Cherry Pop's Soda Shop is THE spot to visit in Catawba, heck, all of NC if you want that retro flair! The food is immaculate and makes you want more. The drinks, sweets, and other baked goods are out of this world and out of this time. Everything is perfect; I have never, EVER been served something I don't like in my many visits to Cherry Pop's. I can't even go a month without visiting this place. They even have seasonal menus, so drop by when your favorite holiday is rolling around the corner. The people are HEAVENLY. They treat you like family, they treat you like you belong in their store. Everything from the food, to the people, to the gorgeous atmosphere make this a staple of Catawba; I LOVE Cherry Pop's Soda Shop!

What an absolute gem of an establishment. So much history and preservation. An old drug store converted to candy shop. Then shut down for years to be reopened as a candy shop with all original booths, chairs, shelves, etc. The phosphate sodas are worth the drive alone. Bring your family, bring your date, this is a place for everyone. Received amazing advise from the owner who help is avoid a terrible vacation mistake.

Such a great place to come a get a sweet treat! My family love this place they have such a variety. We order a soda flight watermelon, mango,cotton candy,blue raspberry passion fruit, and peach, the boogie woogie sundae,the rainbow unicorn sundae, and the brownie sundae! Everything was absolutely delicious and the staff it super friendly!

If you love ice cream, this is your spot. Step back in time going through the door and have a wonderful dessert experience. Stopped in recently and they has some new flavors (Strawberry Cheesecake and Espresso Chocolate Chunk) of ice cream that we tried, out of this world. We will be going back to try the Red Velvet Cheesecake too but sadly they didn't have when we stopped in this time. They also serve milkshakes, sundaes, cones, waffle bowls, soda with so many flavor enhancers, toppers for the ice cream, syrups for ice cream, glass coke bottles, and more. It is hard to chose just one thing to try so be prepared to return til to try them all. They also have old school candy and toys for sale, prices are pretty cheap for that. Dining area is quite small and quaint however they have space outside to sit if weather is decent. Definitely a returning spot for us. Keep in mind sodas don't get refills.Parking: There is limited street parking in front of store. Parallel parking across street and further down from store front. They have a small lot next to building that holds about 10 vehicles

This place is like getting in a time machine and going back to the 50s. The food is great and the sodas are great. They also have older candy that will remind you of being a kid again. This place is a must visit.

This place is amazing!!! If you are looking for a true 50’s experience this is the place to go. They have an original soda fountain where you can get hand made soda’s of all different flavors and variety. If soda isn’t your thing then grab some of their delicious and hand made ice cream offerings. They have a huge menu of different shakes, sundaes. And other creations!! Stop in and say hello to their wonderful staff and get yourself a very tasty treat.Kid-friendliness: Bring the kids!! Lots of ice cream and some old school sweets.

Such a treasure in a small town! When you walk in, you're walking back in time. The atmosphere is wonderful and so are the treats. They have a large menu with all kinds of shakes, ice cream sundaes and sodas. The maraschino cherry soda is SO good. My family and I love this place, so glad we discovered it!

I had an amazing visit to Catawba's best kept secret, Cherry Pop's Soda Shop, with my in-laws earlier tonight. The owners have done an amazing job decorating the store to replicate an in old fashioned drug store and soda shop. The prices and selection are terrific and I absolutely loved the Butter Brew Milkshake. I can't wait to make another trip down there to try something else!

Staff was super friendly and patient, ice cream was amazing. Can't wait to get the girls playing with the Lil plane we got there (for the record the wind up teeth in a car is loud 😂) our kids loved it there!

This place has quickly become a staple of our family outings! Love the oldschool decor and retro candy choices, along with the delicious ice cream! The Apple Pie Sunday was honestly the best I’ve ever had! On Thursday nights they do a car show and typically have a pretty strong turnout so it’s great for the community. Overall this is the type of place we need to keep around!

We were greeted with sarcasm when entering shop upon asking for ice cream flavors. They had basic flavors you could get anywhere, so we left the restaurant. No ice cream for us.
