I love Big Lots. You can always find many deals on things for the home and garden.Their restroom left something to be desired. Three stalls, one with no toilet paper, one with a broken toilet paper holder falling off the wall, and the other with fecal matter on the toilet and wall.I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the restroom. The cashier was super friendly.

I recently purchased a couch from a lovely lady in Gastonia however, I received it with missing legs. I went to big lots in hopes to find some that would match and was amazed by the customer service! Alira and her manager were so kind and helpful! I was able to find exactly what I was looking for and left extremely satisfied!!

Salvage YardThis was the most unorganized Big Lots I have ever seen. You barely have room to walk. I was only there for about 5 minutes.There were 3 ladies standing upfront, I asked, "if they had outdoor furniture covers". One of them pointed to the patio section and said, "If we have some, they would be in the outdoor section".OK, if there are 3 of you standing around talking, couldnt atleast ONE of you show me where the covers are located. Organize your store, presentation is everything! And, there were too many items without price tags, if you have free time, tag your merchandise. Very disappointing, I will not shop at this Big Lots.

If you all remember big lots use to be on North Tryon and years later after circuit city was closed big lots took over the building. Probably the worst locations employees is always a girl and old. Customer service could be better especially the assistant manager David & Chris (old lady manager)

I was disappointed with a staff member today. I had pulled my cart over to look at merchandise. Then a staff (pushing a hand truck with a large package, unable to see in front of him) walked right into me with the package. I had warned him I don't think you're going to fit just before it happened. He then said "heavy load coming through" shaking his head and kept going.Really??? What if I was someone's child standing next to their parent??

Horrific customer service…I see I’m not the only one who has been hung up on!!I placed an order 2 days ago. The website specified it would be ready by the next day, yesterday, and that I would receive an email confirming when it was ready. They email never arrived. It is now a full 48 hours since I placed the order. I called to find out the status. The customer service representative was rude from the get go, did not attempt to apologize at all, simply was defensive about how busy they were for the weekend, and irritated, told me that I would be receiving an email when it was ready. No attempt at apology that it was not ready, no ability to tell me when it would be ready. This is an item that I truly needed yesterday and counted on the accuracy of the estimated pick up time. I suggested that perhaps they update the expected time for pickup on their website to reflect how busy and understaffed they are, at which point the female employee actually didn’t reply and hung up on me! I was not being rude, but I was expressing my concern over how much longer the order was taking to fill than what was being said on the website. I could not believe she hung up on me. I could clearly hear the click. I’m sure they are busy but WOW. So unbelievably rude and obviously these employees are not trained to be polite at all. The whole interaction made me feel gross. As much as I appreciate the discounts offered, it’s not worth it when they are both LATE and RUDE. I don’t know who’s managing but they need some additional training so they can train their employees better.UPDATE: about 2 minutes after I was hung up on, my entire order was cancelled. All 7 items, due to “not in stock”. Coincidence? No. She did not offer to check my order. Obviously she would have seen that information if she had looked. I believe she pulled my phone number from the phone call and immediately cancelled my order on purpose. Thanks BIg Lots for wasting my time and energy.

First impressions are everything to me and this Big Lots left me with a really disappointing impression. First I expected that a building of this size would be fully stocked. I just moved here from New York and this is my first time at a Big Lots here in NC. My experience was anything but good. Many of the shelves were empty, product was under the wrong planogram label and many of the items had no pricing. Let's talk about prices as I was shocked by how expensive simply everyday items were. They had simply everyday, no name, non electric can openers for $ 10.99 and the craziness of it was it was the only can opener they had. A coffee mug, regular size no graphics were $10 and up. Let's talk customer service or lack there of. We couldn't find bed pillows and that had a lot to do with lack of signage. We accidentally ran into a store employer and when we asked what aisle were the bed pillows located he acted like a " deer in headlights" . My daughter literally proceed to use her hands to describe what kind of pillow she was looking for along with speaking. First he directed us to throw pillows and my daughter needed to explain further. At this point we headed to checkout and thought OMG this would be the high point of our shopping experience as there was no lines. One customer was at checkout and 2 employees behind the counter. Guess we thought wrong ! The customer was on her phone the entire time completely oblivious to the employees and the line growing behind her. One employee was trying to do some type of transaction with the customer while the other employee literally stood like a statue and watched a " no line" grow 6 customers deep and didn't flinch. Finally when we thought all hope was lost a male employee came up to the front and proceeded to ring us up. I have to say this and leave it here. I worked many years when I was younger in retail as a manager I believed that the customer and customer satisfaction was my number one priority. If a line was growing, it didn't matter if I was a manager I jumped on a register to get the line down. Needless to say I wouldn't shop this specific Big Lots again

