There were two servers holding this place together when we arrived for a late lunch. We were seated in their dog friendly patio and instructed to order inside since they were short staffed. We were grateful to have been able to order at all with how busy they were! I went with the chicken sandwich. They gave me a huge piece of chicken that I had to eat some of first before being able to eat the sandwich. Tots were hot and delicious. Great spot to try if you're in Cashiers! (Or anywhere else nearby for that matter!)

Cashiers offers a number of good restaurants, though some may be closed in the off season. If you don't want to drive to Brevard Cashiers has options. The Ugly Dog pub is a great choice. Good food served fast. The place was not crowded in March. The manager made the rounds to check on us. My wife needed gluten free. They don't have GF bread 🍞 but they offered to give her the sandwich on the plate, no bun. They have a full bar with two big screen TV's over the bar. If you are in the area and don't want a chain restaurant, it's a good option.

Great!!! One of my favorite stops in Cashier's. The service was great. I didn't get her name but a young blonde girl. Very friendly and helpful. The pineapple cider was delish and refreshing. I had the pimento burger, and it was delish!!! We had loaded tater tots, and they were loved by everybody. All in our party were very pleased. I definitely would return.

The highlight was the kitchen staff helping the servers. Don't know his name but he was so friendly even though he was overwhelmed. We just got done cutting down our Christmas tree and found this spot on the way out of town. We were in no rush and waited just over an hour for a table. I worked off the wifi in the Hummer while the family shopped. Once seated it took some time to have a server take our order. Off menu of Chile cheese fries was accommodated, that was nice. My marble rye was soft and fresh on my Reuben sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich was meh. What we didn't order immediately but had to try after seeing it pass by was the fried chicken appetizer. That was great. Overall food was good, service could not keep up with those that tried to be patient.I would go back for the limited food choices but as you check in to get a table and find it's over 30 minutes be prepared that the meal will take an equal amount of time to arrive at your table.

My son and I dropped by while we were in town. There are not many options in Cashiers for lunch, so this place is usually busy. I assumed the food was good. My burger was burned when first served. Before I could say something to the waitress, the manager brought another burger. The cook knew he served inedible food. The second burger was overcooked as well. My son’s chicken tenders were ok. The waitress was nice, but too busy to be attentive. The place seemed understaffed. I looks like a nice bar, but in my opinion it ends there. Everyone has a bad day, but this place has left me with a charred taste.

Best pub food in cashiers, hands down. Immersive atmosphere with random dogs posted on every wall and the tap handles mounted to the ceiling keep you captivated if the several TVs dont. Service is fast and efficient. Only reason for 4 stars on food is because they were out of a few liquors. Absolutely would recommend their brisket BBQ sandwich.

We stopped in after a tip from a friend. This is a comfortable place that is definitely a local spot. The craft beer selection was decent but the liquor (especially whiskey/bourbon) selection was one of the best I've ever seen in a small town watering hole.*See photo for selection

Great! We thought this was the best combo of good food and good service that we were able to find in the Cashiers/Sapphire area on an off-season weekend.We started with wings, which were some of the best we’d had in a long time. Talk about crispy! Snap crackle pop!I had the sweet tea brined fried chicken sandwich, which was a new concept for me and really delicious! I added the blue cheese cole slaw, which had good flavor and consistency (not too runny). The side salad was a huge portion and really delicious as well.You’ll be well taken care of here!

Great spot. Pics and reviews do not do it quite the justice it deserves. Good wine selection, several good craft beers on tap, the wings are quite tasty and the service is good. I sat at the bar. Shared a bottle of Fernlands Sauvignon Blanc with my husband. We chatted with the bar tender (Josh) about their foods and decided to try the wings. They were great. Super crispy and juicy too. Buffalo sauce is more mild but a great flavor. I like the sweet chili sauce too. Their blue cheese isn't chunky which was sad for me but I know all don't care for chunks.Their atmosphere is great. I thought it was a dive bar when looking at the pics but it is quite a bit nicer than that.Ordered a hot dog WV style with chili, onions, ketchup and mustard. It was huge for one. The taste was ok. I didn't care so much for the chili. That being said, I'm really picky and it was on the better side of a chili for me. They used red onions to top and I'd have preferred white but not a big deal. I still ate all of it. The tots were really good and crispy.I tried my husband's flatbread and it was pretty good too. I was surprised by the quality and quantity of the toppings. Sauce could be better but overall, it was good.They have great quality merchandise too. A little pricey for a bar but the quality makes it worth it.Overall: We will be back. Great spot for lunch or drinks and an app.Edit:back again and even better this time. Got Palomas. Decided they needed jalapeno .Savannah made us one with fresh jalapeno and it was AWESOME.Update: we have been back so many times that we feel like family. Their Mac and cheese bites are the best ever. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Great local hangout with awesome servers. We look forward to this being out first stop every time we come to Cashiers.

This is one of our favorite eatery’s in the Cashiers, Highland NC areas. Not just because they are dog friendly and offer one of the coolest courtyards but their service and food is consistent. Tom loves the burgers and the whiskey soaked onion rings, they have a few vegetarian options. This stop I enjoyed the perfect quinoa salad. Of course the cocktails are generous and a good selections, try the bloody Mary.

Enjoyed the Ruben and tots. The meal was fresh and good.The waiter was helpful and gave suggestions on what is good.We went on a Sunday so it was dry, no alcohol.The place was clean and had a variety of antiques.The bathrooms are clean.The parking lot was accessible and easy to get to. There was a good crowd here.If you are in Cashiers this is worth the stop.It is always good to see a bright spot for a place to eat.

Went for dinner and was ready to be angry about the slow service and wait time for food. However, our server was so kind throughout the whole meal. Apologized for everything and gave us 10% off our meal. It was a small gesture that cost them $3.75 but it showed us a lot that they owned up to their mistakes and made amends.Just for this action I would go back a couple times to give them more chances to show us how good they can be.The food is great and its a really cool place.

This little pub was the perfect end to a very long week, the change the beer on ap pretty regular, the food we ordered tonight was perfect. Way more side quantity than I would have expected for the price.I had the rib sandwich and chips. And a couple different taps. It was perfect..The place was rocking busy and the servers were on the run. And yet our service was great And attentive. I would recommend this pub to everyone in the area looking for a place to chill and also get some good food.Thank you, staff. It's was a great experience.

We were greeted immediately upon entering at 1:30 p.m. and within a few seconds our waitress Stella came over to take our drink order. My wife and I both had a cup of their homemade mushroom soup. Very flavorful with blue cheese crumbles. And when we finish the soup within minutes a young man came by and asked if he could take away our empty bowls.I had the Salmon BLT with bacon. Salmon was flavorful and bacon crispy with a friend green tomato on top. My only complaint with this sandwich might have been the ciabatta bread was just slightly crumbly.My wife had the special barbecue chicken melt with mushrooms on sourdough bread with a side of their blue cheese coleslaw. Everything was exploding with flavor on her plate.Stella checked on us several times throughout our meal -she was friendly and efficient.
