Thank you Pep Boys of East Franklin Street in Chapel Hill for helping us. We have had a rental car for a week when there was a message 'maintenance required, visit your dealer'. Alamo sent us to Enterprise in Chapel Hill to change the car. The lady of Enterprise told us that it's just an oil change, go to Pep Boys. So we did. Well, they know what to do, ensured us, helped us immediately and within 90 minutes we were back on the road. They checked en changed the oil, checked the tyres and brakes. Just great! We are very thankful that Pep Boys of East Franklin Street in Chapel Hill helped us so well.

Pep Boys in Chapel Hill installed a set of tires shipped in as well as provided alignment services on my vehicle. While it looked very busy upon arrival the work was completed in a very reasonable amount of time. As needs arise I would continue to consider this Pep Boys location given my overall satisfaction with their work and timeframe.

So grateful to Pep Boys for helping me with my car problem!! My skid plate was damaged, and they took the time to not only look at my car and fix the immediate issue, but also provide recommendations for what to do in order to be able to safely drive to a mechanic. Recently went to PEP boys with a long list of items needed to update the entire brake system on an 1985 Jeep CJ7. The staff and the mechanics worked with me every step of the way to diagnose, review, and repair all the items needed. As with any older vehicle, there were even a few items that popped up that also needed addressing and we worked diligently to get them taken care of since we already had the car on the lift. Dan, Zayy and Eric all went above and beyond to get me taken care of. I already use PEP boys for my other car needs and will be sure to continue to do so. Thanks again to all of them for making the shop feel like a smaller family run business that looks out for their customers.

Did my state inspection there on Easter. Dropped the car in no trouble and went to alpaca for lunch while they do their thing. Only inconvenience is that Pep Boys were so efficient at doing the inspection that I didn’t get to finish my lunch. Everything was smooth and the people were friendly. Definitely coming back for any car needs.

Came in to purchase new tires. The person who helped me choose the right tires was great and I was happy with the results. The reason for the less than 5 star review is that after choosing the tires and agreeing to the service, I priced everything out on the Pep Boys website and it was ~$50 less than what I was charged, specifically the road hazard warranty on the tires. When I went to pick up the vehicle I asked about this, and the person just told me that the online price and in-store price are different and that I should have just done everything online if I wanted the lower price. I spent over $1000 at their store, they should have honored their advertised prices.

Fantastic service. Came in with a flat tire. No appointment. The staff was extremely helpful and had me back on the road in less than an hour. Pep Boys Chapel Hill rocks! And this is not the first time they have helped me out. Pep Boys is my go to!

On March 8th, 2024 I had a wonderful experience. I came in as a walk in with many issues on my car and was serviced immediately. The employees were welcoming, professional, polite, and informative. They truly care about your experience and your car. 100% recommend!

Didn't use Pep boys because they were out of power this afternoon. When I asked if someone could take a screw out of my tire, the answer was no. They couldn't do anything since the power was out. Not very workbrickle.Update from corporate group. Pep boys couldn't remove the screw in my tire because their protocol is to remove the tire, take the tire off the rim and then repair from the inside out.After this information, it makes sense why the team couldn't repair my tire. If you need this over the top type of tire repair for removing a screw (and associated cost), pep boys is for you.I'll stick to my $24 tire repair kit from Advanced Auto

Tried Pep Boys because I was sick of jiffy lube. I hated having my oil changed because it was always such a headache and an ache to my wallet. Pep Boys was great! I scheduled an appointment online and I was there for about an hour and a half, but they had lots of cars before me. I literally cut my cost from around $180 at other places to $79 here. That’ll vary based on the oil your car needs but I’m incredibly pleased with the service I got. I worked with Javon who is amazing and very kind! Highly recommend giving Pep Boys a go

Very poor service. Location took appointment via website although they didn’t have staff to complete state inspection. They didn’t call to cancel or reschedule. When I arrived, there was no apology. There was a lack of accountability. The individual at the desk said “ I have no control over the website”. While that may indeed be true, he did have control over calling me to reschedule or cancel, and did have control over how he handled the inconvenience to his customer. I will never use this facility again.

Here at pep boys was an awesome experience.. Ms. Christine was very nice she has a beautiful soul and beautiful inside and out.. 😁 Zay and E gave me a fair price, they're fast and efficient. Of course everyone was nice and welcoming..I'm coming back for sure.

Went in for an alignment and they messed up the boots on my tire rod ends.... Then tried to blame it on the mechanic shop who installed it which was Sturdivants..... Had to take it back to original mechanic to replace boots and fix the alignment....I advise you to choose a different pep boys location if you choose to use the services....

Super impressed with the guys at Pep boys. A tire, less expensive, was not available at their location. They took the time out of their schedule, on a busy Saturday, to travel and retrieve the tire from another location. When it arrived back in Chapel hill they gladly put the new one one back on. They definitely went the extra for me. Thanks!!!

The customer service I experienced was among the best I have ever had. The staff of the Chapel Hill (Franklin Street) Pep Boys was extraordinary. They assisted me with compassion and hustle. I showed up for my appointment and my tires had not been delivered to them. They jumped through hoops to get me my tires and have me on my way. Truly classy gentlemen.

DO NOT go here, I had the WORST experience!Last week I had a nail in my tire which caused a flat. After replacing the tire with a spare, I made an appointment hoping Pep Boys could patch up my tire. I was told by Dan that my tire was "unpatchable" even though the nail was within the tread area. He then proceeded to tell me that I had worn out my tires too much for them to replace just the one, and explained to me that I would need to purchase four new tires which would cost me over $1,000. I then briefly stepped out to talk to my parents about the situation and when I turned around I saw Dan standing outside listening to my phone call which is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. The following day I took my car to the dealer, and they were able to patch my tire for a decent price. I am extremely disappointed in the way I was treated. I was lied to and taken advantage of. They do not care about helping you, they just want to rip you off and take your money.

I had the light come on in my car indicating low tire pressure. I filled it at a gas station myself but the light still remained. A friend suggested calling Pep Boys and they fit me in 30 minutes before closing to check and inflate my tires. They were super - very courteous and didn't even charge me. It's hard to find that kind of service nowadays. Highly recommend.
