Walked into the store and the first thing they said was we close in 5 minutes, no proper getting or anything. They made an announcement seconds later on the mic saying the store was closed at 9:55p. Then another worker who was talking on her phone, comes up to me to tell me they're about to close the register even though it wasn't 10p yet. Should really consider changing the hours online if you're going to close early and might want to do some more training on customer service skills!

Great prices! Lots of just random things from home decor, clothing, suitcases, kitchen supplies etc. I don’t really come here often just stopped pass to get my nephew some shorts and I always get a new mug wherever I go. They have great deals on mason jars always!!!! Check it out!

If you are looking for a hunter experience, this is the place to go. This is a huge store that covers all categories, home goods, clothing, luggage, and some food items. The clothing is generally messy, but there are many great finds mixed in.

took 20 minutes to checkout because they couldnt find the price of a 99 cent item and wouldnt just mark it as 99 cents and let me go. I had to go find another one with a sticker for the cashier. The cashier also didn't ring up the discount sticker of some items I grabbed so they overcharged me a few bucks. Only one cashier, I felt bad for everyone behind me waiting.

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes they’ve got great stuff for low prices, other times there’s nothing (still low prices). It’s different every time. They have food, candy, clothing, home furnishings, shoes, and almost anything else you can imagine. Worth checking out periodically. There can be long waits at the register, so be ready.

How this place can have 4 stars is beyond me. This location needs an overhaul. The staff is apathetic. The store is dirty. The inventory is usually in horrible condition. The lines are extremely long and slow; returns and checkout are in the same place which adds to the congestion. I implore the owners to come and have a review with management and the staff. This place needs to be closed or completely flipped and restaffed or pay the employees more.

Love the prices and variety of things you might find. The throw was $8.00. The tshirt was $8. I spent more than that though. I wished they had more jeans for youth size.

After visiting this location today (I have been there several times before), I will probably NEVER go back. This store was a MESS. It looked like a hurricane hit it. Boxes everywhere, stuff thrown on shelves with no organization. It was awful. Before you say they were probably short staffed, I heard two employees just standing around socializing so they could have been working. I was so disappointed as I have liked going to this location in the past. It was bad.

I was so disappointed when I entered this store. This was always my favorite place to shop. The store was filthy. There were candy boxes, paper, and trash all over the store . Along with the floors filthy with dirt. Shelves of products in disarray with no organization at all. Price tags missing on many. Clothing and merchandise laying all over the floor. The bathrooms were filthy. Toilet paper hanging over the stalls. It appeared they haven’t been cleaned for days. It’s a shame this particular Gabe’s has deteriorated to this condition. I use to recommend this to everyone. I won’t be doing that anymore.

I lost my wallet today in store. After complaining on customer service the manager checked the cctv. In cctv its clearly visible someone took it from the place where i forgot my wallet in one section of store by mistake. I asked her to check other cctv footage on entrance and from the camera they have outside of the store. So that i can track from outside footage. But she denied that she can’t check that much of recording, i said her to show me i can check. But she said no..My wallet had my everything important in that including my card, licence and cash.The thief can be easily tracked if she would have helped me with cctv footage of main entrance and exit.They just check in store if the person is still there, but why not providing me the cctv footage. I can easily submit it with my police complain.Totally disappointing behaviour.

I used to LOVE this place. My family jokes that it’s my boyfriends place. Today was a horrid experience. The customer service was horrible even though my sisters and I were really pleasant. There was a lady by the dressing room that was a “manager”. She would fuss over our cart even though I moved it so it wouldn’t block isles. She then continued to berate us about the dressing rooms when they were the ones that told us to double up in the fitting rooms. Some of the clothing had stains - inside and outside. The lady at the register was super upset over something. Maybe she was just having a bad day but she took it out on me, my sister and the lady after my sister. I was still able to find two dresses that were reasonable and cute but I probably won’t go back due to the two rude employees we had to experience.

Good people, nice store but the prices have gone up. I'm guessing this is to make up for the losses from all the thieves. There's normally more to choose from but the holiday shoppers surely cleaned the racks.

Generally a good store. Prices are low as it gets. Just don't shop here on the weekends. Otherwise you could be waiting in line a half hour or more to pay for your merchandise. The best time to go is like on a Tuesday afternoon. Also customer service is pretty close to non-existent here, so if you don't know what you are looking for, or are not knowledgeable about something, you are SOL because nobody is going to help you. If you can navigate it on your own however, this store really is an apparel gold mine.

We were pleasantly surprised when the line got long, and they called for backup, we were gifted with Billy. What a kind, hospitable person!! He jumped on register with a joyful attitude and was happy to give support to his team. Billy was very helpful and made sure our experience was amazing from the greeting to handing us the receipt. We will be back again because of Billy, thank you!

There are never enough people at the front. Two people to cash out a line of 15 people. The staff that is there are great. They always have such a pleasant demeanor, it makes it hard to be upset at all. The manager is doing the best she can with the staff she has and they are all very helpful and always a pleasure to speak with. Keep up the good work everyone and don't let people take away your shine.

If I could give negative stars I would! This is the most unorganized Gabe’s I have ever been in! The employees are so lazy and just put clothes where ever they want instead of with the sizes and sections they are supposed in. I will never go here again. Hickory has the best Gabe’s!!

Very messy I picked up clothes the whole 2hrs I was there. No staff on the floor. Cashier was more interested in another cashiers price check than to wait on me, I asked about the senior discount but she didn't give it to me. I brought 2 items to the register 1 w/price the other one I wanted, noticed when I got home she charged me for both? Not very attentive .

I haven't purchased a pair of jeans in years. My wife told me about this place so I decided to try it. Now I'm upset that I hadn't been here before! Prices are super low and the clothing is excellent. I got a pair of jeans for 9 dollars!! Yes 9 dollars!! Thanks to the manager of this location. She was very nice and knowledgeable. Looks like she runs a tight ship!

This location was neat and clean, but I guess it's the nature of the store not to have clothes within departments organized ( shorts were with pants, tops with bottoms, sizes mixed, etc.) I gave up on finding anything to wear. I did, however , find several little "incentives" for kids at school for reasonable prices.

Love this place! They have tons of great clothes to choose from and for all sizes. My Aunt and I went here and we enjoyed walking around and looking at all the sale items. We found a bunch of clothes that we wanted in our wardrobe. We ended up getting some vanilla room spray, a few shorts, a couple of shirts and some eye shadow. We got all that for under 40 dollars. I found some pots and pans that I will be getting for the kitchen and some really awesome Tupperware containers as well. We will be back when we have more money to spend!!!
