 5 grand there, and about $300 a month on prescription food they've told me I needed for my cats. I've only brought my animals in *twice ever* for a "yearly exam" because last time it cost me over $700 which I couldn't afford. NEVER have I been told I needed to bring them every year to keep my prescription urinary tract food.I've been going to their office every two weeks for almost 4 years buying the prescription food I've been told my cat needs TO SURVIVE without issue buying it at all. As soon as I go to Chewy to get the prescription cheaper Long denies my request saying I need to come in for an exam for "protocols". Well why let me come there and buy every two weeks, but not online??!I asked the person at the desk could I speak to the pharmacist or someone else he said no. I asked could be explain what in the exam would show the doctors if my cat needs the food or not, he couldn't answer only to say my cat was behind on "legal rabies shots". I asked him why would they let an animal go without life saving food all for past due rabies shots? He couldn't respond.UPDATE: Long gets their accounts receivable manager to call me back. They're unable to explain other than saying "protocols" why this is happening. I ask again, what specifically in the exam would they be looking for. "They want to know if the cats home life is good and if he's been having problems going to the bathroom" this is a 9 year old cat with 2 prior blockages. If something was wrong we would be at the vet ASAP. I tell her of course he's been fine otherwise we'd be in the vet. If that's all they need to know what is the reason to pay for an "exam"?? What EXACTLY are they looking to do? I can't pay for blood work and urinalysis AGAIN for absolutely no reason. She tells me someone else will call me back.SECOND UPDATE: After going back and forth via email for almost 2 weeks with no additional information and mostly just attitude, I have followed up now three times in 3 weeks after I was told my email would get forwarded to the OWNER Dr. Kilough for response. Coincidentally his father is the one who always took good care of me and my pets, but I guess he didn't pass empathy, accountability, or follow through down to his son.Long has absolutely no mechanism, system, or process to follow through on their own "protocols" which leaves this type of decision up to discretion. Unfortunately their discretion has caused them to lose yet ANOTHER client.

I searched high and low to find the right vet that could take care of my farm dogs. Dr Richard was just who I needed! An " old school" type that understood my needs and respected my wishes for my dogs. We just moved to the South, and will definitely be making the drive to Charlotte NC for our dogs and cats . The staff there was friendly and helpful, and prices were great!

Over the past couple of years, I've had nothing but great experiences at this vet hospital. The doctors are super knowledgeable and really friendly, especially Dr. Short - he's just awesome. I feel lucky to have found such a caring team for my dog, and I'd recommend this clinic to anyone looking for top-notch care.

We love Long! We have been taking our puppy here since we got him in August. All the vet technicians, receptionists and vets we have come in contact with are all very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate. We have not come in contact with a bad employee yet. They seem to be very well staffed too.The wait times never seem to be too long, and we can get an appointment quickly, and they also have walk in hours.I saw some reviews say they are too expensive. This is our first dog and the only vet we have been too, but they don't seem too expensive, and they don't try to oversell us on anything

My senior dog was at the end of life when I came to Long Animal Hospital. He even was not able to control himself in the lobby. Thank you to Natalie and the young man who cleaned everything up.Dr Gibson and his assistant Mack were so kind and compassionate throughout the entire time we were there.I had to put my beloved Banner to sleep, but because of the professionalism patience and care given by everyone, the process was less traumatic.Thank you.

Their groomers completely butchered my Bernedoodle. The first cut was fabulous, Dawn did that cut. The second one we were confident would be the same…it was exactly the opposite. She was sent back like she had been cut with a lawnmower. She also had a bloody foot due to clipping her nails too short. She’s also scared to death. So we are anticipating her being scared moving forward whenever she has to be groomed. Thanks so much Kate. First 2 photos are 1st cut last photos are the hack job. If it’s not already obvious.

Incredibly disappointed with the genuine lack of empathy shown by my cat's vet, Dr. Brown, and the general rudeness and dismissiveness shown to both of us. As a practiced Veterinarian, you should be able to understand and treat a scared kitty. I moved my pets to a different animal hospital immediately, and will never return. Your pets deserve better.

all the words in this world cannot fully express the gratitude of my heart for the noble support, love for animals, professionalism that wonderful people and great professionals Dr. Bill Gibson and Dr. Zach Chillag have shown me. I wish them only the brightest and most joyful days in their lives. Sincerely, Julia and Mark. ❤️

I am so disappointed with Long Animal Hospital!!!!! We spoke to the staff there about boarding our dogs, Bentley and Mia months in advance. We called yesterday, Oct. 25th to take them on Wednesday, Nov. 1st. We were told YESTERDAY, not months again that they needed their flu shot, so we wanted to bring them in to have the shots given to them and we were told that it had to be done a month ahead of time. No one, no one ever told us this until YESTERDAY. We had to scramble, hours on the phone calling other places to put our dogs up so that we can make it to a very important engagement we had planned for months now in Florida. Long Animal Hospital needs to train their staff better...... I will not go through this again, I will no longer take my fur babies there for any reason. THANK YOU TO "ANIMAL MEDICAL HOSPITAL AND 24 URGENT CARE" on Monroe Road, for helping us in boarding our fur babies. They will have our services from now on.

Have been taking my dogs to Long for almost 20 years. What I like is the fact that you can choose your preferred Dr. Dr Zack Yasin is phenomenal. Very smart and experienced and in no hurry. Always seems to nail the diagnosis and treatment and communicates very well. If my dog has an immediate need for a visit I can walk in and wait for Dr. Yasin. I feel lucky to have Dr. Yasin as my Vet. Have referred several friends and they all feel the same. Very grateful!