I placed an order for pickup, which the website said would be ready the next day. When it turned to 6pm the following day, and I’d not heard anything about my order I contacted the store. The first guy (who I later learned was a manager) hung up on me. I called again and got a woman this time, who laughed when I told her the guy hung up on me. Then, told me my item was not in stock. I asked if she could check what store might have it, but instead of offering to help me, she only said I should download the app and look there. Seriously? Instead of using their inventory system, I needed to download something additional and look? The man came back on, and I asked to speak to his store manager to find a fair solution to the situation. He told me she does not talk to customers and placed me on a long hold. During that hold, I got an email stating that they had cancelled my order, then someone hung the phone up. They stopped answering my calls since then.Update to add: a representative, who did not identify themselves, did call me yesterday. I asked for them to call me back as I was at work, which they told me they could not and just had to say something real quick. She proceeds into a half-hearted apology and offered a $25 gift card as if she was doing me a huge favor. I won’t be shopping back with them, so I told her they could keep that. I have since purchased my item elsewhere.

Awesome deals and a great variety. I'm always greeted with a smile and friendly atmosphere. Members of the staff are very courteous and knowledgeable of their store which is a great asset to customers. Definitely one of my faves. Big Lots see ya soon!!!

With the covid-19 pandemic that has disrupted and touched each and every one of our lives; it's really been quite some time since I've been anywhere. So early this afternoon, I ventured out to Big Lots since I hadn't visited one in over 10 years. Remembering them as a deeply discounted alternative to your big box stores. As will happen, there prices had also gone up. But, after circling the aisles, I was able too come upon some item's that were marked 50% off etc; so there are still quite a few really nice bargains to be had. Sign's were posted everywhere concerning the mandatory need for wearing masks. Upon entering the store, immediately to the left was a table with paper towels, hand sanitizer and disinfectant available for your use. There were also signs for immediate job openings. Too paraphrase; ask too speak with the manager about a job and start today. The staff was younger, friendly and exceedingly polite. They have veterans discounts available as well. And the entire store is handicap accessible. It was extremely well lit and very neat and clean. If you took the time to read this review, please take a 1/2 second and click like. Thank you.

Every time I go into Big Lots...any Big Lots, I am always looking for the price of something. Not on the shelf and not on the item. When trying to find help, well everyone is short-handed. I understand with all going on that things are getting let go, but pricing should be done before shelving. The customer doesn't need to carry it to the checkout and have to get price and then of course not get it because it was more than expected. In turn, that causes extra products to have to be put back and again...short-handed problem. It needs to be handled for customers!!!

I just had the most pleasant experience with an employee at this store. Janiah (spelling may be incorrect) was so pleasant and has great energy. Such a breath of fresh air to a young employee with great manners and positive disposition. She made my evening.

There is no reason why every single time I come to this location there is never any prices on most of their items. Big ticket items such as bookshelves and vacuum cleaners. So what if people are nice and helpful, we're supposed to be! But when I drive to a store to make a purchase I should know how much an item is without having to hunt down one of three employees working. It's exhausting and very frustrating. The employees will even see you trying to find the price and won't offer to assist.

Big Lots has come along way since I first started going there back in the 90s!! The customer service is 100% and the items you have are beautiful! The Gardening dept is very hard to be pulled away from! I absolutely loved my experience there. The prices are good, not as cheap as other major stores but still good. Thank you. 😊

VETERANS BEWARE!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION!! Horrible customer service! If you are a veteran the cashier will deny your veteran discount and when file a complaint the Manager is rude and condescending. The cashier did not even give me a product I paid for!!! VETERANS, YOU WANT SERVICE THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO!!

The store was clean and mostly organized.The guy in the furniture section was very helpful and friendly.Checking out was not fun. The register froze, the cashier didn't know what to do. Only 2 registers were open, they got backed up quickly. I had to get rung up again, which held up the lines more and I wanted to get a loyalty card - however it seemed like the cashier wasn't sure how to do it. I'm guessing she was new/seasonal.

The prices here are always fair, and there are a variety of products to choose from. It is one of the smaller "Department Stores", but if you've never been or haven't been in awhile then I would recommend a visit soon. The employees were pleasant as well, but I never noticed more than a few of them working in the store at a time so sometimes it can be hard finding help.

One cashier with about 6 people in line. Besides the fact she was slow. When I finally got to the register and mentioned the problem, I got no apology. In fact she said oh well that's the w as t it goes. I have no use for this type of rudeness.

The store was crowed and a long line at only one opened cash register. The young lady was working as expeditiously as humanly possible. Only after she ran out of register tape and call for replacement tape and some assistance, was when a white female her, took her "jolly," good time coming up to unlock a drawer to give a rolled cash register tape, then another female came up with the attitude she was being inconvenienced and open another register.