Needed an updated rabies shot for my dog in a hurry, and Long Animal Hospital greeted us with a smile and took Loki in as a walk in an after 7pm, less than an hour before closing. The process was smooth, fast, and affordable. Will visit again if needed!

This is one of those places where the reviews don’t match up with the facility. We’ve been a couple times due to our dog needing various things. Prices are good, vets are kind/knowledgable, and we get seen in a fair amount of time.I’m very confused why this place even has any negative reviews. The staff are top notch and don’t try to sell items that are not necessary for our dog.

I absolutely love Long Animal Hospital. These guys have a special place in my heart. From getting my roommate & I through a tough diagnosis of FLV, & having to put my roommate’s cat down in 2021 to my cat now getting diagnosed with HCM. They have been caring & thorough throughout it all, & have been an amazing support. Though I don’t get to continue my cat’s journey here with HCM, they are kind enough to send a referral for me to CARE to get the cardiac care my cat needs. They have always went above & beyond. Dr. Killough, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Patrick, & Dr. Schenck are some of the most caring doctors I’ve met. & Jennifer the senior tech is so sweet, & reassured me I’m doing a great job & I'm doing what I can. Thank you for making an extremely lonely & difficult time, not that way every time I stepped through your doors.Thank you Long.

We used to love this place, but it has completely went downhill. The doctors seem to be overworked. You can’t get an appointment. When they tell you to do a walk in you’ll be sitting there for hours before you ever even get taken back and then sit for a few more hours before you are seen. There are plenty of other veterinarians and emergency vets in the area. I would choose one of them instead of this place.

So I almost got a cat trapped or euthanized coming here there’s a stray cat in my neighborhood that I’ve been feeding, petting, playing w, taken on car rides for 7 months he mostly hangs out in my outdoor shed he stumbled up with a hurt leg so me & my sister rushed him here he napped & looked out the window on the way but when my sister went to carry him inside in her arms since we forgot a cat carrier he got spooked by a howling dog & ran off she caught him & he bit her & peed out of fear but once inside he became a feral cat with possible rabies that may need to be euthanized from the incident maybe I explained it wrong but worst case scenario Im thinking TNR (trap neuter release) some vaccinations & a fixed leg is all I’m getting into & I completely understand trying to be safe but the whole situation was poorly perceived and handled while his leg turned out to be okay and antibiotics were given he had to stay overnight for rabies quarantine & animal control checks are being done at my home but initially was to be done by them to whom couldn’t understand why he wasn’t being released back to me & I explained this isn’t even needed, I paid the bill/claimed him, & don’t want him traumatized any further as he isn’t feral shows no rabies symptoms but was scared & loves being outside so he shouldn’t be in a strange place for 10 days. He has been sad and skittish since night 1 of quarantine even though he’s been inside our house before this I know when I let him out today (day 10 of quarantine) he may not come by for a while he doesn’t seem to trust us much anymore sometimes he wouldn’t eat I just wanted to help him but instead got him trapped or possibly euthanized so maybe routine care is good here but humane society is probably where I should’ve gone they were just closed when I went to take him to get help

I was not going to do this as I have used this animal hospital for over 20 years. My recent experience here was way less than stellar. My dog went in for a mass removal two weeks ago and it was not performed and no apology was received for their screw up. They did a dental and some skin tag removals that were incidental. We returned today to have her mass removed and paid as much as our original quote after paying $500 last time for the dental and things. Also, when I arrived they had scheduled her for a dental again despite it already having been done. When picking her up the technician did not know that she did not have stitches to remove when giving discharge instructions. This place has gotten too big to give the personalized care that they used to give. I felt disregarded by my concerns and belittled for even questioning their mistake.

I'm surprised by any negative reviews. Stand for Animals referred me to Long since getting timely appointments at Stand for Animals was very hard. I needed to start seeing a vet that I could actually see.I've been going to Long for almost two years. They act like a proper vet's office. I usually get a non-emergency appointment within 48 hours of calling. My dog is 14 years old with many health issues, and I can speak and see a vet when needed. I've gotten callbacks the same day, even late in the day. I am confident the vets are looking out for my dog's best interest, helping me negative his senior health problems. My dog received a dental cleaning that was very much needed, and he was quickly in and out of surgery which was a great experience. I didn't want my 14-year-old dog under anesthesia for very long.

I typically will try to book an appointment with Dr. Brian, who knows my dog's history, but he didn't have an appointments available. I'm always nervous about seeing a new vet, but yesterday I took my high anxiety bulldog in and we saw Dr. Yasin. He has an amazing beside manner and was so thorough with my sister and I about her treatment. After having to be on oxygen due to breathing issues, he gave her a sedative and we were able to get her home without more breathing issues arising. I was very happy with the visit and would highly recommend Dr. Yasin. It was so reassuring to have someone take their time in their explanations and to put our minds at ease.

This animal hospital is incredible! Been going for over 2 years & 0 complaints. My dog had been having serious stomach issues for about a week. I walked in for a checkup at 7:30AM on a Thursday and was in and out of the hospital in 1 hour. I know their wait times can be much longer but our experience was short & very helpful. The staff was excellent, from the front desk to the doctor herself. They treated my dog Spoon with the utmost care at an affordable rate! I feel I would have paid very similar for the same visit/medications at my normal vet. Will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

I’ve been going here for over 10 years. Over the last couple of years the prices have tripled. It’s sad really. This place helped 2 of my cats transition & they were so compassionate at the time, but basic annual care for my dog is so over priced I have no choice but to take him somewhere else. The also recently lost one of their best vets. Not sure what happened to the once wonderful establishment, but it appears maybe greed is getting the better of them.
